I’d maybe keep the twists in large bunches as you wash instead of unravelling as she did. So section hair and twist or loosely braid the twists in each section. Wash the scalp but only wash the hair within those larger twists. It might help keep the mini twists twisted up and avoid unravelling, tangling etc.

I used Uncle Funky Daughter’s curly magic & Innersense I create memory gel for my 2-strand twist. It has a nice hold and makes my hair look shiny. Most of my head is 3C, and I high porosity.

Thanks for your advice about moisturizing the extensions, and then moisturizing and squeezing your mix into the extensions to prevent your natural hair from dryness. I love glycerin because it makes my hair so soft, but it made my scalp itch like crazy when I put it on my roots, probably because of the NYC weather as well. I stopped putting pure glycerin on my scalp, but now I will use it on the extensions to keep my natural hair from drying. This definitely is a game-changer for me. Keep doing what you're doing! God bless ❤️ ****Edit*** Sorry for the mixup @curlcodeblack , I thought I was commenting on Coily Diaries. I've been following you as well for a while and you have definitely inspired me to keep going with my mini twists even though they are nape length right now. Thank you for sharing all your tips❤️

Why do our hair look and feel dry even after a deep conditioner. I have 3c and tiny bit 4a spiral corkscrew curls & they always dry no matter what. Is it just im not used to the hair type or what? I was relaxed all my life and now I'm natural only 2.5 Years. My waist length hair I keep trimming because of the splits. I never had single Strand knots 🪢 when I was relaxed I always heard the girlies saying they got them & I'm over here like ahhemm I ain't never had those 😎... then I go natural now I got those times a million matted knots and dread locks. I don't think my hair likes being in its natural state either that or im using the wrong products and they drying my hair out so bad it's tangling 🤷🏽‍♀️ I tried all the mainstream products. Totally lost. (Also my hair shrinks from waist to collar bone. If detangled thorough and smoothes with a tangle teezer with a leave in and air dried then it shrink above shoulders lol

Try the Water-Cream-Oil method to moisture and try to do Cornrows constantly. Always deep condition during Washdays and keep you hair stretched or blowdried. Please don’t relax again, 4c Hair is difficult to manage but We have to keep up

It’s probably bc you’re still using relaxed hair products. Majority of the natural hair community have gotten away from mainstream products. You have to figure out what YOUR hair like. Look up natural hair girls with your type hair and see what products they use. You actually have an easy texture to work with.

@zaejohnson3414 I basically only use mainstream hair brands maybe that is why. I'm hoping to find more natural hair brands that use fruits and healthy ingredients. I'm starting to learn to love my hair because I used to hate it hense why I been relaxed from child through adulthood. But i wuit relaxers in 2021 and will never look back. My hair at the moment is difficult to manage it wouldn't be so bad if it didn't get matted but I'm iron and vit d deficient and I shampoo my curls every other day . I dont know if that's what's tangling my hair into actual birds nests or if it's all the oil I put in my hair. That's what makes my hair difficult to manage. I cannot get the matts out so I'm going to get it braided for the first time next month and hope that'll help my hair journey. The only thing that keeps my hair from matting is putting it in twists... but I think I look funny with twists (not used to that style) so I end up taking them out the next day and my hair matts back up & I cause myself more breakage all because I was embarrassed to embrace my hair in twists. If I can leave my twists in for a couple weeks or a month & maintain them I wouldn't lose hair like I do from detangling giant tight knots most of them have to be cut out as their too tight to get loosened up. Unfortunately. I hate it. Idk if it's just my hair texture or what but I don't understand I can throughly detangle and just move around alittle bit and my curls wrap around eachother I have natural uniform cork screw spiral curls so they do wrap around one another. Hope braids keep the matting away 🙏

@queensachae8676 @queensachae8676 I found that anytime I dis relax i got pretty bad painful burns and scabs on my scalp, breakage, & hair that was like straw from kids regular strength relaxers. It burned my scalp so bad it had me a 20 something year old grown woman in tears bouncing all around the house in agonizing pain. We used the " Just For Me Kids No-Lye Regular strength relaxer on my 3c curls and it processed vert fast but my mom still left it on the full time but i never made it the full time because of the severe burning. I don't know about 4c hair because I only have experience with 3C hair mixed with possibly a small amount of 4A (im not even sure if I have any 4A at all) I will never put another relaxer. My last relaxer was jan/feb 2021. Im stuck at waist length plateau or atleast because of all the matting tangling and single strand knots I'm getting. I shampoo every other day i think that's where the breakage comes in. I will try keeping my curls stretched to avoid the matting and knots and the method you suggested. So Thanks for the input I hope i find something that works. 🙂
