how do you connect to an audio amplifier to listen in big speakers. Where do you get the audio from? Can you connect external hard drive with movies and flac files. Can you use it without a connected screen, I dont need screen if Im only going to listen music.

So we have cable tv and apps as well. So there’s a way to get to my cable tv as well?

So does Apple TV have the ability to download movies on the box without using the internet or must. You have internet access to use it

I’m really in the Apple ecosystem (Mac iPhone Apple Watch etc) but in terms of smart home devices I got google set up. I’m wondering if I should get a Apple TV or a chrome cast with tv. What do you think?

having a lightning port would suck so bad its outdated and usb c is the automatic way to go

Someone please help me get past setup with iPhone it keeps saying no internet connection it’s really annoying and frustrating!!

When the day comes that the remote has way more buttons like red for recording, fast forward and backwards button and number buttons from 0-9, almost like my tv-remote I would buy and not before. Like it is now there’s too much going back and back and…. And why pay four times as much than google tv, it does the same.

If you have Apple tech, the Apple TV makes a lot of sense. Specifically if you have the HomePod speakers. The Apple TV hooks up to speakers and connects everything seamlessly. I had a chromcast first, the chromcast is great, cheap remote but does the job. Wish the Chromcast didn’t need to be plugged into an outlet, besides that it’s an excellent device for travel and at home. If you’re really into Home theater and Apple TV 4K does have more features and gives you the best picture, heck u can e if you’re really into Home theater and Apple TV 4K does have more features, but most people probably won’t use them, heck, you can even calibrate your telephone heck you can even calibrate your television through your iPhone and it does a very good job. Not as good as a professional calibration that cost $600 but pretty darn close.

I wish you would have told us how much you paid for the box, and can you watch movies for free , or do I have to subscribe?

Even though I'm a year late, I just got mine today and I've used it and no.. no iMessage (not even text notifications). But they do have FaceTime!!

On some, but not all, channels you can use the touchpad to scrub back-n-forth. For my local news stations (which are DVR'd) I just hit the Siri button and say "Fast-forward 4 minutes". Works like a charm.

Apple should make a streaming stick. Chromecast is so much better and cleaner, since the dongle hides behind the TV.

I like my Chromecast a lot. I tried to convert my parents, but they like having the remote with all the apps on a separate device, rather than needing to have all the apps on their phone.

@@tall_dude1233 Do you still need to have the streaming apps on your phone though, or are they on the Chromecast device itself? My Chromecast doesn't store apps, you can only cast what's on your phone. Not sure what the newer ones are like.

@ You don't need to have a phone to use the newest Chromecast with Google TV, it has a dedicated remote, comes with pre-installed apps, or you can download basically any app. The remote also has TV power, input, and volume buttons.

I enjoyed mine until I upgraded to an LG OLED C2 television and discovered ATV is incompatible with it. If anyone has a solution I would love to hear it. The TV will not recognize the HDMI input.

I wonder why Apple TV isn't directly compatible with most devices despite having HDMI. Isn't the concept similar to Android TV boxes and dongles, which you can use as long as you connect them via HDMI?

This is NOT for beginners ! What is the UI ? You are talking way too fast. Will it work with my 10 year old Samsung Smart TV ? What TV channels can I watch ? Can I watch my local news ? I give up. Too frustrating 😭
