THIS HELPS SO MUCH! Thanks for the great video!
Thanks! Almost hooked up a dual 4 ohm voice coil sub wired in series to an amplifier. Glad I thought to test the terminals before install to see that it was reading 8 ohms. This video took the guess work out. :P
great video! Thanks for the demonstration!
Easy, simple, and straight foward
I tried this on an Orion H2 dual 4ohms and still came out with 4 ohms. I've aeen some other diagrams that showed ya use one + from one coil and one - from the other. Not sure how this would make a difference, but now I gotta wait to try it again. Any insight?
Hi if one voicecoil was blown would it give a different final reading on the ohm meter? the reason i ask is because recently my subs dont sound as loud as it used to so i was just hoping i could check it the same way.
Hey, I've got a fusion FP1404 amp, and want to run a couple of DVC subs. It says it is 4ohm stable in stereo but 2ohm stable in mono. So I need to know can I run it at 2ohms when I bridge the 4 channels to 2 channels (it's a 4 channel amp) with the set up for the sub you have in this video??? Any help would be great!!! Thanks😀
These videos are super helpful
Thanks this video showed me how to wire a subwoofer correctly.
@ nik kinable correction can I run a 600/1200 dvc 2 ohm to a 700 watt rms amp
Hi I want to use dual coil subwoofer for my home theatre. Is it possible to use bi-amp method to connect the speaker coils seperately. Does it work?
If you have a Dual 4 ohm sub, it will wire to 2 ohms on a mono block amp. Remember, a monoblock amp is 1-channel. If you have the exact same setup but a 2-channel amp, this one subwoofer will only connect to one channel, leaving you one additional channel for another subwoofer. It would still be at 2 ohms. If you have a 4-channel amp, the sub would be at two ohms on one channel, leaving you 3 extra channels for 3 more speakers. HOWEVER, it gets more complicated if you start bridging the channels
if you hook up 2 subs like that with seprate leads going to the same terminals on amp is it still 2 or 1
Is this the best way to get the best sound? I have a audiobahn aw1008t 10" sub that I plan on wiring to a ssl ev1500 amp. Cheap amp but it works well enough with the subs I currently have wired up (2 mtx terminator 12") I want to get the best sound out of the audiobahn that I can even though it's a cheaper amp
Does it matter which VC you run your speaker leads to the speaker terminal on your enclosure?
The 5 channel amp I plan to get for my car has a 2 ohm stable subwoofer channel at 300 watts RMS, while the final impedance increase or decrease the RMS wattage?
Can this be done on 2 dvc 4 ohm for a 2 channel amp,1 subwoofer each?
Can i just do this on 2 subs and plug those into the 2 sets of terminals i have on my amp?
So if I have one single 10inch sundown audio 4ohm I can wire it to 2 ohm n its gonna hit hardddd? Like if I bought the 10inch sundown audio 2 ohm speacker?
So as u run the wire down towards the amp. If it's a 2 channel amp how would I run the wires + and - in the amp
Question what if my sub woofer is wired from the box terminal into the sub woofer on only one side of the subwoofer it’s a dual four voice coil kicker L7 and no jumper is attached to the other side does that make a difference
If my 2 15in sub (which are dvc rated at 4ohm) like this into it's own channel would it still b considered 2ohms?
That cable you attached to the sub to go to the amp didn't come in any of my packages... whats it called?
Okay so I have 2 audiobahn special edition 12", they are dual 4 ohm. How would I wire that too a monoblock boss 2400w class d amp? Please help!?
Thank you
I got a s single 4 ohm coil, how would i wire that to a 2 ohm monoblock amp
So if I buy a 2500 watt rms of 4 ohm subwoofer and I connect it to 2ohm would the final watts change or it should stay at 2500
question... on a 1,000 or 1,200 watts sub, is it better to run 4hmo or 2 hmo??? I want max power but don't want to damage my equipment. and I am using a 1,000 watt amp!
This help a lot 😍😍😍😍
Question my amp is a Alpine power pack, and the speakers I ordered are a 4 ohm speakers, the amp says it can handle 2 or 4 ohm, do I need to wire the speakers like in the video?
So with this jumper setup both voice coils are active right ?!
I get two kickers with the switch on the back they 4 ohms dual voice coil doe the amp I have put up pushing out 800rms on 2ohm do I need the 2ohms kind or is there. a way I can do it with the 4ohms kind
Can u r u 2 ohm to a 2 channel amplifier or does the amplifier have to mono
Can you wire two single voice coil for own car subwoofers down to 1 ohm?
Hi, so I have a sub and there is 2 positive and 2 negative and they're on the same side of the sub so is it a svc or dvc?
I have a pair of pioneer TS-w3002D4 and a SoundStorm EV2.3000 and i want to get the most outta them both but on your website it doesn't say if the amp is bridgeable?
Hello Brother, Which amplifier can i use to boost my all 4 speakers and single 12inch sub. specifications as below: Speakers: Skar 4ohm 300watts Peak and 150RMS ( all 4 same spec ) Sub: Clif Design 2ohm 1200watts Peak and 600RMS please advise so I can boost all of them.
If I wore both my DVC 4 ohm subs this way and run each sub to its own terminal on a 2 Chanel 360.2 Rockford amp 2 ohm stable will it produce 2 ohm out of each Chanel or will it now be a 1 ohm amp when both are hooked up to their own channel. The amp says it will produce 180watts per channel when hooked up at 2ohm and I need to give the subs close to 200watts per channel.
what kind of speaker wire arre you using to wire subs?
My sub is dual 4 ohm .My 2 chan amp can be bridged 1*150 watt 4ohm or both channels 2*75ohm 4ohm each .Can i connect my sub with the bridge out or would i be better useing the 2 channels to the coils Thanks mark
awesome video thanks I dropped my subs from 4ohms tp 2ohms incredible the difference great video great explanation hell now I'm bassing loud&clean thanks your the shit brother :-) :-) :-)

