    I've been on God's green earth for 74 years now. I've wasted countless hours if not days attempting to produce high pitched noises by forcing air flow across my tongue and through my teeth & lips. Thoughts of not being able to whistle without fingers have haunted my dreams and plagued my entire life. I've lost my job of 40 years by hiding in the maintenance closet throughout the workday trying to whistle. My children's hearts are filled with malice and hurt from the years of neglect I've shown trying to obtain the skill of whistling without my fingers. My wife of 48 years has left me and taken the house with her complaining that my pursuit of whistling without fingers has caused her nothing but stress from feelings of being unloved and unwanted. Just last month, I wrecked my car, my only possession, on highway 45 while trying to achieve my dreams. I've taken shelter behind a small shopping mall and have fashioned a lean-to against a wall to protect my few belongings from the elements. Most nights are sleepless from the cold, the howling of the coyotes, or dwelling on the realization that my life has descended into a hellish, whistle-less nightmare. I often fantasize about ending it all to escape this hellscape. So here I sit inside a McDonald's with my free cup of water and my 0.99 cent hamburger just to have access to the free wi-fi that is offered. I stumbled upon your videos as a broken incapable of whistling without my fingers. And here you are before me, a Germanic, whistling angel bestowing a lifetime of sacred knowledge unto me. You are rest to the weary, relief to the broken, and food to the hungry. This tutorial has subsequently had me removed from the aforementioned McDonalds for disturbing the customers from my extraneously loud whistling capabilities. YOU HEAR THAT MARGARET YOU STUPID BITCH!? I CAN WHISTLE WITHOUT MY FINGERS! But Margaret, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry….please come back. Tell the kids I love them.

    My husband and I are suddenly obsessed with learning this high pitched fingerless whistle! Please Lord in heaven, help us to whistle so we don't end up like this poor man! I'm afraid the signs are already beginning... Cheeks are so sore we can't smile. Our daily chores are being neglected and the dishes and laundry are piling up. Pray for us! Seriously this was a great tutorial. Still can't do it though. My sister could do it but she used her fingers . Major kudos to the writer of the life story of the elderly man who lost everything! We are cracking up! And finally, to Margaret: we understand his obsession! Please take him back! He loves you so much! Now that he has achieved his life long goal his talent will come in very useful!

    Matt brother, you saved me months and months of life time, I watched your three part series today and I got my first couple of quiet whistles out in one sitting this evening, that tongue rolling technique is pure money, I totally felt that weird tongue twist feeling you talked about in the Part 2 video. I wish you not best of luck because thats bs but much love and freedom, make something out of this gift, you are a coach, a teacher, market yourself as an online whistle coach, people want to pay people that solve their problems as eloquent and easy as you do, you totally deserve that because you mastered this craft, I literally see how you could be the number one online coach in this niche and everybodys first choice when they want to learn how to whistle. No ulterior motives here, just some food for thought. Mike

    hi buddy, actually a good vid, so i am also one of those lucky people who can do this. and you mentioned some very good things, but for those of you who still cant get it, here are some more tips: in general dont be irritated or confused about the little u shape, that hes doing with his tongue, dont focus on that, it will come automatically. the most important thing to know is that your tip of your tongue should definitly not touch your bottom lip, otherwise you will never be able to learn this skill. so try to learn it with a mirror an then try to see that you have a tiny gap between your bottom lip and your tounge while your softly blow, like he is telling it you in his video. its just like a sigh. while you are sigh your back-side parts of your lip should (softly) touch your bottom back-teeth and your top of your tounge should be just a little bit under your front teeth, so you have a little gap between your upper teeth an your lip, the tounge should then feel like a spoon or something like that and dont forget your tiny gap between your bottom lip, which is sealed over your bottom teeth, and your top part of your lip good Luck, i hope you all will get it. if you have questions i can help him answer them Chris

    I am practicing this since 3 years now and haven't improved myself a bit. Does braces affects the whistle in any way? When I try to whistle only 10% of whistle comes out and the rest 90% is air. The order of my teeth is a bit tangy so I think that must be a problem. I have got the positioning of my lip and tongue well same like you but there is no result. Please help. I will be so happy If you advice me something. I also commented on your last video.

    Hi matt. I finally managed to get the right tongue/lip placement and managed to get a whistle. My front teeth have gaps, so I have to use my upper lip to cover them, people I know that whistle very loud do the same as me. my question is this: How do you get to the higher tones? All I manage to get is a low tone and I just cannot seem to figure this out..

  • @matt6014

    @matt6014

    5 жыл бұрын

    When I was learning, I figured out how to do a low tone whistle and I thought I got it. I spent a month trying to make it higher pitch until I realized it wasn't the right whistle. That could be your case. But I got it shortly after that. If you really did get it, then all you need to do is push your tongue harder up to make the hole smaller and angle the air flow more down (requires practice to build strength, but this is done by pulling/curling the tip of your tongue back very slightly). Next, make your lip tighter and open your mouth just a tiny bit more.
