Self reflection and inner growth really helped me in my healing journey. A huge turning point was when I found your channel and realized what I was feeling was normal. And instead of stuffing it down it was OK to feel them. I learned how to process emotions by naming them, figuring out why I have them and being able to express them in a more healthy way. This all was a huge turning point in my journey and I am forever grateful to both of you for that! I can not WAIT for your book ❤

Trust has not yet been repaired in our relationship after porn, and my husband wants to replace his addiction with swimming. It’s a great choice, but I’m SO uncomfortable with him being around women in swimsuits since he was doing it behind my back while he continued to relapse. Now he says he’s gone without porn for nearly six months and feels that I just don’t want him to go swim, and swimming isn’t really the issue…it’s trust. ??? What to do…

Thanks for sharing this. He hears you as saying he can’t swim. He doesn’t hear your heart saying that you are hurt from his previous actions and that in this season of your life building trust is important. And his words and actions must align and be trustworthy. I pray he is able to hear your heart. There could be other options available if truly swimming was the ultimate way for him to have a hobby. All male pool, off hours, private pool, etc. it’s also important to know that replacing a bad habit with a good habit is NOT healing. It is making temporary better choices. However, it’s not healing. Healing comes from a surrender and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And He heals us. Swimming is a hobby used as a distraction that can help.

I just found your channel, and I'm looking forward to listening because this is something we are trying to work on in our marriage... However, her microphone isn't on, or it isn't turned up properly. The sound quality between the two of you when you talk is very different, and very noticeable in this video and it's kind of hard to listen to and I'm only 2-3 minutes into it.. Otherwise really looking forward to going back to listen to the previous episodes after this one!

Came back to say that I figured out what my sound issue was, I needed headphones because I can hear each of you better in one ear than the other. I can hear her in the left clearly but not the right, and he's on the right. Anyways - this was a great discussion. My husband is currently in the process of becoming law enforcement, and this podcast brought up a really great conversation between the two of us about trauma and coping with trauma. Thank you for sharing your experiences!
