Eric b No I didnt check I just went by assuming my comp r 12 enclosure would pair perfectly with my amp. Maybe something wasn't wired correctly inside the enclosure and it was probably giving off a 1 ohm load trying to keep up with my 2 ohm Rockford amp

The box i will be running is the skar audio 18 inch ported box.I think you probably need to know that as well to help me?

I'm trying to connect this DVC sub that I plan to buy in series so that I can fit it into my home theater receiver as my receiver require a sub to be 6-8 ohm impedence. I think it’s interesting that some of you commenting think that this is common knowledge when there are folks who STILL struggle with comprehending wiring up subwoofers. Instead of being difficult ( I’m being polite here ) about it, why don’t you teach your knowledge to others - save a subwoofer save a life hehe - like this page is doing. Just a thought.

tim erhardt I am one of them ,who just can’t grasp this freaking harness, (maybe there’s to many wires ,to many colors IDK)A few months back I tried , I had the dash of my truck open the panels of all 4 doors off for weeks finally I paid a pro to do in 10 hrs what I couldn’t do in weeks ,Now I get a great idea to link my steering wheel controls back up to my radio and mirror capabilities using RCA TO HDMI cable to an adapter , ,, I pull the dash apart watch abut 3 different guys do it about 30 times but I can’t get my radio to CarPlay (which it did early on for a few days back in June) or mirroring capabilities should’ve just stuck to blue tooth .. SMH,,,

Thats what's up people got to mouth off and all that on any video this man is the go to man on KZread for a traditional car audio enthusiast who just wires them on a basic understanding on electronic circuitry and how they function. Yeah I can hookup any subwoofer just like that but I do not dare claim or comment or talk about my expertise and knowledge of impedance and how the polarity of the various wiring schemes you can use to run dual subwoofers especially I know very little about and damn sure ain't to proud to say I'm ignorant in the area and field of load outputs. This man I'm damn sure went to fricking school to learn which I'm betting he already had basic knowledge of and furthered his skills and knowledge of what he is demonstrating you can tell by how his presentations are well presented and they are very clear and simplistic at that as to where you got these morons out here on the comment section running off at their mouth about their so called skills. I appreciate these demonstrations and how to videos you opened my skill set up to understand the difference in the way I can wire my system to better its outputs and give my subs longevity you by far outdo all these so called professionals with shadetree show off videos that provide us with arrogance and most likely got folks wiring shit up to blow up their expensive subwoofers and turning amps to griddles to point is folks listen to Tim yeah arrogant assholes Tim hit y'all in the mouth on this one and he was polite very polite which Tim my friend its very hard I'm sure you know to be polite about anything these days but he could have butchered y'all with stuff if he wanted to he was being polite in the sense that yall don't know what you talking about plus I don't get why do people venture on to videos like this to just up and talk shit huh? I have an mrp500 too but I have two dual 10” 4 ohm subs so how do I get them to 2 ohms on the alpine mrp500?

I have a PowerBass 12" DVC 4 Ohm getting powered by a Soundstream PN1.650D. Would a parallel or series wiring work better?

i have a re audio xx 4ohm subwoofer wired down to a 2ohm load on a kicker cxa 1800.1 but my question is can i wire the subwoofer down to a 8 ohm load even tho the amplifier doesn't say its 8ohm stable? It only says 2ohm and 4ohm Stable.

Will it mess up the power that I'm generating if I set it up as a 2 ohm load but then put one of my wires in the positive side and the other in the negative side on the other side of the coil going to the amp I mean I already wired it up like that on one of my speakers and it worked I didn't know if I was getting any better Bass from it or less I could not really tell

Under the 2 ohm way if I have 2 seperate sub boxes , each run to seperate channels of a 2 channel amp that can do 2 ohm is it still a 2 ohm with the 2 hooked sep to each one left and one right??

Can you please clarify- when you are explaining the 2 ohm load, is that 2 ohm mono? I want to run my DVC 12 inch sub off an old school Rockford 2 channel A/B amp instead of my Class D HiFonics mono "Brutus", however from what i read 2 ohm mono is not a good idea. Are you describing a 2 ohm stereo load? If not should i just roll with an 8 ohm load?

Will a fluctuating ohm reading not so stable indicate a burn or damage sub or it’s coil again knowing the subs specs ohm rated ? We typically say yes but on a lower reading how about a higher ohm reading again this will be in a ocasión where I can’t take out the subwoofer enclosure w ease or enough room just by subs lead wires but disconnected from amp by them selfs ?

If I wire this in the series configuration and then wire it in bridged configuration to the amp will these result in a 4 ohm in the end?

Hey everyone. So I have a 4ch amp rated at 115 watts rms x 4@4ohm, 230x4@2ohm and 460x2@4ohm bridged. Also, I have 2 dvc subs(4ohm) rated at 200rms llllll. The one side(ch 1 and 2) I use for for mids and highs, whereas ch 3 and 4 I would like to use for the subs. The question> If I understand this correctly, I can hook up the two dvc subs in series, equalling a 8ohm load for each sub and then connecting the two subs in parallel at the corresponding connections, thus bringing the resistance back to 4 ohms such that I can use the bridged connection to utilise the 400rms? I have an Alpine type R 1242D 500w rms 1500 peak. I have it wired in series because the shop that installed it said it would last longer and give clearer sound. The issue is most amps only list 1ohm 2ohm and 4ohm. If my speaker is wired in series with a final impedance of 8ohm then how do i choose the correct amp to power it to its maximum of 500w rms? I thought the impedance of being wired in series would have a final impedance of 4ohms. I ordered a Taramps 1200 bass witch gives out 650w rms @ 4ohms. Will this amp be able to give the 8ohm impedance that my speaker is wired to?

You are using the “ohmmeter” function of a “multimeter”, not setting the “voltmeter” to ohms. Also touching both probes is less accurate since the body passes electricity. Good video in general. Came here looking for a clean way to wire 4ohm DVC in parallel. Is there any reason I can’t just clear off some insulation and use one strand for both connections versus multiple wires?

I have a spare 8" 4ohm DVC subwoofer that i want to replace my factory sub with in my 4runner to the factory amplifier which has a sub at 2ohms. From the factory amplifier to the stock sub there two leads (each with one positive and negative wire) question is after running my two speaker wires in the sub from + to + and - to - do i run just one positive from one lead to one coil and one negative to the other?
