    May look old... (and it is) but its great to use. I love their idea of keeping it mostly the same. you can edit with themes etc if you want. otherwise they kkeep their operations mostly standard and u dont have to learn things all over again. Like iphone X

    I have a u11 and i use it all the time. Its much quicker than calling up the assistant. Example. when i want my flash light i just squeeze my phone. Particularly useful when im working on my car and such. squeeze on, squeeze off. Much quicker than saying "hi google, turn on my flashlight" and waiting for it to do so. By the time u get your flashlight on im done my job. It aint nothing grand but it is something that just makes things a lot quicker and simpler.

    Wireless charging is stupid. I cant understand why people want to purchase extra kit, charge their phones slowly, only when its in a specific place, not be able to use/speak on the phone while charging etc...

  • @jimmyc1518

    @jimmyc1518

    6 жыл бұрын

    Jason Hatcher the only thing stupid is not including wireless charging on a glass phone when it's in high demand and you're a company in dire straits. Also there is fast wireless charging now and many people who have desk jobs or just come home and set their phones on a pad that's propped up so you can still see your notifications without having to stand directly over the phone tend to like it.

  • @dave62782

    jimmy c wireless charging is not needed. There are outlets literally everywhere not to mention it charges a lot slower...total gimmick.

  • @jimmyc1518

    @jimmyc1518

    dave62782 I don't think you fully understood what I meant, wireless charging is needed if it's in high demand and will attract more customers and you're a company in dire straits struggling to sell phones, not only is it needed it's a no brainer to include it in your flagship that you expect pull you out of a hole. You may not need it but other people do find it useful so the more appealing your product is the more of a chance it's going to sell better. Also there's fast wireless charging now. But anyway wireless charging is not going to affect the way you use your device you will still have fast charge thru a wire and will never know that little sticker behind the glass of your phone is even there. Same goes for the headphone Jack you may not need it but other people do and there's still a high demand for it, that little headphone Jack will not affect the way you use your phone you aren't giving up anything because IP68 can still be achieved and you will still have your Bluetooth or whatever you like to use. I was not speaking from a personal preference standpoint I was speaking from a smart business decision standpoint. HTC is on its last leg and NEED this phone to sell really well and the features I mentioned would have greatly helped them do just that. If you're an HTC fan would you rather have some things on your phone you'll never use but your favorite company thrive and make more of the products you love or dwindle away and be no more because the features it lacked alienated a whole lot of potential customers?

    jimmy c I understood what you said but HTC was brought out by Google if I'm not mistaken so I really dont see the point of this phone especially when HTC has been dead for a few years now. There last best phone was what the m8 with boom sound speakers lol. The u11 didn't even sell well even though it had an excellent camera. Wireless charging will not bring HTC back from the dead lol and it's not in high demand. Dont let these yt tech reviewers fool you....the average consumer is not buying wireless charging lol all these iPhones and galaxy's plugged to the wall and computer charging.

  • @jimmyc1518

    @jimmyc1518

    6 жыл бұрын

    dave62782 if I'm not mistaken Google bought htc's design department I'm not sure if this device has anything to do with Google or how all that works, if Google is now in control of the company then yeah I don't see the point in making this device. The boomsound speakers on the M8 was great but that was not there last great phone if they would have put those speakers in the 10 the 10 would have killed it for them but they made a boo boo and removed them but overall the 10 was a great phone. The reason the U11 didn't sell well is for the same reasons I mentioned earlier, it lacked a headphone Jack, wireless charging etc I'm not even going to mention front facing boomsound speakers but although the setup they have now isn't quite as good as previous models in will still suffice so I won't hold that too much against them but would have been better if they kept FF speakers. Plus the U11 was exclusively available through sprint only far as being able to get it on a purchase plan that was another bad move IMO and now the U12 is is exclusively through htc's website which I don't understand when they know how the U11 struggled. And yes people are buying wireless charging it may not be a deal breaker for some but there are a lot of people who find it convenient and there's fast wireless charging now on a propped up pad, that does sound pretty useful if you're in your office not much to do or on lunch break an want to prop your phone up on the pad watch KZread, TV, music etc as your phone charges.

    I really don't see why all the comment section is full with the HTC , not quad HD, which doesn't make a lot of difference, but still, we're at 2018 and overall the s9 plus has a better screen, with HTC removing the front facing speakers, the don't quite have a cutting edge in the speaker department, no headphone Jack, no wireless charging at that price point ( personally doesn't matter so much to me, but it's a thing of principle mostly) , you could have a case for design and slightly camera, but personally I wouldn't buy a phone just for it's design, and a small margin in camera quality, and you can replace the Touch Wiz, and in the durability factor we'll have to see, I am completely objective here as I have the m8 and it was brilliant, considering a phone to buy, both would be great, but for the same price. the only thing that's holding me back from the s9+ is whether or not it would out 4 years like my m8

    In China, the HTC U12+ has a national bank price of 5888 yuan, while the Hong Kong version is cheaper but only supports dual-networking (CMCC and China Unicom). The price of Samsung S9+ is higher than that of U12+, but the Hong Kong version is much cheaper and supports Full Netcom (CMCC and China Telecom and China Unicom). So even if I prefer U12+, because of the price and only my China Telecom SIM card is able to use unlimited traffic, I finally bought S9+ yesterday, I do not know if I will regret it.

    nice preview, my question is do you think that htc's squeeze technology is reliable on a device which will be used for about 4 years? or the user may start facing delay errors as time goes on? the other question is about screen brightness, the U11 was considered to have the darkest display under daylight, is the U12's screen brighter?

