Exceptional in every way, he is a phenomenon, orvart and talent incredible

In my teens I followed Dylan ,The Stones, Bowie ,Dire Straights etc., etc. There have great artists from then till now, however I didn't think I would see a singer/ songwriter of this calibre in the 21st century. Hozier is the real deal, a truly remarkable talent.

He is playing in tuned down here (to sing lower and worry less), that might be why it sounds pretty different, and better

@@MateusOliveira-hr1wp Sheeran's voice is also naturally higher than Hozier's. I'm pretty sure Ed's a tenor, while Hozier's a baritone if I'm not mistaken. Most album recordings are made in an environment where artists are recording one song or so a day, allowing them to push their upper ranges without having to worry very much. Also, studios will often tune up an artist's voice in post. In almost every live recording I've seen, Hozier sings the songs at least a halftone to a full tone lower than the album recording. Pretty sure it's so he can save his voice while touring. It's also probably his natural vocal range more so than what's on the album.

@@tanmay3745 that 'offer me that deathless death' line is so complex. 2:12 the trick is to soften the first low notes and FLOW through the notes. If you practice like this, your melody may sound a bit off the first few times, but keeping practicing. If your throat hurts, that's not right. Relax.

So I waited and resale tickets came available...... I ended up paying $140 for one ticket. But hey he is worth every cent! ☺

This is the best version in my eyes. You can really hear his voice here. It’s so clean and beautiful. I LOVE that he can’t reach that high note (deathless) and his voice cracks. It’s so vulnerable and frágil. It’s so real. Just him and his guitar. It touches your heart and makes you cry.

This ain’t even my style of music, but good music is good music. This is why people first pick up an instrument and hold it in their hands. It’s a masterpiece.

This is a song you hear when you’re younger and get tired of, then revisit as an adult and think “god, I’ve felt this.” Brilliant song.

This somehow resonates so much with the pain I felt through the years I was struggling to believe in god and hold onto a faith that was crumbly since I was about 9. Accepting myself as an atheist in my early 20's was both, a very painful arrival and also, a relief.

All amazing! His voice, his face, his hair, his song! 🙏 amen aaaaamen

I still wish he would've been more mainstream, his debut album alone deserves a grammy
