I’ve been trying to write a song and honest,y I just try to think of it like writing a book, a story that can be taken in my different people, and then add music and try to rhyme it or whatever you wanna do with it! Some people actually speak instead of sing in their songs, though I would list that more as a poem it’s still amazing!

You can't copyright a chord progression. There are only so many combinations and only a small fraction are commercially viable anyways. Most popular music is written by a formula similarly to this but with the staff writer's own playbook. Steal all you can, or somebody else who does will get the job and you won't.

I suggest picking an emotion that the song will be about. Or, a general idea/story if you can think of one. This makes the lyrics easier. Instrumentally, music making is difficult to explain though.

I’ve written songs a lot of different ways because it’s always good to make different songs sound different. Some that I’ve used are: Abcbdb (this is the most common) Abcdbebcf Abc And some more complicated ones that would be hard to explain I guess what I’m getting at is that you don’t need a specific template to write a good song but abcbdb is definitely a good one to start out with.

Cool but I almost couldn't make the difference between the melodies of your verse and chorus. They are almost identical.

You can actualy mix this up like sometimes if you want something simple you can do: Into Verse Chorus whatever you did with the intro Or lets say you want something simple but a bit longer: Verse Chorus Verse Pre-Chorus Chorus Pre-Chorus

1) pick 4 chords from a singer I listen to 2) melody line , just replaced the words 3) chorus Use the same chorus but come up with a different melody

What if don’t want to work with sound but you wanna make lyrics and have the words be a tempo like do it in a software and it has like triplets and you can fit the words to a triplet easily. Like making a phonk type of song you want a triplet in the lyric video. Like I’ll make my idea off the sounds in my head and sing or rap and type it in but I’m not singing or rapping bc it’s all in my head. Does reading music make, making a lyric video better since you’ll memorize what you want better ??? I have ear issues so audio hurts my ears and can make my tinnitus louder worse and it gives me anxiety and breathing problems with my anxiety bc of my tinnitus. Just tryna find ways to help myself make music in some way and maybe sell my lyric ideas and tempo of the song. I guess learnin what key and notes I’m trying to relay to the listener and how I would want someone to sing it would be easier if I knew about like the other way of studying music like on paper.

I guess you just have to write authentically and the words will come naturally at least for me (sometimes writing using metaphors sounds really good)

This is how you create bad music. If you want to make good music the learn to play an instrument (and learn to play it well), develop your music theory through time and practice, then experiment. Don’t just follow templates or formulas… it’s gonna be bland and boring.

Is it normal that at the beginning you think that your songs are horrible?
