Thank you for this Corie. My sweet mom passed away from cancer. I spent 7 days with her before she joined our father in Heaven. I'm so sad and miss her beyond belief but your message has encouraged me to gather strength to take care of the enormous things ahead of me. I so enjoy you, your sister and parents. Bless you all. I will be visiting my friend Ben Pope in the fall and would be honored to go back to Fire's creek and walk with you all.

When my daughter, Savannah, was in Kindergarten she signed up for a race (this was the end of the school year “fun day”) that consisted of running around the school grounds which was quite a task for a kindergartner! I need to add that Savannah was not a athletic child. 😆 When I went to the award ceremony, the teacher (Mrs Bailey) came up to me and said, “I want you to know that Savannah is getting the Sportsmanship Award because as she was the last child to come around the building, she was hollering, I finished Mrs. Bailey…I did it!” Her teacher was so impressed that it wasn’t winning the race that mattered but finishing with joy! That’s the way our lives should be! Finishing each day with joy knowing God is by our sides ready and willing to guide us to that finish line! Thanks for sharing your message with us!

Wow! Near the 20 minute mark of this video you mentioned that we have to run our own race and we shouldn't compare ourselves to how others are running their race and this really spoke to me. I am soon to be 74 years old and last November my 80 year old sister went to be with the Lord. She was outgoing and very social... once she met someone they were considered a good friend. I am somewhat of an introvert and I have always compared myself to her and 'fallen short'. She would never have wanted me to do that. She was a fantastic grandmother and great grandmother and my 2 adult kids are too busy to fit me into their lives...but I know I am serving the Lord every day as I care for my disabled husband however because of his immobility, we seldom go anywhere accept church. I was encouraged by your words of not comparing my race with someone else. Thank you so much for your spirit led wisdom.

Very well said, we must continue to run the race before us. I think about Paul telling Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:7, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. He was tired and weary and knew they were going to kill him but he was focusing on the crown of righteousness. Keep doing what you’re doing Corie, keep inspiring people with the word of God. This would be a terrific speech for children in middle school to help them, prepare for their future schooling or vocation, etc. I think it would take some anxiety out of them, wondering what the future may hold for them. There is solid information, in what you are saying for people of all ages.

I don't run anymore, but I did do two half marathons (edit: about 10 years and 50 pounds ago 😂). Just finishing is an accomplishment. I don't want to get too deep but I have been holding onto a lot of pain/darkness for a long time. Videos like this are part of my circle of positive thoughts. Corie, I would love for you to video a daily devotion/Bible Study time. I draw so much more from the scriptures when someone brakes the verses out like you do. I know that would be a lot of work on you part because preparation would take a tremendous amount of time....just saying that it would be nice to have. I even get a lot out of the shorts. During episodes of “rough bouts” I tend to wonder if He is aware of my state of mind, listening today I realize again, yes absolutely He is aware and by my side. This too shall pass! How He chose me for this marathon I’ll always wonder! He has a plan for me, pray I find what it is🙏❤️

What a wonderful way to explain our walk with Jesus. No, life is not always going to be easy and there will be times when we think that we are just not going to make it through certain times but, we have to always remember that He is always with us and will never leave us nor forsake us. I have to remind myself of this because I have anxiety and I will worry about things that I think might happen when nothing has happened yet so, I have to remember that Jesus said worry about nothing but pray about everything. So that’s what I do. When my anxiety gets really bad I stop and I pray and I ask the Lord for His peace and when I am still I can absolutely feel my mind and body calm completely down and I am given peace from Him.
