How Valuable are 1976 BICENTENNIAL QUARTERS? Do You Own this Rare Coin?

The 1976 Bicentennial quarter is one of the first coins I can remember collecting. My dad used to give me all the 1976 bicentennial quarters he got in change and I saved every one of them. How can you tell if a bicentennial quarter is worth a lot of money? Watch this video to find out! Learn more here: thesilverpicker.com/how-much-...

    I'm a beginner coin "hobbyist"... I appreciate all the information. And I'm having a exciting time looking for rare and cool coins. I've found the 1941, 42, and 43 half dollar, quarter, nickle, and penny sets... tons of bicentennial quarters, wheat pennies, and war nickel. And although nothing I have so far is terribly valuable, I'm having a blast. I found my first 2022 drooling George quarter and I'm tickled pink. Maybe one day I'll run across a very nice find. And again, THANK YOU!

  • @tashamarie8877

    @tashamarie8877

    Жыл бұрын

    @@nicholespencer7436 hi Nichole ❤️. the drooling George is basically a die chip (or several die chips,) in the corner of George's mouth ( call it Herpe George lol) The 2022 Women quarters Sally Ride, Maya Angelou, Nina Otero-Warren, Wilma mankiller and Anna may Wong. I found it specifically on the Sally Ride "Haley's Comet ☄️" variety. Not all the 'haleys comets' are also drooling George's but some are. There must mlbe tons out there because Ive found like 4 that have both the Haley's Comet and the drooling George As far as I know it's mainly found on the woman's series but I could be mistaken, there may be other quarters that have the oddity as well.... I'm still a noob myself, I've only been collecting for little over a year. When my dad passed away, he had a very small collection and I wanted to keep his collection going so I started learning. It's been a fun ride so far. There is soooooo much to learn though... Lawd!!! In addition to the drooling George's there are also 'warts' to look for it's basically small die chips on the forehead or on the edge of the nose. Little chips that look like little warts... I hope this helps 😀 if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask I'll help in anyway I can 🥰

You would be wise to help those uninformed that need to sell, of course this will enable you to make a fair profit- it's a win for you and a win for the person who needs a trusted buyer. The very large price difference is due to a couple of things, those are first and formost the large did has to due with the bidders and ultimately the end price tag. With that you then also have an equal contributor being the name on the graded coin and it's previous owner who's part/roll in the Numismatic community and his renown. Thanks for the great clips and keep them coming.

    The most expensive bicentennial quarter that he is showing in this Video is MS69 "Bicentennial business strike" that came from the San Francisco Mint so far they only found "3" Coins like this out of 5 Million..The Philadelphia and the Denver Mint they produced 1.6 billion bicentennial quarter's..A Rare 1976-D bicentennial quarter with a Strong Clash Die they are going for $1,246 dollars..Most of the bicentennial quarters out there are very common maybe $8 to $10 dollars with the "S" Mark they are 40% Silver $24 to $144 dollars.. maybe if you have an error coin or a double die you would have to look that up to see the value..💰👀💰

    If you send that quarter out to get graded I believe that cost about $30 dollars and it takes 2 to 3 weeks..A quarter's before 1965 was almost 100% silver..A steel magnetic coin unfortunately is very common and not very affordable in most cases..Coins from England and Canada are made of steel they would be magnetic in the United States there is no coins that is magnetic maybe the 1943 steel penny that's it..!!

    I have found so many 1976 bicentennial quarters while metal detecting that it’s just unbelievable. I always keep them to the side lol I think one of the reasons certain coins go for amounts of money that is unbelievable to comprehend is because of who’s coin collection it came from. there are some collectors who have sort of a star status in the world of coin collecting and other collectors for whatever reason just have to have one of their coins.

    This is true. When something has belonged to a famous person, it raises the value. I have been interested in the life of Marilyn Monroe for most of my life. A few years ago, I was browsing a used book store. I was drawn to a certain book on the $1.00 table. It was an older psychology book, an early self-help sort. I recognized the title as one of the titles of books that Marily loved, she read over & over, making notes in the margins. Yep, it had belonged to Marilyn Monroe. When Marilyn was reading, she would twirl her fingers in her hair. As I looked through the book, I saw several strands of hair between the pages. I bought the book. When DNA testing became available, I had some of the hairs with the follicles still attached, tested. I got ahold of a DNA profile of Marilyn & it was an identical match. The book had been her personal property, the hairs were from her. It was expensive to have this done, it was so worth it! The book, notes in the margins, hairs with follicles, are worth much more than the $1. I paid.

    my grandfather passed away from covid last year (on my bday of all days). he'd saved all his change since before I was born, so needless to say there was a TON! his kids ended up cashing all of the coins in at the bank and splitting the cash between all the grandkids. when I found out that's what had been done, I couldn't help but wish they'd kept my portion in coins! I've been interested in error coins and such for years now, but I've failed to continuously be on the lookout for them just because I've never been able to find a decent info source with a comprehensive list. I always end up giving up after awhile bc every site on the subject seems to just mention coins so sporadically. I've also got like 10 or so rolls of old pennies that my bf got from his great uncle. I've been wanting to open em up and go thru em, but want to know which dates & or varieties to be on the look out for.

    Total mintages for business strike coins of the 1976 Bicentennial quarters comprised the following: 1776-1976 copper-nickel clad from Philadelphia (no mintmark): 809,784,016 1776-1976-D copper-nickel clad from Denver: 860,118,839 Three special edition coins were specifically marketed to coin collectors. These included the following: 1776-1976-S Proof copper-nickel clad: 7,059,099 1776-1976-S uncirculated silver-clad (40% silver): 11,000,000* 1776-1976-S Proof silver-clad (40% silver): 4,000,000* *Several million silver Bicentennial quarters were melted in the 1980s. So while there are still millions of silver 1976 Bicentennial quarters around, that number is nowhere near the 15 million originally made. According to James Bucki from The Spruce Crafts. Since the circulation coins were made by the billions they sacrified the quality for quantity to ensured all Americans had access to these coins to discourage hoarding, then the special finishes and silver composition coins were created at the San Francisco Mint specifically for collectors in which, they were made with great care.

    I found a 1971 quarter clad proof cameo with the s mint mark in a coin roll and some very beautiful examples of regular strike bicententials. I have a few others that are deep cameo regular strike bicentennials with all the details. Out of the 20 or so that I have pulled out of pocket change atleast 3 are in near mint state. Pretty wild the stuff you can find. The only thing that could be my guess as to what would make these coins more valuble outside of the high mintage and variety may be the provenance behind the coin, perhaps that uncirculated 1976-s bicentennial was owned by Elvis or something? Who knows...
