My very first static was kinda casual. They kicked me because I got the first clear of O3s alone in the PF and not with them. It was on a Monday evening and it was a practice group for the "hard" mechanic of that fight. The PF cleard within 3 pulls.

Hey, sounds like they solved your problem for you.

Being skilled player in a casual raid group is one of the most painful things. You want better teamwork with harder challenges, you know you're carrying so much dead weight, you want to call out every lazy heeldragger into the spotlight so they get better. But you can't, because half the raid are best buddies who ride or die for life, so nobody can punish anybody for bad play. Also raid leader girlfriend will turn everything against you in some next level legendary drama about you trying to destroy the guild. So you settle for mediocrity until you just can't take it anymore and quit at 3AM, blocking everyone before you go.

... or just clear it on pf and still play with them. Like you said, you play with casual raid group, so they don't have any responsibility to rush the clear for you. And if you managed to clear first without them, you can say something when somebody keeps dying like "Hey, this is something I learned on PF", even though you didn't. If they get mad at you cuz of that, then you are the person that the whole group hate or the group is just toxic.

​@docf8202 except that casuals can also be power tripping control freaks. The casual group I was in lost members around p8s and one of the new recruits cleared it in pf one week after he joined to be ready for top and the raidlead kicked him from the discord in the middle of explaining that.

Near the end of stormblood I left a casual raid group and it went something like this : "I like you guys, but I realized the raid group does not fit the way I want to play the game and I want to quit. It has nothing to do with who you are as persons, in fact I probably would have left long ago if it weren't for you guys. It's been great, I'll see you again!". No issue whatsoever after that

@@Whosimon then by definition it's not a casual group... casuals just play for fun. A straight up toxic group like this is exclusively for toxic people and be glad to be kicked early than stay long enough with them.

I used to be in a casual raiding party and we all had fun, and I was "more skilled" compared to everyone else as I caught onto mechs easily and had a good grasp on my job, sometimes I did wish I had joined a less casual group, but it didn't really matter all that much. Hell I've cleared the raids on PF but was happy to clear with them, and it was just as exciting to see that boss fall down when we finally beat their ass. They were all busy folks and we all understood what times we can go at or not, that's what I loved. Those who want more challenge or want to go at a faster pace can totally move on from their casual group, but I think the most pain comes from staying when you should have left a long time ago, building up hate and toxicity.

I left my first static after Eden's Verse to do ultimate. Didn't burn any bridges but it ended up being the right call because I think most of them stopped playing altogether after Asphodelos. Still miss them though.

i'm in my first roster and i'm feeling the difference in investment. this will be our last tier together but we're gonna stay friends

my first static was a uwu static, didnt get past ifrit and the static was once a week so i practiced in pf made it to ultima and then the static just stopped calling for prog for a solid two months used those months to finish and get the clear in pf.

Good friends will understand. I have a CASUAL group. and I mean SUPER casual. We cleared p10 like... a month ago. it took... a long time. But chill is chill :) and i can prog on my own time.