Hey brother i am having kicker 44csw124 dual voice coil sub and it is running on single coil 300 rms now how to run with another coil on 2 ohms plz tell me how to do this wiring settings and my use is very loud so what would be best for me
My amp is 8 ohms and I want to hook up 4 little 5.25" woofer spkrs. that are 4 ohms each. How do I do it so that they match the amp?
Does it matter what possitive /neg terminal you use from sub to the amp with this setup? That part is never mentioned. Assuming it doesn't matter then correct? In your picture you have the wires on one side pos/neg to the amp. I have mine possitive on one side, negative on the other side to the amp
So if its 2 subs like ur other video it becomes 1 ohm wired in parallel ?
I have a 1600 watt hifonics amp and a 3200 watt single rockville sub its program rms is 1600 but it also says cea rated rms power handling says 800 can I still push it with the amp im running
Can I wire two 4 ohm subs to 2 ohms and hook up to a 2 channel amp that is 2 ohm stable .
I was planning on getting to dual 4ohm and connecting them parralel to get a 2ohm load, i have been told if i connect it to my monoblock amp that is 1ohm stable, the subs will them run at 1ohm.
Can u wire two dvc4 down to a 4ohm load?
Thanks bro!
Can I replace a Factory duel voice coil subwoofer with a single voice coil subwoofer?
i have a small question! i have a loaded kicker comprt 12", its at 4 ohm. i would like to rewire it to 2 ohm. does anyone know what kind of speaker comprt uses? and how its wired inside? before i take it apart i'd like to know if its actually possible. because there is a possibility that both coils on that speaker are at 8 ohm, and they're wired parallel into 4 ohm, which would suck for me.
K so I have 2 terminals on my box. Is it okay to hook both leads into my 2 channel amp, or will one of the channels do the job; since both terminals read at 2ohms
I want to run 2 ohms on my 2 channel amp with 2 dual 4 ohms. Do i just run them on different channels to get a final of 2 ohms?
hey I'm kinda new at this and i was wondering what happen to the RMS in your woofer when you change the final ohm resistance for example i got 2 soundstream t7 10.4 700w RMS and i got parallel wired at 2 ohm each. The RMS stay the same or change.
@sonicelectronic.I need help I want to know if a 4ohm converting it to 2ohm would it sound the same putting it with a 2ohm?????
I've got a JL audio W3v2 300w rms 4 ohm sub and i want to power it with a ALPINE MRV-M500 AMP 1CHANNEL 500 wrms @ 2 ohms, 300 wrms @ 4 ohms, if i get the final impedance of 2 ohms will the system work well?
I have a Audiobahn A2300hct amp and I'm putting 2 AW1204M (4 ohms) and I'm trying to run them at 2 ohms but mine has 4 connection instead of 2 as shown on this video. how do I run the wires in order to achieve the 2 ohms?
I need help i have to orion hcca124 12s 4 ohm can i wire them to 2ohm ?
Can you please make a video showing how to wire a dual 4 ohm sub to 8 ohm thank you
so if you put it in series, it would be 8 ohms?
Hi i am a little confused about somthing and i am getting diffrent answers from diffrent people, lets say we are doing this same connection on class d monoblock amp, the amp should see this connection as a 1ohm load being a one channel amp and would see it as a 2ohm load on a 2 channel 2ohm stable amp, is this correct?. this would help alot. thank you.
If I have a Memphis pr12 with dual 4ohm what kind of amp should I with it wired at 2ohm? I have a Memphis sr1.250 but it blows the fuses all the time. both 500w

