HP printer consumers forced to buy costly ink | WION Fineprint
A federal judge has denied HP's (HPQ.N) request to dismiss a lawsuit alleging that the company purposefully made its all-in-one printers incapable of scanning or faxing when they are low on ink in order to boost ink sales and raise profits.
Customers claimed HP disguised how its printers enter a "error state" when low on ink, disabling scanning and faxing features that do not require ink and compelling customers to purchase superfluous, high-margin ink cartridges. This is the basis for the proposed class action lawsuit.

True....even I ve been using the hp printer and feel that the ink is unnecessarily overpriced.....
I switched from HP All-in-one to getting the Epson Eco-Tank All-in-one. I'm saving a ton of money now! I'm glad HP is getting sued!

You should have done your research before buying an Eco tank because they are designed to fail after a couple of thousand prints. The printer is garbage you're not saving anything.

yeah , this is correct , HP's INK are much costly
It’s a scam, hp and cannon ink cartridge is more expensive than the printer 😢
Ink cartridges are a scandal price wise. I started off with a Lexmark and that was about the cheapest one...the Canon one I'm currently on was about the same price as the Kodak predecessor before that rocketed up in price. I don't print now as much as I used to which annoys me. Every little pleasure you took in printing has been taken away by cost and people wanting no "hard, physical" copies of anything anymore. Sometimes if you're lucky there's cheap cartridges in charity shops but that's getting rarer nowadays...just like the cartridges themselves in some places where they were sold at a fair price.
HP all in one printer is a scam. Something needs to be done
I have 2 hp 8600 (all-in printer’s). I alternate them every 30 days, and have been very pleased with them. Also have a Brother’s as backup.
