They didnt know either. The truth is, once you get health problems that are chronic, nothing in life prepares you for it and you just have to find ways to live with it. You learn what does and doesn't help control your pain. You go through many treatments that do nothing and feel discouraged every time something doesn't work. It's extremely tough and it drags many people into mental health problems but you only have one body and if you want to keep living, you keep trying treatments. You keep navigating bad days knowing not every day will be that bad. You find things that work such as therapy, the right med combo and learn to find joy in the little things. Chronic health problems are incredibly trying but every single human on this planet is able to find a way through it. I get the sentiment but it's just pure survival when it comes down to it. I have chronic illness myself so if it sounds like I'm coming from experience, I am. You never know how strong you really are until being strong is your only option to continue living.

+Areona Howard Please look up Dr bergs info on Excess androgens and estrogen dominance. Honey you have to start with your diet and go Organic plant based. The F& Veg you are consuming is GMO. GMO's are plants engineered to tolerate huge amounts of pesticides and these pesticides are mimicking estrogen in your body. Livestock fed grain are eating it too and if you eat them you are getting it through them also. You don't need to suffer just make some big changes to nourish your body and balance its systems. So True. Mine are huge. I look like Im 7 months pregnant. I am scheduled for fibroid removal next month. My Dr has the understanding of not TOUCHING my uterus only if my life depends on it. I have put this off for 3 years. Changed my diet exercised took herbs and still the fibroids grew. I had to come to terms that I was mentally physically and spiritually ready for the surgery. It took a while for me to get here but Im at peace about it.

Bless you sisters for sharing your stories, I know it’s scary. I had uterine fibroid surgery at the end of 2017 (myomectomy) and the scariest part is that they didn’t know if they would be able to save my uterus or not, so Before surgery i signed a document that stated if my uterus was damaged due to the fibroids that they would do a full hysterectomy. That was pretty scary, as I don’t have kids but would like to have the option of giving birth in the future. Either way, surgery went great, uterus was fully intact, all fibroids were on the outside of the uterus. they removed 12 fibroids ranging from the size of a pea to a small squash... my belly before surgery was apparently the size of a woman who was 10-weeks pregnant. I was in the hospital for 4 days post surgery and the recovery took 6-weeks. I have more energy and my cycles are a lot better. I was told that the fibroids could come back, Doctor’s can’t tell me how fast that they can grow as it’s all based on hormones, so nothing in terms of diet that I can do (always helps to eat healthy tho). I was also told that bc the fibroids can come back that I should consider having kids within the next 5 years and that a total hysterectomy is recommended after I am done having kids to keep the fibroids from coming back.

I've had 4 fibroid removals by the age of 26, and I've had my symptoms regarded with so much suspicion because people think I'm being melodramatic about a heavy cycle. I've had cramps so bad I've ended up on the floor in a cold sweat on the verge of passing out, and at its worst, I was losing 1L of blood every month. I'm so lucky that my last removal and hormone treatment seems to have worked miracles for me, and I could cry just thinking about how it's given me a mostly normal quality of life now. Thank you so much for bringing light to this, Boldly.

So frustrating to see how many hoops these women needed to jump through to get the diagnosis and treatment that they needed. So many women I know have had to fight tooth and nail to get their voices heard by their own gp when they know something is wrong. The medical community needs to start listening to women when they speak rather than brushing them off because of stereotypes about women being dramatic and normalization of things that should not be normal (ie debilitating and extremely painful periods)

Its the pesticides sprayed on crops that mimics estrogen and causes estrogen dominance. I had two so big they ruptured during pregnancy and that was worse pain than childbirth. I wish i knew then what i know now. I have gotten rid of them by changing my diet. Organic whole plant based diet. Anti inflammatory rainbow food. I eat a little grass fed meat and fish but i feel ten years younger, no longer have pain, they have gone. please please follow the breadcrumbs, i don't trust doctors. They are in the business of medicating symptoms and removing body parts NOT functional medicine and integrative health. There are other options promise.

I would love to make a video about my story on fibroids. My symptoms were so severe I literally felt like I wasn’t going to make it another day due to too much blood loss . I ended up getting surgery. I’m glad there’s a video on this to inform other women. A lot of women I’m close with kept quiet about personal health struggles. I didn’t know fibroids ran in my family until after my surgery. It would’ve been nice to talk to someone before hand.

