What are you saying? Her mother probably died when she was a baby, and her father was the only person who understood her, until he died and she was adopted by her dad's best friend, who occur to be the actual villain of the movie and the man who killed her father after he discovered his villainous purposes.

Her mother is a stereotypical hyper-feminine woman, which is why she thinks she can't be a scientist AND a feminine woman. She'll never realize that she could be both; by the end of the movie/series, she will either have given up science and embraced femininity for her male costar, or still be a butch scientists who rejects the idea of ever finding love.

@KZread Is a Joke Being woke isn’t an issue. Playing god is. Right wingers and left wingers alike both think they have the answers to how life should be. You both impose your lifestyles and ideals upon your peers and the world around you. The ones that claim they are woke are really just sheep following a trend. People have taken the term and massacred it with these strange attachments of what it means to be woke in the first place. Modern society is ass backwards on both sides of the playing field.

@shm mht we're specifically talking about scientists in sci-fi movies right now. Of course I'm not referring to a physical fight lol. But of course, I hope you know that it's not realistic for a skinny man who works an office job to be able to take out 10-15 dudes, or for a man to shoot multiple moving targets with insane accuracy while also rolling behind cover. If we're talking about action movies, they're inherently unrealistic, and I only see people say that it's "cringe" when a woman is doing the unrealistic thing.

I never understand why being a scientist means you can't be feminine... Or, I guess thinking about it now, it could be a sub-conscious sexist thing because either feminine = being womanly, and being womanly = being dumb, OR because being a scientist = being manly, and being manly = being masculine- not feminine. Or both. I dunno. I could also be overthinking it. Maybe it has nothing to do with sexism. Either way it's annoying and makes no sense.
