Chards are the best to buy silver Brittanias from in the UK. If you check out their special scheme Britannia out. Theirs a massive reduction on the VAT. I have had a couple of orders this month alone.

@@SeosamhMacUaid When a VAT registered trader buys and sells second-hand goods, which would normally be taxable, they are entitled to account for VAT only on the gross profit. The scheme applies to almost all second-hand goods, including most coins, medallions, and bars. However, it specifically excludes “investment gold coins and bars” as these are exempt from VAT in the UK. It normally applies to goods on which VAT has already been paid on purchase by a private (non-VAT registered) individual, or which was privately owned before VAT was introduced.

@@SeosamhMacUaid Yes, if you purchase special scheme, you'd only pay VAT on our profits of those coins.

I have one of these (a half sovereign) and it’s from the year 1913

What about underweight worn sovereigns that are no longer 7.988g? Are they classed grade C or off to the smelters?

Great question!! The majority of underweight sovereigns are sent directly to scrap, however if we come across one which is of good quality, we would list this as Grade C, given the weight.

Just bought 3 veiled Victoria sovereigns from you this week two 1895 at 7.94g and one 1900 at 7.93g ! Best value bullion ones not grade C..and my scales are professionally callibrated..
