Buy what you love. Watch was never a good investment unless its those most sort after ones. The rest is on luck.

Double retail will be the initial asking price not selling. Eventually it will settle just below the batgirl/ batman as blue will still be the more desirable than black.

Yeah the figures quoted are quite silly, but it all depends on quantity coming out from Rolex. If they produce these, the prices will be significantly below any other SS gmt.

I like that DeepSea, but that is probably my 1985 hip hop personality speaking. Thankfully that version of me only exists in my memory or imagination now, so I am never gonna be a buyer for that watch, but I do kinda like it. I'd love to try on tbf. The new GMT is the first GMT I have ever liked, not had any interest in the other more colourful versions. If I won the Lotto, I'd skip all the diamond set Daytona, I'd go for a precious metal day/date.

I also have the first year model DS when it came out in 2008. Love it as I am a 6”6” 280lb middle aged man with big wrists and forearms. Unfortunately, anything smaller than 42mm looks like a women’s watch on my wrist. I will be a buyer of this watch after a year and hope to buy 10%-20% below MSRP!

Rolex are working through repositioning themselves in the market, leaning into precious metals and will continually bring all prices up in line with that as we are seeing. Tudor will eventually slot into that mid tier luxury segment that Rolex was sitting in in the 90s early noughties.

Hi Charlie, goodness, I’ve watched so many videos on Rolex’s new releases. I purchased my late wife the diamond set Pearlmaster so I can agree the quality of the stones and setting is perfect in all respects.. I do like the dress Platinum 1908 ⌚️too. I see they were other Swiss prestige watch manufacturers with new stunning new releases, not just Rolex. I will now consider my security before any new Watch purchase. 🙏 as always.

I really like the new GMT GRNR! Probably because it reminds me of the old 116710 LN that I really liked and in my opinion was very underrated. Obviously the Pepsi will Always be the winner due to historical reasons, but I would prefer this new black-gray over the Batman and the sprite without any doubt!

In reality people wearing real Rolexes are still a very marginal percentage of people. And I live in a town with an AD that’s 5 min away from my work and our clientele is from the rich side of town. I see maybe 1-2 a week tops but it’s stilll very much something only the top can afford reasonably. Watching Rolex videos gives an inflated sense of how they might be commonplace but in the real world it’s not so. Much often I am disappointed when I wrist check a person because it looks like they might have a Rolex (or omega/breitling) and it’s just an invicta or a citizen. Respect to my Tudor brethren out there and also respect to seiko/orient/casio wearers. Negative respect for any smartwatch especially apple

So I’m sort of leaning toward a gmt master 2 on an oyster bracelet. I like the plain black and gray bezel. For now I can say that’s what I’m leaning towards.

You’re not getting a steel daydate 😂. That is ridiculous. Why would Rolex want to make 2k profit margin on a steel watch for same movement/function instead of 20k on full gold watch. If they did that it would be complete stupidity.

Great videos been watching over 1 year. I placed my interest at an AD for 126610ln (waited over 12 months) but got a call and they offered me a 124060 instead at RRP of course. Should I go for it? or should I wait for who knows how long for the 126610ln? I know in some cases the 124060 is prefered due to its sleek design and heritage however i'm hoping i wont regret not having the extra date functionality from time to time (always have my phone on me so its a non issue really). The no date is starting to grow on my actually. Let me know your thoughts!

I love the new GMT, it's subtle and gritty. Not too cartoonish. I got my name down asap with my AD for this watch. Also really glad they didn't discontinue the OP Celebration, I'm down for one of those too. Overall I'm personally happy. I don't get why Rolex should be obliged to have a huge year every year and reinvent the wheel. People are way too demanding. You don't see Porsche for example releasing a totally new line of cars every year. If it ain't broke don't fix it... be patient for a bigger release another year and the anticipation will be worth it.

Just to clarify, those Daytonas are not the off-catalogue models. There have been off-catalogue releases alongside tho, wild pieces, full baguette bracelets, SARU bezel.

Funny that the only people upset that Rolex didn’t discontinue the Pepsi are these grey dealers.

I think Rolex had such an anticlimactic W&W in order to tamper down expectations. Ben Clymer said he would like to see Rolex do absolutely nothing in order to send that message to the market. Recently Rolex’s CEO said watches are not investments. Maybe this is Rolex’s way of calming down the market.

Western mentality. There is another world out there beyond Western tastes chap.

Looks like Rolex are expecting the market to fall a little bit more. One single SS new release. Tons of full gold new combinations, where the margins are much higher in absolute numbers. I expect ADs to offer discounts on these PM pieces. The market has not reverted its downward trend, despite bitcoin going back to peak and inflation being contained 🤔...

I don't get it, gem set in Daytona range. It's a sports watch, how does that work as a tool? It's supposed to be a tachymeter bezel 😂

None of the Rolex new releases appeals to me personally and they certainly are moving towards sky high priced pieces giving nothing in steel and reducing the variety of dials for Datejusts. Rolex seem to be going for the super high end market leaving Tudor to take up the slack in steel watches. Some interesting watches elsewhere at W&W24 but Rolex and Tudor didn’t inspire. It wasn’t too many years ago Rolex were evolving even more slowly so we can’t expect exciting changes year on year.

You're the Same person who said 2 weeks ago "you have it on good authority the pepsi is being discontinued "... what you should have said - I'm a grey watch dealer and the more I convince people of scarcity the more money I make ...... Not very honest watchdealer....

So what if the pepsi did not get discontinued? It is still coming in such small numbers that it is impossible to get. The haters are gloating but the fact is you will spend years not having the watch. Buying grey just means you get to have and enjoy the piece. If by a miracle one day you get a call for one, you have a wonderful problem of having 2 super valuable GMTs. That’s it. Dealers are just market makers, doesn’t matter if over or below MSRP.

At Watches and Wonders, no one stood in front of the new black/gray GMT window. Most people were looking at the new 1908 and new Daytonas. I highly doubt the market will be hot for that new GMT my friend.
