As someone diagnosed with Delayed Sleep Wake Phase Disorder(DSWPD), nothing really seems to help but improve a little. ☠️ It’s not a rare disorder but usually missed by physicians during diagnosis since insomnia is much more common. Saying it’s solely behavioral is a absurdly shortcut way of describing the disease. There are limited number of studies but they mostly indicate the problem lies in responsiveness of the brain towards light in individuals. Sooo I feel desperate in other words. 🫠 Dimming the lights helps hugely though.

@@efesari792Agreed. Genetic/biological chronotypes are absolutely a thing. Delayed sleep phase exists for 70% of people with adhd like myself. And yes these tips help me get better *quality* sleep, but I am literally physically incapable of being a morning person. When I’ve had early morning jobs/responsibilities for multiple weeks in a row, I literally will vomit in the morning, have constant headaches, and need more hours asleep than when my schedule is later, ie starting work 11am or later. This makes having a traditional 9-5 job and being “successful” nearly impossible … Evolutionarily it makes sense that some people would be night owls… we don’t all have to be the same clones. All chronotypes should be respected imo.

I used to love waking up earlier to get all of my work done so that i can do what I actually enjoy later in the day. Nowadays it’s more difficult for many reasons. I’m trying to be in mindset again but it’s difficult

Thank you so much for this video. I am truly grateful. I have been suffering from sleep problems for such a long time as a teen, and its amazing how these strategies work. Others usually have steps that don't work at all (like deep breathing or military sleep technique). ;-; you fixed my sleep

I've always wondered if sleep from, let's say, 10pm to 6am is the same as sleep from 12am to 8am?Assuming all the conditions are the same. Thank you for these videos, finding your channel was one of the luckiest things that have happened to me.

Speaking strictly from personal experience, I would definitely say going to sleep earlier would be by far the best option. I find that staying up later, even slightly, takes a toll on my body that I feel the next morning.

None of this requires money. The only thing might the red light, but this isn’t necessary. Just keep your lights few, dim, and low.
