For those who don’t know I recently joined a live competition for producers that timbaland judges live. Someone tried claiming my beat as theirs and luckily I caught them with a lot of other people. The version they stole luckily was not the same quality as mine and I decided to post a video explaining the situation and the highlight footage. Many asked if I was upset about it and I said no. Reason being was this proved to be the perfect reason as to why I copyright my work, also I feel blessed to see that timbaland was feeling it. This video is not an attack on timbaland and #beatclub , just me speaking up on how some producers try to cheat on these platforms. I hope this helps others who make music as well as for those who have questions . And I hope it helps these platforms with increasing their security for artists and producers ... If you don't want to give away free beats, you can offer exclusive discounts, beats that aren't available to the general public, etc.

They wont use your beat unless they pay because you could take it down, its still your intellectual property, if they dont have file with license they cant use it legally.

@Liam Pinard if you send beats with a small contract, if they use it in any way that's not authorized you can file a DMCA claim to take it down. Highly suggest watching DJ pain on yt he goes over alot of legal stuff

The copyright thing eludes me personally, but if you at least email it to yourself that could be a start. As for the tags, you could put your artist, album in your Windows Media Player or your Mac music playing program.

Hey, if the tag is continuous throughout the beat, please contact us at support@airbit.com. If there is one tag in the intro, you may want to contact the producer, as they can confirm if the beat contains an intro tag, or if it was left on by mistake.

can you send the same beat do multiple artists at a time. then if one artists wants to use one, then I guess its a "you snooze you lose" deal with the other artists...?

It depends if someone buys the exclusive rights or not. You can lease beats non-exclusively, meaning multiple people can use the beat. If you sell the exclusive license, it can't be sold any more but anyone with a non-exclusive license can still use the beat within the terms of their contract. Depends what you're trying to achieve. If you want to upsell more beats, the store link is better. However, this provides more distractions = less likely to complete the purchase. Sending only the tagged beat means less distractions, so they're more likely to focus on the beat you send and make a decision about using/buying it

If it’s a big artist don’t bother, if it’s a smaller artist ( up to about 500k subs) you can take the risk, but you can try dming them first
