Love you guys for this. Thank you greatly!
This helped me so much cuz I thought my amp was breaking by going into protective mode over and over but I just had the wrong set up inside the Box
Wow....dude I'd give two thumbs up if I could..... Thank you
Most helpful I've seen. Thanks
Thanks alot for making this video!
Thanks knowing this helps out tremendously
hey just wondering i got a clarion wg3010 subs and want to get another one just wondering if i can run them off a kenwood 8105d without damaging the subs or will i have to get a second amp
so i have a 5 channel boss chaos epic 2500 amp that will be powering 2 6x9 kickers and 2 single 4 ohm shallow mount pioneers 12s. how should i hook them up? should i do 4 ohms? 2 ohm by parallel? i may even add another 10 inch rockford fosgate. but for now just the 2 12s. your input on how to set this up would be really great as this is gonna be the first system i set up myself. thanks, bryce
i have the fosgate p3 dvc dual 4 ohm subs, how would i hook them up to a fosgate 800a2 amp?? also what would be the best box, i have a huge chevy passenger van??
I have a JL M1000/5 v2 amp, I do have 2 subs, my questions is on my Amp I have four outs, 2 positives and 2 negatives, is it posible to connect the subs in paralles like you demonstrate here and use one positive and one negative in the amp? and if so are there any advantages in sound quality and power? thanks for the videos
i have two 12 inch single voice coil 4 ohm subs, would this wiring system work the same ?
So would you then hook these up to a bridge to get the maximum amount of power to the subs? Example my speakers are 375w and my amp outputs 2 channel at 375 or 1 channel at 750, will this cause problems?
I got 4ohm subs with 2ohm amp big they don’t hit hard would it hit better with 2ohm subs?
What happens if i run another pig tail from the other sub as well.. so wire them both together like you showed... then run 1 tail from one side and another tail from the other side.... But going str8 to the amp ?
When you do this do you need to worry about the subs getting out of phase?
Will this work with pro audio mid ranges. Trying to connect 2 4ohm speakers to a 2ohm final. On a 4channel amp.
So if I have a left & right channel would I have these 2 speakers on the left & another 2 on the right?
how would I then connect this to my amp its a 2 channel apm, do I go +/- to one side/channel of the amp or monoblock wire it?
If my subs have holes in the magnets, is it necessary to have a ported box or can i have a seal enclosure?
Hey guys I have a question I have 2 kickers comp r 10 inch subs can I connect them to an alpine mrp-m500 will that be enough or do I need more watts? And how do I connect them?
What if you have 2 terminal cups in sperate chambers, do I just do positive to positive and negative to negative on the terminal cups and then run speaker wire form positives on each cup and twist em together an stick em in the Amp an do the same with negative?
Thanks!
I have 2 15 in memphis audio rated at 400 rms and 4ohms. I wanna wire them to b 2 ohms is this the correct way to copy?
I would like to know if it's possible to run two single voice coil eight ohm subs to a amplifier that is two ohm stable
I have 2 single voice coil pioneer vccs 12s, and I'm running a crunch gtr3 2000.2 2 channel , 2000 watt amp on them, they're @ 4 ohms now, if I follow these steps here, will this work for my setup to get a 2 ohm load as my end result ?
Dumb question, I'm new to installing my own system and I wanna do a component system, will this set up be the same for a mid and tweeter rated at 4 ohms each?
will this work with speakers I have 2 4 ohm speakers the amp gives me more watts at 2 ohm could that be done
i have 2 12" single 8ohm subs ,can i do that to make ut 4ohm and is that better or leave it as a 8ohm
can you do this same set up with car speakers?
Can you wire these down to 1 ohm??
How can you tell IF your single 4oh sub can be wired to a 2oh load? Will it change the wattage rating of the sub?
Do you have to connect them together? or can you just hook them both up to the same amp channel?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm going to be installing a 5 channel Amp in my suburban to run my mids, highs and an aftermarket sub in the factory sub location so when we go on road trips I can take my big sub box out and still have some beat but I'm trying to figure out how to go about it with the 4 channels I'll be using for the speakers that are going in the factory locations
Can this method be applied while using a crossover?
so with this wiring do I only connect it to one terminal on the box?
With this wire connection setup of speakers run in parallel to make 2ohms now my question do you connect the speaker wires to the amp both wires - & + to one channel or - to one channel and + to the other channel on the amp please explain this one.
Tysm!!!!!
Once there set to 2 ohms can I run them to 2channel 2000 watt amp at 2ohm stable
Could that just be done by wiring the 2 subs via independant wiring straight to the amp channel..
What about 2 12" jl w6v2d4 dual 4 ohm subwoofers that has the jumpers how would i wire both jumpers and amp to 2 ohm?
I have a single 4 ohm sub..can I match with 2 ohm stable amp? Or have to look for 4 ohm mono block?
okay i have two 4 ohms 300rms subs each if i wire them parallel to my amp that has a 600rms 2 ohm setting will i get the 600 rms or not close.
Is this okay to do on a amp per channel? I bought 2 autotek 6.5 n 2 6x9 n 2 6x8 n I run these of a 4 channel?...
i have 2, 10s w7 3ohm will this prosidure lowered them to 1.5 ohm?
So question.... If these subs you are working on say have a 2 ohm impedence when wired as you did. Let's say my mono block amp is 800 watts rms x 1 @ 2 ohm... What should each of these speakers be at rms wise for maximum input... 400?
I have 2 hifonics hfx12d4 in a q bomb ported box running on a mtx tna251. Would wiring from 4 ohms to 2 ohms be better or leaving it alone? Going more for spl than sq.
Can you do this to 4ohm door speakers to ? Or just subwoofers ?
I got thick sky high speaker wire I'm having trouble trying to fit the wire into the sub terminals any suggestions?