I delayed but after travelling for holiday and speaking with 2 other doctors I met, they were surprised I was holding back and shocked my doctor didn't push me to do the surgery (in UK) luckily I met a fantastic surgeon and got it done. He was able to save my womb in case of kids in future. Now need to find a decent partner.

Thank you for making this video! It's been almost one year since I had my fibroid removed through a laparoscopic myomectomy. Fibroids are so incredibly common for people with uteruses, especially for black people with uteruses, and doctors aren't always as helpful as they could be. It took me three doctors (and a healthy amount of begging) to get the treatment I needed. Listening to your body is SO important. You know it better than anyone else. Spreading information and raising awareness is imperative to helping people living with fibroids get the treatment they need. Thank you to all the people in this video for sharing their stories! You are so brave and beautiful!

I can relate to this. I had a myomectomy in 2016. They removed 5 tumors and left a very large one behind because they couldn’t remove it without removing my uterus. The other fibroids came back a year later! I’m 38 and never had a child. Very anemic. Considering a hysterectomy because the pain is too much. 😢

I’m actually thrilled to see this video. I’m 33 and I been diagnosed with having Fibroids and of course, this affects everyone differently, I only had the very heavy cycle and now it’s becoming painful. I recently had and ultrasound and Ob appt shortly afterwards and the fibroid is 4cm and it’s laying across the bottom half of my uterus and on my bladder which make need to urinate frequently and urgently. I was like Bianca and blew it off but 2 summers ago I lost weight because i was actually working out but when my cycle came it was extremely heavy, losing the lining of my uterus every time I had to go to the bathroom for 7-10 days. I had an examine and my dr couldn’t see anything because there was so much blood on my uterus and I was not on my cycle at the time. I had a uterine biopsy done and now figuring what the next steps.

I am the most blessed person on earth right now because i am free from fibroids...i am here to give my testimony about Dr OMO who helped me cure my fibroid, i want to inform the public how i was cured from (FIBROID) by Dr OMO Herbal Home, i visited different hospital but they gave me list of drugs which is very expensive to treat the symptoms and they never cured me. Three months ago a friend suggested that I should try herbal medicine from a very powerful herbal doctor called Dr OMO, I looked up his blog on the internet site and indeed he had immense success with his product. There were lot of persons posting their testimony about how he cured them. when i contacted him he gave me hope and send a Herbal medicine for me to take and how to take it... i took the herbal medicine for just 11 days and i noticed a huge change in my body system and i continued the medications for another 1 week and after that, Dr OMO asked me to go and do a text from the lab to see if i still have the sickness and to my greatest surprise my FIBROID is gone..my FIBROID result just came out negative. My doctor was shocked how i got cured. I am so happy as i am sharing this testimony. My advice to you all who thinks that there is no cure for FIBROID that is Not true...Remember health is wealth...you can contact him on him Email at dromo596@gmail.com and WhatsApp on +2349033505260... He can as well cure 1.PCOD/PCOS 2.BLOCKED FALLOPIAN TUBES 3.HERPES 4.IRREGULAR PERIODS 5. MENSTRUAL CRAMPS or CAN'T CONCEIVE etc...

I'm hearing, and seeing, a very frightening trend here-doctor's not adequately informing their patients, not informing them at all, or simply throwing pills at signs of something that could be serious. It's a well known fact that African American women are more prone to uterine fibroids, so why weren't these women treated more thoroughly and promptly?

What gets me is why medical science still see fibroids as a 'mystery', more research would be great!! Uterine artery embolisation worked for me after a year of heavy bleeding due to small fibroids but too small/wrong position for myomectomy... Research all avenues and don't rush is my advice, and remember everyone is different, and so are the fibroids and the way they grow.