So if I wire both subs at 2 ohm and my amp has 2 positive and 2 negative and I connect each speaker to there own positive and negative will it still be at 2 ohms? Because I don’t wanna play at 4 or 1 on my dual 4 ohm subs
awesome
It doesn't matter which set of terminals i need choose to connected to the speaker box terminal? Need help please
Would that change the rms of the speaker
What gauge wire should I purchase?
It is most certainly bridgeable.
I have a 12 inch pioneer ts w3002d4. Im going to run it parallel. I have a 2 chameleon amp. Should I bridge the amp? Or use it normal?
I have a skar audio 4 ohm dvc 2500 watt max 18 single sub and i want to know how to wire it to a one ohm load if possible? if not then a 2 ohm would be next best i think...My amp is a skar audio Rp1200.1D monoblock 1200-1600 watt max and has two speaker outputs could you help me on how to go about wiring my sub please also my amp says 500 watts @4 ohm 800 @2 ohm or 1200 watts @1 ohm please help me im stuck what should i do
Any reason of burn a coil d4?
So I am assuming if you do not want to lower the impedance you only need to connect just one side, correct?
How do you run 3 subs together, 2 being SVC and 1 being DVC? I am sure it can be done. Need a positive answer quickly from someone please
Awesomeness
is the negative and positive "jumper leads" regular speaker wire you get with a wiring kit??

how do i wire 1 4 ohm dvc sub to 8 ohms?
I think I may have the same problem as Juan Oviedo, I have an audiobahn aw1200q and I'm also trying to wire it down to 2ohms but it has 2 negatives and 2 positives on each side please help
Ok so my 2 channel amp will give me 520rms watts bridged @ 4 ohms, the speaker i was looking at is a dual cone audiobahn low profile AW1004J rated for 400rms watts with two 4 ohm channels, so connecting in series or parallel with either increase or decrease the ohms to 2 or 8, is there anyway to make a single sub with dual cones @ 4 ohms make 4 ohms at final impedance, or just get a single cone sub?

