Mate 20 owner here..y need to pay more...it has the same core and gpu as the pro.

Finally a video that focus on the normal Mate 20 instead of the pro

I would rather have this than the pro version, I'm really hating the curved screens lately. Awesome video by the way, really enjoy these full walkthrough videos 👌

Same, also the notch on the 20 is better looking, and the headphone jack was a big plus

As far as I know, that Huawei watermark is for if you want to show off your phone's camera on social media, and I tend to see that on some classifieds listings too. Oppo has it too if I'm not mistaken.

i do like regular version of devices mate 10 was my favorite and now mate 20 is my favorite too and i am thinking to buy this one.

I have my 10 and I hate to play games in this phones when it heats up , performance decreases too much . When the room or the place where I am isn't hot it's working great though ...

Mate 20 for the win..no curve and no screen issues like the Pro..the Pro camera "may" be better overall, but the regular Mate is no slouch

João Victor This proves the hypocrisy of Anadroid fanboys. This phone has a Pentile RGBW display. That means the effective resolution is a third less. The PPI is essentially 277. But because on paper it’s 1080p, Android fans are fine with it. The reviewer even says “it has a dedicated white pixel to make whites look better,” but that’s not what Pentile was created for. That’s a side-effect, but it’s meant to reduce manufacturing costs. The negatives far outweigh the benefits. Reds and yellows look dull and text looks blocky. This phone is the same price as the XR, but has a cheaper, less color-accurate, blurrier screen. Enjoy paying 799 Euros for it, sheep.

daniel gutierrez Idiot. Pentile and Diamond Matrix displays work differently. Every pixel consists of only two subpixels. It takes advantage of the way human eyes work. That’s why superamoled have to be insanely high PPI. A Note 9 with 558ppi or whatever only really has 390ish red and blue subpixels per inch. RGBW is worse because with the same PPI it would have 390 of red, blue, and green. The white subpixel carries no color information and serves only to make the screen brighter and cheaper. That’s why 4K TVs with RGBW displays are mockingly called 2.7K or faux-K. GTFOH and don’t call people stupid until you understand the tech, dummy.

This is an excellent video in terms of walking us through the Mate 20. You do speak very clearly, but you also speak very, very quickly. I am a native English speaker and I felt as though my ears were scrambling to keep up. Hope you don't mind the criticism, but I think a slower presentation would allow the viewer to better assimilate the material. Honestly, for me it would be better to have a good walkthrough (which this is!), but to have a separate tutorial dedicated exclusively to the camera. Anyway, thank you!

OMG! great job on doing this Mate 20 non-pro walkthtough. Been searching YT and Forums for a decent Mate 20 non-pro review coz everyone has been focusing on the Pro model. But I need more... by more I need more reasons not to get the Pro model and settle with the non-pro instead. So far, all these attention and focus on the Pro model makes the non-Pro model look inferior of other phones out there. Is the screen on the non-pro model really that bad? I mean is there a noticeable difference compared to other phone's screen out there? I want to move away from AMOLED screen. It's just bad... I hate screen burn-in which you get overtime. I've had 3 screen replacements done under my 2 year warrany on my current phone. And I plan to keep this phone for 3-4 years if I decide to get it. Reasons why I prefer the Non-Pro model. - The flat display... for some reason I'm not liking the curve displays. The flat display is easier to deal with when it comes to screen protectors, TG and cases. And the glare on those curves when light hits it, I hate it. - No beard type notch. - Headphone jack. - I'm not into photography so I'm OK with the cameras it has. P.S If you know another good Mate 20 non-Pro model review, please link it in the comment. 😂 ✌ P.S I end up getting the Mate20X. 🙂

I think you are right 👍... I am going to mate 20 not the pro one because it has issues on screen edges become green and i do not like edges because can't find a good screen protector for it.. And sounds on the pro is lower than the original one because speakers inside usb port.. And i heard a new problem about 3d sensors can define two persons already..... I wish i get the X model because it's the same camera with the pro and large battery and screen but it's not exist yet on some countries.. Specifically here in Egypt the all mate 20 series not existed yet 😂😥😅... Soooo gooood luck 💪👌 with the regular mate 20 ❤️

For the mate 20/Mate 20x can you get rid of the notch like the pro version? I know the huawei mate 20 pro has the option to hide the notch. The notch for the mate 20/mate 20x is completely different from the pro version. Whether I can get rid of the notch is a decider for me. So far I have only seen the notch get in the way especially in gaming and video content.

I delibrately chose the Mate 20 over it's Pro model! Mainly because of this using one of the greatest IPS-panels. My experience with OLED-displays is quite bad. Even my recent S8 had huge burn-in issue's but Samsung did fix it under warranty (3 days fix, they picked up my phone from my home, repaired it and delivered it, all within 3 days!!!!) which was very pleasant. I'm about to buy the Mate 20!

I like the Mate 20 more than the pro because the notch is smaller and I'm not a fan of curved glass screens. The Mate 20 is simpler, slightly cheaper but camera is the same as the pro.

The p20 has best cameras just by numbers and mor zooming it's 40, 20, 8 mega pixels but mate 20 has lower numbers 16, 12, 8 on cameras but one of them is wide angle not monochrome like p20 pro so i think mate 20 is better and have ane software and features and big display too do not mention it has aux jack too

Hi I just bought this phone and I like it, it's just the videos when I am checking my friend's stories goes good for 1 second and then they go blurry and the colors become bad too, I don't know if it's the app issuee or the phone issue, does it happen that you have the same problem with Instagram stories?

But this review is nt about mate 20pro and moreover you never mentioned in your comment that you were referring to the Huawei mate 20 pro.

I think I’m in the camp of some other commenters here that I like this design more than the Pro. For me, no Samsung curves and no “me-too” notch.

Time to say goodbye to my Lumia 950XL, the absolute last of the Mohicans as far as windows phones are concerned. So I'm getting the Mate 20 next week to replace it... simply because 1) I can't afford anything more expensive 2) as of Dec 2018, it has the latest 7nm chip 3) it has the latest version of Android 4) it has very good battery life 5) it has very good cameras 6) it looks distinctive enough. The rest, I don't really care.

My previous phone, the huawei p9 survived a tour to the washing machine and survived with ip rating
