    I'm interested in purchasing a Pepe Rolling Mill; however, I am not sure if I need the wire channels or not. I am interested in texturing wire (not interested in making wire). You mention texturing in this video but didn't show it. Did you put the wire in a wire channel with the texture plate? I'm trying to decide if I want more real estate by not getting the channels. Any other benefits to getting the wire channels?

    I have never used a texture plate on the wire just on sheet metals. I really like having both options to make my own sheet and wire all in one mill. So if you can't get 2 mills this is you best option.

  • @stevegarland7075

    Randy I have a question are you ruining your rolling mill by running those plates without protection. Steel on steel? Every video I’ve seen uses some kind of card stock or something to protect the rollers. I used the “MEOW” to order tools from PEPE Tools, wanted to say thanks for teaching me how to use my new 130mm rolling mill!

    I would advise to use softer metals to sandwich the steel texture plates. If you accidentally roll bare steel into the plates when it’s too tight it’ll damage the rollers.

  • @GomeowCreations

    @GomeowCreations

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yeah that is a good point. The rollers are a hardened steel and the texture plates are a cold rolled steel. You are not going to hurt your rollers doing this as long as you are clamping down on the soft metal like brass, copper, silver or gold with the pattern on the soft metal. It would start to damage things if you just put the texture plate in on its own and tightened it down and tried rolling it through. But don't know why you would do that haha.

    @@GomeowCreations i mean it will not transfer the texture on to the metal. I tried buying the laser printed patterns from Rolling Mill Resources but the patterns did not transfer to my silver. You much be doing something wrong. Seeing that I haven't had any problems using texture plates and laser cut paper. Are you just not tightening I'd down enough? Normally I will put the material in with the pattern and smug them up on the roller and then take them out and then tighten it up just a little more.

    I am kind of frustrated, when I do it the way you say to do it, the handle on the roller machine is extremely hard to turn. And if I make it that it’s loose the pattern doesn’t go on the metal at all or just a little bit. I tried what you said to turn it on little past the zero when I have it set but then I can barely turn the handle. Did my husband and put that handle on a little bit too tight? I was so excited to get this rolling machine, and now I’m kind of disappointed

    I’m having the same problem with it and I’ve tried every way possible! I’ve used a durstan mill in class and so I know how to do it but this small Pepe I cannot get to work for textures at all. I’m so disappointed with it.
