    Sorry, Tony missed this comment. If this still helps leave it to dry and see what happens it may sit back when dry. If not you have to scrape off the bubbles then wash in case its paste or some other contaminant on the wall. Then fill using a hard-stop filler then paint. Sorry for the late reply

    Good job Mr. P and D, I allways recommend they get a radiator shelf wich just slot down the back and it hides what is below it, you can get them fairly cheap I got white one's for my flat they have a decent satin finish on them as well

    A good demo, I find with a difficult pattern if you lay the paper face up on the board and pick a pattern match be it a flower or a line if you fold the flower point to the next flower in the repeat and make a light crease on the opposite where the crease mark is is the pattern match

    Great work btw .... Would it be easier to paste the wall at the radiator level rather than the paper and also don’t you do two cuts either side of the brackets or are you not really bothered about the in trimmed paper round the brackets

  • @PaintingandDecorating

    Thank you.. the paper needs to soak first.. and the paper was cut so it fitted over the brackets just enough.. the plaster was really bad because it had been skimmed with the rad on the wall... stupid like.

    Thanks It all depends on how hard you work really. And if you do exterior work that all depends on the weather. Best not doing large exteriors or too many small ones on your own. Stick to interior work dry. So the is no set wage and that's the good part.

    Wallpaper behind radiators is bad as the heat will loosen up the adhesive and it become loose. Wallpapers are being applied on one part of the walls these days. Painting is better than wallpaper.

    The next day after papering, I found I had gaps all the way down my joins. What would be the cause of that pls?

  • @PaintingandDecorating

    @PaintingandDecorating

    6 жыл бұрын

    Did you put your heating on after papering or was it a very hot room? Sometimes this can cause the paper to shrink rather than drying naturally. Or what you may notice is that the joins touch every 12" with gaps this is down to the paper being shrink-wrapped at the factory.

  • @zionking71

    Painting and Decorating , the rooms were small therapy rooms so quite warm naturally. Paper was a thick heavy embossed type. Thinking about it again, I may have over stretched it while smoothing up and down, another of your videos recommends smoothing left-right. Great videos, thanks for posting. Glad to have found you now.

  • @PaintingandDecorating

    @PaintingandDecorating

    6 жыл бұрын

    Yes, smooth over on width, not the length side to side. But this would not cause your joint gap it would cause your pattern not to match.

  • @Stoddy2k

    @Stoddy2k

    Roger S Did you Size the wall before hanging your paper. If you do not size the walls the paper tends to dry quicker and shrink more , Hence the gaps.

  • @PaintingandDecorating

    @PaintingandDecorating

    6 жыл бұрын

    This would only really matter on new plaster, and size helps the paper grip with it being a glue. It helps seal the plasters to stop the porosity. We do not use size anymore due to having to mix with boiling water and it stinks. PVA does the same. But joint gaps have other reasons this is a rare occurrence if all joints leave gaps when drying.
