Been looking at these bigger nitro trucks for years. After this video it stands between Savage and USA-1 as first 1/8 truck. Will definitely get some Traxxas nitros as well especially Revo. I better start saving some money 😂 great video as usual 👍

Nice this has been a conversation that has been going on for quite some time it just proves that the tmaxx and savage are the go too for nitro mt trucks ..that savage is a gen 2 savage x the colors of the body tells it ..the savage ss came with a 3 speed and those came with a blue and grey body and crome wheels could be one or just a added gear . I run a bunch of different shock set ups on all my savages some with 8 shocks some with 4 but i can tune them for anykind of running i plan ..i have 10 savages from stock to fully modded gettin a tmaxx soon great video bro 👍🏿

I'm honestly not sure what generation my Savage X is, but I do know that it's not the original body. I purchased the body from ebay last year. Either way, I enjoy running it and love how it sounds with that 3 speed. I bought it used in pretty good shape and got it running again. Totally worth it!

Both were very powerful trucks in there age just slightly different in power tran, Full fast and the furious moment with the mini van with that 4way crossinggg Hell yeahh BRAP BRAPP👍✊💪😎

Nice vid....those shocks for the savage,I wish they came with softer springs.....way to stuff.....I like the stock big bore shocks,handles way better in my opinion👍

Great video nice to see a comparison without the this is better one sided game the fact that you left it open for folks to make up their own mind if only you had some one you trust so you could have ran both same time side by side would have taken this from a great video to a bad A** video. It’s hard to choose one. They are both great trucks. One thing that I think about between the both of them is that you can choose quite a wide variety of engines to install on the savage whereas the Tmaxx, you’re mostly limited to the 3.3 2.5, or a dynamite 19 as far as I know. Great video I really enjoyed it. 🔥👍

Great point! Years ago, 3rd party companies used to offer big block conversion kits for the T-Maxx. Now, the only place I've seen them are used ones on eBay. Glad you enjoyed it!

lots of big block options for tmaxx.. like op said.. xtm/dynamite/hcr/ue/acncm are the main ones that do BB conversions.. racers edge is another.. you can also do a direct drop in picco 26 for standard tmaxx chassis's

@@ABIGD0NK3Y if your referring to the picco 26 yes. ofna made a motor mount for the revo that allows for the 26 to drop in. no modification..

That savage is powerful. I always did want one but I've had my Revo for almost 20 years. Are you running 20% fuel? I tried 30 but my Revo vomited it out, doesn't like it.

@@axelhischer6926 all i run is nitro.. i got alot of electric wall hangers.. but i got a full hcr tmaxx.. full ue tmaxx and full hcr emaxx.. got lightning ue emaxx and a gorillamaxx im building next.. nitro all the way if i run one tho.. i got a losi 5 with reed case engine..

You can mod the savage and add a easy start system with it as well . Use a on board control box and a servo remote on and off for the remote start and you will also by pass the push start button on the on board control box. You can also use a lipo hummp pack to power all of the system at the same time. Be sure the servo can handle the extra 1.2v . Also use a old pull start house to make solid spacer between for the easy start system to mount solid to block. A first gen easy start system is needed . A 2 gen will be alot harder to adapt not recommend. 😊 savage nation yah.

Hey Dre I have a question, I have a savage XL and when I start it it idles waaaay too fast, I’ve turned the throttle trim all the way down and the idle screw to nearly closed, nothing helped. Do you have any ideas on what causes that? Possibly stuck in a higher gear or something? Appreciate it man

Sounds like you need to richen the low speed needle a hour at a time. See if that helps. Good luck!

The Savage is definitely quicker. But, with the current stock gearing they're about equal in top speed. I would give the edge to the Savage because of horsepower. This could change either way if there were gear changes though.

I have a hard cord modded savage that everyone named Taz that will do backflips 1-2 gear in command and if timed right will backflip on the 3rd gear shift ( I can’t only land 1,2 out of 10 tries lol ) truck will do 83.6mph by my neighbors radar gun in his sheriff’s truck. lol.. the truck is a 100% Taz and to this day I get the little shakes every time I fire it up. Started out a savage x 4.6 Just a small mod list savage xl f,r diff gears by fast lane rc fast lane rc harden steel high speed three speed trans gears LRP ZR.32x spec 4.1 race modded by fastlane rc ( not 4.86 hp any more not even close 😂 ) plus fastlane rc custom tuned pipe made for the engine when they had it there to modify it…..

ive never ran my nitros on the street.. just rocky gravel driveway and field.. never had a rock break a gas tank.. but what does happen the most is rocks getting in the drive train if you dont have a full center skid plate