So proud of the women for sharing their journey. I also, found out about two years ago that I have fibroids and let me tell you the symptoms are no joke. I am severely anemic. I have done over 4 blood transfusions within the two years, I just did another blood transfusing last week, I refused to do it earlier at the doctors suggestion and I ended up passing out at the hospital and we had to do a blood transfusion right away, the same goes for all the iron transfusion I have done. Taking Lupron, MRI scans , ultrasounds to find out where the fibroid and how large it is. This is no joke, I feel the same as the women who said, going out in public is hard because you don’t know if your going to bleed through your pad and have a embarrassing accident. I just want it out and when it out I pray that it doesn’t grow back but I have heard so many stories of it growing back and people saying what the point. The point is I want it out and it out now, fibroids does affect your way of life. When I am at work, I can’t function and be at 100% at home, I can be productive and do house chores, I don’t want to go outside because I don’t want embarrass myself or if I can’t get to washroom to change my pad, it soooo bad. I will be happy to get it rid of it.

Just the mere size of it was causing my symptoms like back pain and bowel pressure and constipation. I also looked pregnant. Luckily no heavy bleeding. I was the most scared person. I never wanted to have kids due to the fact that I have a fear of birth, natural and c section. Now here I was faced with having to a c section like procedure. Now that I have had it done, I'm more open to having kids in the future.(crazy) I'm at home now recovering and glad to have this past me. Best of luck to anyone having this.

All came back good but it’s a terrifying experience. Right now they are going to try and iud to control the symptoms but should that not work my only other option is to remove the uterus completely. Part of it is my fault I neglected getting my regular pap done, we need to take care of ourselves before we let the issues we feel get out of control.

The term 'cycle' is how ever long it lasts from one menstruation to the next menstruation with the follicular phase ovulation, and the luteal phase in between.

Im 35 with fibroids for the past 7 yrs... now ive never had the desire to have kids as long as I can remember, so because my quality of life has decreased drastically since ive developed more fibroids, severe anemia, a very thick womb lining, blocked fallopian tubes and a polyp. Ive decided to do a hysterectomy next year where i will keep my ovaries and cervix. From having a history of fibroids among the ladies in my family the probability that they will return is high, hence my decision to do this procedure. Thank u ladies for sharing your stories.

I’m Susan Ray from USA...

I'm at work crying coz I'm afraid I won't be able to have kids. I have fibroids and they've grown a lot in the last 3 years but there seems to be an obstacle come up whenever I have to have surgery. I'm just praying to God to see me through and take care of me and my mum when I have to go next month. Being afraid of not being able to take care of finances especially when you need a job is scary but I also need to be healthy. You've just inspired me to make it happen and now! Thanks!

My mother just had her uterus taken out because of this and long continuous periods for months at a time. She feels so much better and she says it was well worth it. However she is 47 so removing her uterus wasn’t as much of an emotional thing since she is past her child bearing years.

Didnt find out i had fibroids until i was pregnant. I just never registered any of my symptons as due to fibroids. Before they found them on my ultrasound i didnt even know what fibroids were. Dont have any plan for them as of now since my symptons as of now are still very mild. Its still tough tho.

Has it gotten better or worse? Waiting is a tactic for them to get the money instead of telling you preventive measures. It is a billion dollar industry to hundreds of thousands U.S. women get hysterectomies. I think that’s so wicked & I hate it. They talk nothing nutrition, sleep, stress management, cleaning products and beauty products, just surgery, surgery, surgery. I’m under 35 with no children & that’s all the doctor presented. 😒 I need to find another Gyno too but until then, I invite you to join The Fibroid Queen private group on Facebook for support. Follow Chef Aki on Instagram. Might help.

Denica they’re also symptoms for everyday life, sometimes you can just have a minor problem that doesn’t need doctors. Let it slide for a month, if you still have them maybe try the doctors :)

These are also signs of chronic illnesses if you're having very heavy bleeding meaning filling a heavy pad within hours see a gynecologist ASAP! Don't wait like that one lady said she was near the lines of qualifying for a blood transfusion. It can also be something called endometriosis, PCOS or something outside the gynecology world but it's best to address it sooner than later and be safe than sorry

My mother had fibroids after having me. Hers was no where near as serious. Her hemoglobin would drop to half of what it should have been during. It would take her till her next period for it to return to normal. She eventually had to have her uterus removed. After having the surgery, she has been so happy and is so glad that she went through the surgery. ❤️
