Certain Burpees are a great choice for a warm-up. Next workout try this as a warm-up (squat thrust, 6 count, 8-count) x 25

Passed level 2 6-counts this morning! 200 in 20 minutes. I went right along with your video ... thank YOU! It was very tough, and you kept me going. I kept my mind on keeping good form, and just went right with you. Did 78 navy seals last week, but I didn't keep a very steady pace, going very fast and then taking longer breaks. Will keep at your pace this time around. 53 years old ... I'm going back to my days in the US Army, pushed to my limit. I also love the simple 4 count burpee (very effective) and the 8-count bodybuilder ... do those have any place in your training? In your new book?

Superb work, Alex!!! You'll definitely unlock Level 2 with the seals very soon, probably in your next session!! Excellent work!!! As for your question, I definitely have a lot of time for the 4-ct, and discuss it's history and benefits in the book, but I don't program the body builder. It's a truly great movement, but I don't think it can compete with the 6-count for cardio benefits or the seal for upper body benefits.

@@busydadtraining Yes, unlocked level 2 this week. 80 seals, right along with you on video. Many thanks for the motivation! I will be very interested in hearing how you utilize the 4 count. Last week I did a very early morning workout, and simply did 20 4-counts followed by 10 ab rollouts, repeating with no rest for 20 minutes. I was really surprised at the upper body demand of that. Not nearly as potent as what you've got, but it was the right thing for me at that time.

I think it depends. If you live in warm area you don't need to worm up too much, but in cold time I need to do like 70 - 100 slow one pump before I can begin.

Hey brother. Sorry to hear that. Have you tried holding a dumbbell throughout the push up part of the movement? I know many people who have benefited from that modification

Hey my man. There's no app or anything, just a stopwatch. My per rep pace is 9 secs, which resolves after 3 minutes. So I know when each of those 9 second junctures comes around over the course of the 3 minutes, and then I'm repeating that, trying if I can to sneak in an extra rep every here and there by doing 9 reps at 8 seconds so that I can sneak in an extra rep and then get back on the rotation. Does that help at all?

@@busydadtraining thanks for the reply, I think I got it, that way you know you have 20 reps every 3 minutes (without the extra reps), right? I have a timer that beeps every say 5-6 seconds for my 6counts, wich works quite good so far, but as i enter level 2 teritory I exceeded the capabilities of the timer (number of sets etc) :D for navy seals i am at 14 sec/rep which gets confusing using just a stoppwatch :D
