HP ProDesk 490 G2 MT - Overview and Teardown
Ғылым және технология
In this video, I'll go over the HP ProDesk 490 G2 MT and I'll perform a full teardown + re-assembly of the machine. Once complete, I'll do a basic Geekbench benchmark on it.
By watching this video, you can see how you can upgrade your RAM, videocard, install an SSD or even replace the CPU.
My ProDesk 490 G2 has an Intel i7 4790, a Nvidia GT630 DP, 16 GB of RAM and an addition SSD.

Your channel's content is wonderful and instructive. I always put a passive heatsink on the SHPs that you don't have. Thanks for the videos
Another relaxing teardown! Great as always!
Thanks for sharing. I just picked up a ProDesk 400 G1 SFF that I'm fascinated with for some reason.
Nice video!

These older Core i5 CPUs still don't have too bad performance in comparison with some of the newer lower end CPUs. In a lot of cases an upgrade is really not needed.
Can you install a double slot GPU in this one? I couldn't see whether the brackets (in the case) could be easily removed. Because I was thinking of installing a low profile GTX 1050 TI.

There shouldn't be any issues installing a double slot GPU. The brackets covering the opening can easily be removed. There is no need for a low profile card as the tower has space for a "regular" card. Only thing you need to keep in mind is the power consumption of the GPU vs. total power of the power supply.
Is it fast
Is it possible to install an aftermarket cooler? Say a hyper 212 or a bequiet dark 4

Depends a bit on which game off course but also on which video card you have in the machine. In general it works fine for gaming.
what ddr3 RAM das it support
@jensdbe

DDR3 1600Mhz is what you would want in there.
Anyone try xeon cpu on this machine? Xeon 12xx?
@jensdbe
2 жыл бұрын
As far as I know this will not work. Xeon 12xx use the FCLGA1155 socket while the motherboard has a FCLGA1150

As far as I see that should work. Do keep in mind that you will need a separate GPU with a K processor

the nvidia gt630 is just as weak as the intel HD 4600, both have the same performance....not much sense for such a card in there.
Can put GTX 1060 or RX 580, i think can
@jensdbe

Both the 1060 (120W) and RX580 (185W) will require additional power input. A GTX 1650 might be a better choice as it can be powered through the PCIe slot.
