*Apple just released the new 2022 Apple 4K TV!* Very minor differences overall, including an A15 Bionic processor, HDR10 support, upgraded internal storage, slightly smaller dimensions and a cheaper price tag. Here's my take: if you're an owner of the 2021 version, it's not worth upgrading unless you have money to burn. If you don't have an Apple 4K TV, now's a great time to get one, especially with the cheaper price tag! _Let me know your thoughts too below!_

4Kfinity! I don’t own one yet coz I never thought of ever using it. But I just got their fitness+ subscription and I thought it would be awesome to have it on TV and not in small screen. And with their announcement of a new 4K Apple TV and with a much better price tag. I got myself one. Can’t wait for it to get here.

I happen to have an older tv that, at the time had just come out with HDMI. So when I found out that after getting this little unit, I could turn it into a smart tv using an Apple TV, I was hooked. Everything on it looks flawless and I’m really impressed with how much I can do with it.

The thing I love about Apple is that they overkill in the hardware even in places they totally don't need to. Like most android TVs come with a crappy quad core 1.5GHz CPU hence the bad performance and jitters, but the fact that it comes with A12, means it is and will be buttery smooth for a very very long time

I was able to get the first generation remote, the small aluminum remote. I eventualy got the new Apple TV with the much larger remote and I am happy. Thank you for your review. It definitely is a good investiment.

I bought a Samsung KS8000 flagship 4K HDR10 TV back in 2016, and an original Apple TV 4K on launch (2017?). Initially, my TV apps had great support, but over time it waned and either the TV apps lost features or became unreliable or even shut down entirely, whereas the Apple TV has always remained up to date with the best versions of the latest apps. I don't regret buying it at all.

I actually unplugged my Apple TV 4K after I bought an LG OLED with their WebOS system. It's very much on par performance wise and works with Google home. I have all the convenience of an Apple TV (Airplay, HomeKit, Apps) minus all the HDMI CEC bugs.

If my TV is anything to go by, now nearly 8 years old at this point (top of the range at one point), the apps generally get stripped away over time as the TV is no longer supported. My tv's smart features are a shadow of what it once were when new. But I'm not throwing away a perfectly good screen because the smart app aren't there. 130 quid and its offer better features than any TV ever could. Hopefully, they keep making them.

Precisely. The "Smart" part of my Samsung flagship TV started going bad the second they came out with next years model. It doesn't even function now, but wants to "update" it every single time I try to go in it, and it "updates" for a very long time. Then nothing works. Five minutes later, it wants to "update" again. I've been using a Roku for years. They still support my box and it still runs great.

Had one since gen 3. Before gen 4 came out it felt like Apple TV was a niche and that Apple didn’t care much. The interface and remote from back then were not too great imo. The release of gen 4 was the introduction of the modern Apple TV experience. I was hooked once that came out. It felt like I unlocked way more out of my tv than ever before. The apps, the speed, the feel, the integration with my devices on a much higher level. It was quite worth the upgrade from 3 to 4. When I moved out of my parents house I acquired a 4K model for my place and have been using it since. I will concur though, the Siri remote on gen 4 and the 1st gen 4k was not ideal. I appreciate the look and thinness. But that’s where the appreciation stops. The touch surface was extremely sensitive, I’ve heard of people having material issues with it being glass and shattering, it was easy to lose, and my personal biggest complaint was no mute button. That is the most important for me since I’m a person who mutes commercials or content when im cable streaming and need to select new things to watch. It was incredibly annoying. However, the new remote works with the old systems so crisis adverted. I used my HomePod as my main speaker through home theatre so I “have atmos available” but lets not kid ourselves, that’s like 5ge on AT&T. Love my Apple TV, works like a hoot!

Why? Both have numerous reviews by big accounts. If you already have Apple products in use, get the Apple TV 4K Box, if you’re at home in the Android/Amazon Alexa world, get one of the Fire products. The Apple TV has NO (I repeat) NO adverts on the Home Screen. You only are presented with ads within apps like KZread. The current A15 chip is more than enough power for at least five years, and the tvOS gets updates also for at least five years. So no, a comparison is not necessary at all!

Not a fan of the 2022 remote like I thought I would be. And they last forever. The 2015 Apple TV 1080p is still more powerful than most other out there and STILL getting OS updates each year. So I have 3. … Forgot to mention. AirPods Spatial Audio works on this. Fantastic for full surround sound night watching not to bother others

I have the last generation Apple TV 4K. I get a lot of crazy motion blur and jittering when the camera pans and videos. I’m trying to figure out what’s going on whether the Apple TV is getting old or it’s the fact that my TV that I purchased in 2015 has some issue. When I use the native apps in my TV I don’t get this problem.

My TV doesn’t have HDR10 or Dolby Vision. Only 4k at 60fps. It’s a old Hisense TV. Is it worth getting a Apple TV or Do I need to upgrade my TV first ?

I bought two Apple TV 4K, but I haven't been able to download any application for two months because both devices keep saying that I can't connect to the App Store (Apple can't help with that). I recommend other products like the NVIDIA Shield.

I just bought the one, but for some reason I don't have the dolby vision promt that's above the HDR 4k 60hz prompt that's in your video, do you know why that is.... oh yeah my wife and I really appreciate your videos, thanks

I had always thought that the Apple TV is subpar, until after I watched this video. I have the Chromecast with Google TV and the main issue is that the Apple TV app would crash from time to time.

Stupid question, yet: does it support Bluetooth headphones/earphones? Also: does it come with its own hdmi cable, and if not what hdmi should I need?

Couple of nifty things:You can deactivate the touch and make it a fully mechanical remote so no false gestures. Also, if you have decent TV speaker, Apple Music is great as you can siri quick requests and lyrics and info are on display at all times

There is no such thing as a decent TV speaker😂 . The only TV speakers that come close to decent are those on Sony OLEDs (and the ones I've heard on older CRT TVs when space was not a constraint). But if one already has a Sony OLED, one needs to stop being a mooch and spend 20% of that outlay on a decent stereo at the very least 😆