Listen. If your sub is 1000 peak and 500 rms that 4ohms u can give ur sub the full 1000 by dropping down to 1ohm and using a 1200 peak watt. It really depends on what u want. I have 4 6x9s and 4 6x5s at 600 watt peak a pair each. I use a 750 watt amp for each it doesnt mean because i have 150 more watts an amp each that i will blow my speakers. Its all in how you wire and how you use your amp
is this a newer model sub? mine has the dome. not the flat
sya bli sepeker yang 10 in buat ke sound axtif yang langsung ada power nya dalem nya gmna ya masang nya ini sepker nya ada buat nempel kabel ke sepeker tpi depan belakang
Is that NVX wire? sorry for so many questions lol. You all rave about the brand I just wanna do things right.
Question! how do you connect a 4ohm sub to 4ohm amp? how do you exactly wire the sub, or is is the same as this?

Youll have to wire it in series parallel.
Thanks
I've been checking out the inventory on Sonic Electronix website and believe I found the setup i want. Don't want to specify brand name but the specs really don't answer my question so figured I'd ask here. The sub i'm interested is dual 4ohm 1200w rms... if I wire it as 2ohm does it stay 1200w rms? It's a 2400w max sub going to be using a 1500w max mono a/b amp with a rms rating of 1125 rms @ 2ohm. Noob question just want to make sure I buy the correct products.

I’ve been wondering the same if anyone could elaborate on this it would be much appreciated
Thanx❤
Thanks for this , I did this to my sub which is 300 RMS power by at 200 RMS amp but I’m still getting clipping at higher volumes, any help please ?

maybe cause the amp is under-powered, so it's working a lot harder
If you bridge a two channel amp, it becomes one channel BUT you can only put a 4 ohm subwoofer on that channel (in most situations). If you have a 4-channel amp and you bridge the channels, it becomes a 2-channel amp, but you can only use 4 ohm subs on it. When we say 4 ohm, we mean the sub is wired to a 4 ohm final impedance.
okay I have a question anyone can help plz. I have 2 12 excelons producing 400rms @4ohm, it is hooked up on a Kicker cx 1200.1. 600watt x 1@4ohm and 1200watt x 1@2ohm. I wired my subs down to 2 ohm, my subs are pushing 1200rms together. Well I plan on upgrading to RF p3d2-12 they each have 600rms@2ohm and I plan on using 2 of these on the same AMP, now will the RF that will be pushing 1200rms@ 2ohm be louder than the excelons that are also pushing 1200rms? will the sound be the same or diff
I have a AUDIOBAHN amp 1200w 2ch and on the bottom of the amp it says it can be taken down to a 1ohm. I bought two 4ohm dvc AUDIOPIPE subwoofers 600rms/1200max. My question now is how should I wire them for best sound/bass? I have a ported box for the sub's to go in. If I wire them down to a 1ohm would that be safe? Or wire to 2ohm ? Or just wire it for a 4ohm like the diagrams prefer? I'm trying to hook this up within the next 5hrs so if you could help me before then that'd be awesome. To the public if you know your stuff and could help me with any feed back it'd be greatly appreciated thank you.

if you want louder bass go seald and you will feel the bass as well as getting it to sound louder just double check that the specks on you subwoofers say that they can be placet in a seald or ported box
So, how do you use this method if the chambers are sealed individually? I know there's a way I'm just unaware. And drilling a hole inside the box isn't a option.
Would it be possible to do a single voice coil at 4 ohms, connected to an amplifier at 2 ohms?

No, unless you have a second 4ohm SVC sub.
If want 4ohm final impedance , how to wire ?
Is it ok if instead the ones running to the box all on one side, use positive from one side and negative from the other to the box?

Is it necessary to test?
can you wire a dvc sub rating at 400/800 watts to a 2 ohm load running at 600 watts
@nikkinable7316
8 жыл бұрын
400 watt rms at 2ohm? if you run a steady 600rms wattage, you're asking to burn the coil out. its best to run something lower than or equal to the rms rating, never a good thing to run over it.