    You can't make a competing flagship phone & not include features that the top flagship smartphones have. Even the automobile industry has adopted (wireless charging) in their vehicles now. And Audiophiles love using their high-end wired headphones through a 3.5mm jack. Because no Bluetooth headset on the planet can compete with the sound quality of a wired connection. Period. HTC used to be a leader with featured packed smartphones but, only the cameras are great in this U12+. Unfortunately, all of HTC's competitors have smartphones with great cameras too. Heck, even the OnePlus 6 is a better buy than the U12+. IMO, HTC is done.

Two things that are tacky as fuck, phone cases and extra cords. And you'll need both with this phone. I don't want a shitty plastic case or to buy an extra cable to use my headphones. I understand they give you headphones to use with this phone but I wouldn't use these ever. I use nicer headphones as I used nicer phones, up until this and their last phone that was HTC. No. He said both phones are at maximum brightness. The Samsung looks brighter because of how lit the space is (notice reflections). Sunlight legibility isn't really just brightness specific it depends more on contrast and internal reflections. So yes the Samsung was more legible but as to which was brighter, a lab test with actual measurements of the amount of light will speak to that. LCDs are generally less legible while AMOLEDs are. But issues like burn-in are more persistent in AMOLEDs (yes they do exist I have suffered burn-ins on S-AMOLEDs as well).

    Samsung s9 plus? It's like getting a Ferrari to race a Renault. HTC all the way! I'll tell you one thing, HTC is the WORST mobile phone manufacturer on EARTH... For service. How can you be the first in so many Android areas and be the first ever Android phone then screw up royally? Their customer services is ABSOLUTELY rubbish. I had 6 months left on my warranty and several earlier chat transcripts to prove it and they wouldn't repair a minor charger port. WORST company on earth for mobiles. Thankfully you're very unlikely to need their customer service as the phones are the most beautiful,practical and sturdy phones in the world. Making the phones? There is not another company that even comes close. Believe it or not I used to throw my phone down the stairs (carpeted) so that my wife could put it on charge haha. You've got to be very careful with a Samsung. I thought Huawei would replace them for me but there's no one out there yet. I will buy the u20 5g if it comes to it, but really waiting for the new flagship. Come on HTC get your ass into gear. There's no one else I can stand!

    carver 9 As mentioned by Sakkora, phones that have right angle corners. My all time favorite design is the M7. Nothing yet, has ever come close to being as beautiful and well built. Sure the M8 is nice too but I don't like the non symmetrical speaker grills. I hate all glass phones. I think it is a stupid move for a device that is the most dropped item ever created. I prefer durability. I prefer not to use a case. You cannot get away with not using a case on glass backed phones. 1 drop and they are cracked. Being that we simply cannot escape glass backed phones at the moment, below is a list of the latest phones that I think, are beautiful. (In no specific order) 1. HTC 12 2. Huawei Mate 10 3. Xiaomi Mi6 4. Xiaomi Mi8. Whilst it does have slight rounded corners, this it due to the screen taking up the whole front of the device. I read somewhere that there is a feature that can make these corners square) 5. Huawei P20. You can hide the notch making the corners square. That is all I feel are nice looking devices at the moment.

    Unfortunately this will probably be the end of Htc, it won't sell to the mass market and there isn't enough difference to keep loyal fans and Joe public from buying something else. The features the fans want they canned : 3.5 jack, front facing speakers, Htc apps, metal design etc and kept the rubbish no one cares about alleged faster updates, dull stock android experience,funky colours,squeeze and blink feed. I've waited since m7 for a standout phone from Htc but they continue to disappoint on a annual basis.

Thank God you are not in the stock market as your logic would most likely bankruptcy yourself and your client...lol But, seriously HTC is not going anywhere as they have manufacturing on lock down.

    A Rivera, well if you're in the stock market I'd be worried for your job if that's your logic, especially if you can't see the writing is on the wall. If htc can't read market trends, give customers what they want, selling the most talented people in the business to your main customer, no operator stocking your phone, seniors quitting and yet your product still won't sell. Is this the foundations for longevity? No. What's the point having manufacturing facilities if you have no one to sell the output to. Even the most biased commentators are struggling to recommend the phone over anything else out there.

    HTC looks good. Samsung is always ugly whivh I never consider, don't understand why so many people like Samsung, not to mention the constant lag and auto reboot. I'm worried at the battery performance on u12 plus however But for my utility it still feel like a downgrade going from one plus 5 to this u12 plus. Lesser ram and without quick charge. Nice additional features are the ip68 and better camera, I don't think any phone this year is worth the upgrade yet. Hopefully next year when on screen finger print unlock is a thing. Personally prefer the sensor in the front than back.
