People focused on the moment back then, not the video if the moment. I feel badly for today's teens always focused on vids and pics and never the moment itself.

Yes the boom box was the fashion accessory of the 80s!! It was a radio, speakers, a CD player and a cassette player all in one portable package. It took lots [ at least four big batteries ] of power to keep the whole system going strong.

Huey Lewis & The News played at our County Fair in 2015 and they played way past their set and played every hit & the audience seriously sang along to every song... but when they played Power of Love people went nuts because not only is it a great song but it’s forever tied to the beloved Back to The Future. 💕

You have to search far and wide to try to find anyone that doesnt like Huey Lewis and the News. This band really works hard to put out a quality product where it counts. Nothing flashy, but when you see them perform songs live, you really appreciate their talent. Very tight. Huey is also a pretty funny guy, and seems pretty humble in his interviews. Thanks for another great tune and reaction!

The 80’s were fun, I lived in Southern California in a small rural town but we were 20 minutes from Ventura, so we’d get out the suntan lotion, pack a lunch , make sure our boom box had fresh batteries and head down the hill on the city.bus. Great times for sure!

@@paulinotou Ah man that movie brings back memories, the song Cruel Summer still makes me think back to 1984, I was in Junior High and had to take the school bus, but on this particular day my Mom & her best friend picked me up and told me they’d gotten me tickets to see the Jackson’s Victory tour from a scalper. It was a glorious day for this 7th grader.

Huey is such an icon, his music puts you in a cheerful mood I love this, feel lucky to have grown up as a kid in the 80s and this is a reminder of that 👍

Huey was pretty big in the 80s - my father even listened to him (he used to blast this album on Saturday mornings to wake me up - drove me crazy because I was an angsty teen Metalhead).

This is a fun band, their songs are just easy listening for me. Great instrumental band too. 💯

Huey Lewis and the News was a great band that appealed to both younger and older generations at the time. Both me and my dad loved their music as it was upbeat and fun and it really was great music especially in the summer! Huey was always great at the beach or by the pool or on the road for a day at a theme park! ( I grew up in Florida 😉)

The 80’s was such an awesome time. We knew how to have fun without the use of technology. Amazing songs. Amazing tv shows. Amazing movies. It was a much more relaxed and enjoyable time. You didn’t have to worry about constantly offending people, and none of this PC BS!!

Back in the 80’s I had such a crush on Huey and listened to everything the group made. I remember watching an awards show with my mom and I waved at Huey at the right time because he was waving at someone at the same time. It became a special joke with my mom. Any time I was watching Huey Lewis and the News I would look at my mom and say ‘You know he waved at me one time’. She would smile and shake her head. Mom passed away in 2008, but I still smile at our personal joke.

They had so many good songs! Very heavily played on the radio! I saw them in concert in the 80's ! They were really high energy!

I was a teenager in the 80's. Gen-X!! I grew up on Fort Myers Beach, Florida & that's exactly what it was like. We spent our days hanging out at the beach with our Boom Boxes (And lots of spare D batteries🤣), paragliding, volleyball, boating... everything was carefree & fun. Nights we all laid on the beach under the stars & listened to the surf. Times were easy & we listened to music from the 70's & 80's. Amazing time to grow up. Seeing you sing along & have fun always makes my day!! Hearing & seeing all the music you have done through YOUR eyes & ears is truly a treasure. ❤

Saw them twice in concert 20 years apart. After 20 years they still rocked the stage. I am proud I got to go the second time. You've got to play the heart of rock and roll. I've been lucky enough to have seen many concerts back in the day. Peace out.

I was born in '79 and raised by a young, single mom. As a result, I grew up listening to the weekly Top 40 every weekend and watching all of these classic videos on MTV (when MTV actually aired music videos all day and night!) It gives me so such joy to see your reactions to these videos because you really seem to jive and authentically feel (and enjoy) all these songs that I grew up with, regardless of genre or artist. Yeah man, simpler times without technology. Mostly listened to what was on the radio. I'm from Milwaukee Wisconsin and we have a huge music festival called Summer Fest down by Lake Michigan and Huey Lewis and the News played there several times along with bands like Kool and the Gang etc.. We also have a beach but you really don't want to go there in the winter haha. I never thought that I would enjoy reaction videos so much but I really like to see someone younger enjoying the music that I have been familiar with for so long. You have a genuine personality and when you smile and are surprised by a new to you song, it makes me smile as well. Keep doing what you do and keep the music alive because IMHO the music from earlier generations, especially real bands, are really great and near non-existent in this day and age. Peace!
