Hua Chen Yu background : his parents got divorced when he was very very small. He was often left alone home , because his dad needs to work. He said he got so scared and imagine monsters coming out to eat him. He started learning piano very young. But he didn’t have friends and bullied from school. They find him very weird and he don’t talk to people . He was very depressed and all he did was put the music into his soul to release the pain and suffering from his past! Concentrate on music and work hard is his sign!

He is so creative and artistic and versatile, isn’t he?! Never get tired of his performances!

This is the first song I really listen to Hua Chen Yu and got me start the journey of searching everything I can about him; as I know how the original song like from early 2000; I get totally shock and surprise what Hua Chen Yu did in 24 hours. He is amazing!

If you had hear his "我的滑板鞋”, you know, that's really amazing how he change it from the original. You have to listen to the original one! I can't even say... Lols

The emotions express of Hua Hua is not like other singers. He always sing with his soul. He feels it and makes you feel deeply. He is the best story teller I have never seen !

Not his personal story, but HuaHua performs it so well that you believe it was his. Very emotional.

what for a powerful emotional performance, he is very special and he has also a beautiful talking voice , the Chinese language sounds so beautiful when he talks and sings, I listen to him every day.

I think it's important to understand at the end when he said " i still want to call you dad" is not just a simple translation of the lyrics but there was a wish and desire from him that Dad can stop all this violence then he can have a normal family life and can have somebody he can call Dad. This kind of domestic violence and suffering may be shocking to many people from the west. Although it does happen but there is always help. You can call police to stop it. But in China and many other countries, there is no law to protect people suffering from the domestic violence. Due to the culture many women will stay in an abusive relationship for a life time because devoice is worse. Then you will understand the desperation and hopeless of this boy in the song and his longing that his dad will change for the better.

Mc An it’s not shocking to me because I can relate a lot of people can relate anywhere on the world so sadly it shouldn’t be that shocking, and what I mean by sadly I mean that it’s common so a lot of people go throught it in their family including me so I cried so hard during this performance because I don’t have a dad anymore he abused my mother and then killed him self because of the abusive he put on my mother I cry so much thinking things could’ve gone differently if I would have stood up for my mom I wonder would it have gone differently. I know it’s not my fault for it happening but it feels like it is 😫😭😢

I am glad there are now more awareness made to domestic violence in areas like the work place and schools and the communities in general. Most domestic violence are silent killer and sufferers tend to keep it to themselves so domestic violence awareness by outsider is at least a step forward to reducing these unnecessary crimes.

I know it's not his own story but you believe every word and he grew up with emotional neglect which could be as bad as physical sometimes so he probably could relate. It's a heartbreaking song but it should be heard - it should be played to every new parent to show how their actions could affect a child.

But Hua said, the lyrics of the song means deeply, if it is sang only rap, the audience can not catch the idea of the song because rap is too fast to understand. He rearranged the song in 24 hours. Great suggestion. "Qi Tian" also know as "Equal to Heaven" ( English title ). This song was composed by him for the popular movie 'The Monkey King'. Another surprise performance. Hua Hua has to be one of the most creative, raw artists in the world today. It makes me think of Cat Stevens song, "Father and Son." I really appreciate your openness to music from around the world. You are a class act. I suggest you review Diana Ankudinova, a 14-year-old Russian girl with a voice from out of this world. She has two incredible songs. My favorite is Rechenka, or The River, sung in Russian. The other is a cover in French of "Dernièr Danse" by Indila. Both are incredible. Have you checked out KZ Tandigan? She was also on Singer 2018. I love her reinterpretation of "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele, as well as "Royals" by Lorde. Don't listen to the "107 Bus" versions of these songs. They're no where near as good.

At first Chenyu said it wasn't his story, he just related to many people who went through domestic violence. Later, Hua Chenyu said his dad wasn't good at all to his mom or himself. After years, they divorced. He looked up for his dad and they reconciled. His dad has another family and he has a 4 y.o. half-sister he loves much. The song and nunchucks, by Jay Chou, were much better by themselves. They were created more than 15 years ago. Jay Chou was the artist. This new guy, with the weird squeaky voice and stage posture, is so wrong. I wouldn’t say he ruined those songs, but what he did was a bit much.