can the same thing be done with a say a set of 6.5's ?
It may fluctuate, but as long as it's constant we're good lol seriously though thanks for the explanation
I have a dumb question can u wire a single dvc 4 ohm subwoofer too 2 single 4 ohm subwoofers to get a 1 ohm final load ? thanks
I have the same subs that you just wired up running on a jl audio 500/1 will it drop the amp to 2ohm or a 1ohm load ?
@RamonNunezRey

If each one is 4 ohm then is going to drop to 2 if both are 2 ohm then is going to drop to 1 ohm is just half of the empedance
How do you bridge a dual 2ohm with a dual 4ohm sub on a 2 channel? Thank u
Thanks
Can you do this with speakers or only subwoofers?
The amp is a heritage htg157, I have 2 10cvr104 kickers. I wired them to 2ohms. I'm I correct or am I doing something wrong?
Can you wire a 2ohm and a 4 ohm single coil speaker together with a 1 ohm amp ?
Hi thanks for the video So I have a 2 12 inch subs at 2 ohm each if wired to the final impedance at 2 ohm for both knowing that they 600 rms each will it be 1200 rms total at the final output at 2 ohm or different. The amp I have is skar rp 1500 rms 1 d monobloc It gives 1500 rms stable at 1 ohm and 930 rms at 2 ohm and 550 rms at 4 ohm. My question is if I wire both of them at 2 ohm will it damage the amp know it is rated only at 930 rms at 2 ohm or not ? N B : I have the option to return the subs and get the 4 ohm ones instead at the same power (1200 peak and 600 rms each ) What do you suggest ? thanks a lot
Thankyou very muvh
is it possible to wire 4 dual 2 ohm speakers to 0.5 ohm when your amp is a 0.5 stable amp?? if so how could i do that
thanks man, this is exactly what I needed.
Is there a way you can make it equal 4 ohms.i have a dual channel amp currently I have it bridged at 4 ohms to one 4 ohm sub but I would like to have 2 subs now?
Does the power have to be shared from one sub to the other to be parallel? Or could I just parallel it to the amp, in the sense if I take the 2 negative wires from each sub, twist the two wires together and put it in one channel and the same for the positive? Wouldn’t it make sense? I would basically eliminate the extra wire(s) going from one sub to the other.
@btcman0494

I think that would work but you’d be using the same amount of wire. Instead of the wire going from one sub to the next, it would just be going straight to the amp. You’ll still end up with 2 sets of wires lol
Sonic Electronix so if you have two box terminals how would you wire the subs to the box, is only one box terminal going to be used.

