I've replaced my Whirlpool Duet bellow tub seal 3 times now, every time I need a refresher to build my confidence on the proper process and this video is perfect. Knocked it out in about an hour today. No leaks and I feel good about the replacement. Thank you...saved me money, time, and stress (only had to halt the laundry cycles for 4 days), and completing it on my own. Yes!!

Once again, I saved a bunch of money. That's 3X instead of buying a new washer or dryer I was able to fix them thanks to Appliance Parts Pros and their videos. The bellow seal fit perfect. Just took it slow and careful to make sure the seal was seated all the way around at each part. My wife thinks I'm a genius. Happy wife...

Wow, female with no previous washing machine repair experience here. Very easy job, was surprised at how expensive part is for a piece of rubber. Hardest part is putting the front bellow clamp on but other than that anybody can do this. Thank you so much for the easy to follow video, you at least saved me an $80 cdn service charge.

EXCELLENT video! Downloaded the parts list PDF and found the part online and picked up at the store. Must be a common failure as they had 96 in stock! Mine was the Maytag. Almost identical except for the soap/water tube. The wire-spring clamp was the hardest as it doesn't slide unless you coat it and the bellow with a little liquid soap. Wish I read all the comments below before I finished the job...lol Front door and panel are heavy. THANKS!

Great video. I am glad to read the comments in addition to the video. You don't need to remove the front panel to install this. However, it most likely will be it much easier, if you can. It is good that the video shows this method, because you can see clearly the parts that are involved. I had a dryer sitting on top and taking that down would have been a pain. It does require a small wrench to loosen the clamp as the space is tight. In addition, putting the liner back on was a pain since you have to feel around the lip as you can't see it without the front panel open. The final hint is dish washing soap around spring wire before re-installing. That allows the wire to slip on easier. Like the other comments, I was struggling with it for more than 15 minutes before doing that.

Like others, this video was EXTREMELY helpful, and I followed all the way through - wish all the screws were cross tip or flat, the screws used and the torque 20 often stripped them. The only show stopper for me (being home alone during the repair) was the tension spring - was much easier for me with help.

I just did this on my Kenore Elite HET3 in about 10 minutes without removing anything. In fact, my dryer was still on top of the washer the entire time. There was more than enough room to seat the new seal and put the clamp band around it. You do small low profile 1/4 drive and a 1" extension socket for the clamp nut. I spent more time fiddling with the tension band on the outside than anything else before realizing needle nose pulling down on one of the hook eyes attached to the spring made it very easy.

Excellent video! Almost identical to my Maytag Washer Model YMHWE251YL. I've replaced this twice as it only seems to last about 2 years with heavy use. I hope the new part number is an improved rubber. Part number W10381562 was replaced by WPW10381562 on my model. Putting liquid soap on the final spring seal makes it much easier to put on.

The video is extremely useful for the non professional home repair. Two things to comment: it's much easier if you have someone to give you some help, specially in my case that I have the dryer upside the washer. The replacement bellow I bought came with 4 holes in the bottom of it that were closed. In the original bellow this small holes were open to drain water from the bellow to the tub. I wander if I must open this holes in order to drain the water that collects in the bellow at the end of the washing time. Would it be better not to open them and dry with a towel the excess of water in order to prevent mold to accumulate in the bellow?

Changing the bellow does not involve disconnecting any wires but if something came loose it may cause problems. I would double check all the connectors where you were working look for loose connectors, bad wires etc. If you have a gfc tester you can test the socket or try plugging something else in that socket. If you do not see anything and still think its something in the washer you can post the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem. forum.appliancepartspros.com/

Putting that wire with the spring on at the end was the hardest part. What you want to do is scrub it clean so it is perfectly smooth, then lube it with liquid soap so it will slide on the boot. Went easy then. There was one step not mentioned here. See that little hole in the top of the boot? There is a small spray nozzle that goes there. At least there was on my machine.

AppliancePartsPros That was my intent, to use the correct part. But after going to the official websites (Whirlpool, Sears, etc.) just to check on the part number for the model, it came back as #8182119 for the bellows. The video above didn't exactly specify the washer model number in order to do the search. Only after the fact did I get a glimpse of the model number of the washer in the video in a screenshot while the door was open. I was being careful because minor changes in these washers can result in wrong parts ordered.

+Michael Sven Eriksson On this model there there was only the large detergent nozzle. Your model may be a little different and you will have to adjust the procedure. Hope the video helped you get the bellow changed!

He forgot to show how to install the nozzle at the top of the bellows where that little hole is.

I am curious about this also. The bellow in your video clearly has the hole for the small white nozzle that is on my existing bellow. It is to the right of the detergent nozzle, centered just inside the door under the Whirlpool logo. The thing I am confused about is that the replacement bellow i ordered does not have a hole for it. Is it even necessary to have, or can i disregard the small white nozzle from the old bellow? I have not tried to take the unit apart yet, would like to know if i need a different bellow before i do.

So, The kick panel comes off, The top panel comes off, The detergent drawer comes out. The control panel comes off The door switch is moved out of the way. And this is EASY?

Whirlpool's stupid design. Having to take the whole machine apart to replace a boot gasket. Way more complicated than it should be.
