Boot camp certainly is no joke. It all takes a matter of patience, hard work, endurance and determination to become a more disciplined version of yourself.

*sophia isabelle* Eh not entirely accurate. In fact, my high school football teams *hell week* was more intense than Marine Corps Bootcamp when I was in. Even SOI (School of Infantry) wasn't that bad because my time playing football in high school + family dynamics prepared me for it. Now, as far as going through RIP (Recon Indoc Prorgram) and SERE (Survival Evasion Resistance Escape) Schools goes? That's a bit different; especially with SERE as there's different levels one undergoes through. Needless to say, it's not so much of a joke, but more so life traits required to succeed; just like in real life. After all, life is all about patience, hard work, endurance, and determination to succeed are they not? You're welcome.

That's why a lot of idiots get tru that are more of a danger to them selves than the enemy. Me and a team from ARW Ireland went up against Ur Rangéra and beat them, then we wiped the floor with the seals. Look it up. Our skills have been passed down the generations, we've been shooting at live targets since the muskets were invented 😂 serves the Brits right. This al true and in good humour and most importantly, wit all due professional courtesy, and much love and respect To all my brothers in arms stay safe,. just go AWOL if UV to invade the emerald Isle 😂😂 peace

Nov 2006 to June 2009 I was a civilian const manager responsible for building a 1000 man self sustaining base for the Iraqi Army in Al Qaim, Iraq Anbar Province. We traveled from Alasad to Al Qaim a few times on the Osprey, but most times on the CH47 or CH53 helo's. All these airships were cool as hell, the Osprey power was especially awesome but I was even more impressed with and ohh so proud of the pilots who flew them and the crew who maintained took care of our and the aircraft's security. I was a US Army 11B10 1967 to 1969 then attended and graduated OCS. Attended and graduated Artillery Officer School at Ft. Sill in 1970. Was an artillery officer to 1973. As an FO I flew in the US Army Beaver but never was in an aircraft like the CH53 or Osprey until I was in Iraq. The CH47 have been in service since VietNam. This compilation of US Army training is very good.

The worst part of the training was the "4 count" used for exercises.... twenty jumping jacks doesn't sound so bad until you realize that each count entails FOUR jumping jacks. Not to mention starting over again every time someone messes up. I think we probably did five hundred jumping jacks my first day. My calves were on FIRE!

In Coast Guard boot camp, my worst nightmare was 2 things...one was 6 hours a day of boring monotonal education from the DULLEST teachers you never saw as a kid in school, and second was pool training, because I'm the one-in-a-thousand guys who is NEGATIVELY BUOYANT and would sink like rock whilst the rest of the class happily bobbed around like a fishing cork. The Guard didn't give up on me, and I spent 2 extra weeks in boot until I managed to pass via coping mechanisms, plus won my Marksmans medal in the meantime. I hunted as a kid, but couldn't shoot tightly strapped in a rifle sling as they do; soon as I could sneak that sling loose, I was making fair 400 yd shots, as I remember.

I remember the 1rst 2 days or so of Boot Camp. Then sporadic memories: extreme drills, a couple of suicides, some classroom stuff, got in trouble at chow and I moved a dirt pile from spot to spot with a shovel for 3 days and then... Week 5. We were allowed to clean outside of the barracks and near Day 1 intakes, and their trash. 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 cigarettes!!! Dip!! All forms of tobacco, it was amazing, so needed! And a set up 🤣 we got mashed for who cares how long 😆 But, from that week until graduation was when we learned the most and became ready for the real work 👍

@@tandemdwarf745 Although it is only 60 percent as radioactive as natural uranium, depleted uranium is still chemically and radiologically toxic. Studies showing that children’s leukemia cases increased by 60 percent between 1990 and 1997 and that birth defects tripled between 1990 and 1998 in Basra, Iraq. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) published a 1991 report indicating that deploying depleted uranium in the Gulf War could have caused 500,000 cancer deaths.

AIT is not boot camp. A lot more screaming and pushups and a lot less hair in boot camp than there is in AIT for officers unless the army has really REALLY changed.