Run the wires in front of the box outside of the box and then the other two out the back of the box that go to the amp

Drill a hole inside the box to wire the subs together, then just use the terminals on one side of the box.
Is this safe to use on 2 way coaxial speakers? 6.5”
So for an audio newbie, got 2 Sony xplod 10" subs for cheap the other day which are 1100w peak, 300w rms, 4 ohm each. Gonna buy a monoblock amp and i understand from your video how to wire them for 2 ohms total impedance but my question is this. When you wire the two subs in parallel is the peak wattage still 1100w and rms 300 or do the subs stack for 2200w peak and 600w rms? I'm assuming they don't stack and I only need a monoblock good for 300rms but I wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Can I bridge this on a 2 channel amp?
How can I wire up 2 4ohm dvc subs with 2 4ohm Svc subs down to a 2ohm or 1ohm load
Can also bridge it that way?
What's size subwoofer wire did you use?
So I’m a little dumb okay so how would I do this with 2 terminals on the box
I need a bit of help guys. I have a Tandberg amplifier from the 70s that can power 4 speakers at once, but its rated for 4 ohms minimum. I have two pairs of speakers that are both 4 ohms, but when I use them all at once they become 2 ohms, because its a parallel wiring. Is there any way to make them not become 2 ohms?
How do I wire a 2 q power super deluxe dual voice coils to a 2 on 3000w audiopipe amp

So I understand wiring the speakers. Say I have a 6 channel amp that will handle 2 ohms. How do I wire speakers into the amp for 2 ohms
Your videos are awesome. I need your help today and I m sure that u r the one who can help me with. I have two speakers of 50W, 8 Ohm each. I want to make a woofer so how to wire these both speakers and what type of amplifier ( Power rating) I have to use. pls explain me about it.

does this change the wattage for rms since your wiring 2 speakers together or do the same.

if both of the speakers in this video were 400 rms each, would it change that to 800 rms?
If these where full range speakers couldn’t you just plug both possitive and negative wires into the amp connector for the selected channel? My point is you shouldn’t have to splice them into one wire before the amp. Right?
So how to wire one single 4ohms and one dual 2ohms together to final 2ohms final impedance please help me pliz

i have pioneer 5-channel sub in my lancer, i have all 4 speakers hooked via amp and i have 1 single coil 4 ohm sub. Can i hook 2 subs to the setup. instead of one? can i know how to do it if possible.

Yes, just make sure to check the power output of your amplifier to make sure its correct for what your subs can handle and your all set.
So bring them down to 2ohm wired parallel is different then just bridging them to one channel????
So if you have two single 4 ohm subs rated for 250w rms and you have a 500w rms @ 2ohm amp, would it be running the 500w @ 2ohms or still 300w @ 4 ohms, how does it work?

Not like this if you have two 4 ohm subs wired in parallel it will have a 2 ohm load at the amp so you will have the 500w at 2 ohm.
@SlightlyDank
7 жыл бұрын
so if you have 2x 200w rms on 4 ohm it will be 2x 400w rms on 2 ohm right? do i now need an amp/monoblock that has at least 800w rms on 2 ohm or will 400 be okay on 2 ohm?
@ShabbernigdoXingjian
7 жыл бұрын
Not really. It depends on the amp and if it is stable to 2ohm. For example i have 2 subs rated at 450 rms so i need 900w of power to drive them and my amp supplies 700w at 4ohm or 1000w at 2ohm so i wire the subs in parallel so they have a final resistance of 2ohm so i can use the full 1000w of power from my amp. Long story short if your amp can support 2ohm then generally yes you will get a bump in power but it many not be a full double the power : )
will this have the same effect on wattage. Lets say i hook up two 250 watt subwoofers in parallel as shown. Then i hook them up to a 500 watt amplifier. Will it only give each subwoofer 250 watts,
