I did this my entire pregnancy (the only difference is, My twist were a little larger and I used the ghm (which drastically reduces matting and locing, for me), so I kept my hair moist at all times under a conditioning cap and under a human hair wig) and the night before I gave birth (totally unplanned) I got my hair blown out and girlfrannnnn! I was blown away (pun intended lol) . My hair was thick and waist length (for the first time in my life!) Now, I do understand that the pregnancy contributed to my growth and thickness, but it is 5 years later and I am still waist length and I continued to do this and I have retained lot of thickness as well. For the record, I was previously a struggling bsl for the majority of my life. Side note: I also use the LOC method under my conditioning cap. I would spritz my hair with a water/oil mixture occasionally when it began to get dry. Whatever works for you, but the results for this method are proven. Best wishes to everyone on their journey! 😘

I stopped using synthetic hair too lol. I feel like everyone is on a length retention journey lately. I alternate between mini braids and mini twists.

You can wash it in your twists as often as you’d like, shouldn’t be a problem. this is just what I do 🫶🏾

I braided root use water , knot today , and Jam. Am going for 3 months, 🎉do you retwist the front in back on month one and two, and three, then on month 4 do everything

Yes but on month 4 I take down everything and completely wash / condition ... then re-install twists on entire head & start again.

Do you moisturize your hair during that month? I would be scared that spraying water on my twist and adding product would loc my hair up

I actually do not moisturize my hair during that month. However , I did find that after washing & conditioning, the twists that I left alone & did not re-twist were very dry upon take down. So what I would do nxt time is after wash & cond. the twists I do not re-twist in the middle sections I would just put oil on them. That way they have some kind of moisture retention from wash day without me having to re do that entire section. ( & only don’t twist the middle b/c the front & back are most visible & I don’t wanna re do the entire style for time purposes after only 1 month. ) Hope that answers your Q ! :)

So month 4 ? Wash in twist then twist every twist?

No at the end of month 3 take out all twists. Wash & condition your hair completely. Then if you would like .. mini twist entire head & start again

No I always start on stretched hair via braid out however you can def blow it dry. I only did it stretched to have longer twists , I don't really like them super short & shrunken. 🩵
