HOW to use SE ME in SPANISH
"SE ME" in Spanish is a peculiar combination for English speakers since you don't have that in your language.
That's why in this video, I'll show you how to use "me", "te" and "se" very intuitively in Spanish.

“Se les hizo tarde” can mean both “You guys are late” or “They are late”?
@Spanishacks

That’s right! "LES" works for both of them 👌
@gerlautamr.656

From context you know who we're talking about, but to avoid any confusión, it's better to say the pronoun at the beginning of the phrase, for example: A ustedes se les olvidó. A ellos se les olvidó. This works with any other phrase where this kind of confusión may arise.

i guess in spanish from spain the difference would be seen. Se les hizo tarde vs Se os hizo tarde

I love hearing a native talk in Spanish with Spanish and English subtitles going at the same time. Thank you.
I like how you did the subtitles. I hate when the English subtitles are too large, because my eyes wander and I don’t focus on the Spanish words.
I love the repetition, simplicity, and your reasoning. The subtitles in both languages are a masterstroke.
Wish I could give you 2 likes. I really enjoyed this video and got a lot out of it.

I've been learning Spanish since I was a kid, and today I learned how to use “Se me "in a good way, hahahahah. I forgot everything.
These videos make me realize that Spanish teachers and language teachers are no longer necessary. Definitely looking like the last year I teach Spanish. I am neither good looking enough nor have any sort of accent in English to even be attention grabbing for students. Best of luck to all you language teachers who compete with youtube.
Muchas gracias por este video, he aprendido mucho
Muy excellente. You're a very good teacher. I agree with a comment below that your pronunciation really stands out, especially for a beginner with poor hearing. I'll be back.

Accents are always beautiful and they don’t cause any problems in understanding. It is mispronunciation which makes confusion. People blame accents when they need to recognize that it is the pronunciation that is most important. Every language learner should know this and realize also everyone has an accent of some kind and some are more beautiful than others but the listener is who determines that level of beauty. ❤

"también tu YA tienes" this "YA" is not well spanish here cause youre saying that he has something that he lack in the past and now he finally have. Is like "you finally have a strong acent" instead of just "do you have a strong acent"
Y de donde va eso “se”? Me parece que tienes que explicarlo
Great video. Love the subtitles, super helpful cause the YT transcript function really sucks. This pattern is awesome and yet you're the first person I've seen teaching it. And you speak clearly enough for me to hear the little words that Spanish people squish too fast... So, I'm wondering... is translated more like se me ocure? Because I'm always using I'm wondering in English but I don't think it's used that much in Spanish...

Thank you for your words and for watching the video 🙌🏽 Regarding your question "se me ocurre" has plenty of different meanings, so I wouldn’t reduce it to one thing. Still, "I’m wondering" usually works as "me preguntaba". 😄

@@gerlautamr.656 hey thanks! The thing is that I've never heard anything Mexican use this pregunta/o/aba There's something else that they use of indicate the same meaning... You see in English, we use "I'm wondering" when what we really mean is "I'm pretty sure about XYZ, but I'm trying to open up the conversation so the other person didn't get defensive. Like maybe at a restaurant we might say I'm wondering if you made this coffee strong... Meaning: it is really weak and I am offering you an "out" to fix your mistake...
May I know why olvidó was not changed to olvidas when me was changed to te? I am currently learning the language. Gracias de antemano.
¿La gente dirá se se olvidó? (he forgot) O otra forma ? ¿De dónde viene el se? De se lo di o de olvidarse ? In french we would say "ça m'est sorti de l'esprit" (it got out of my mind).

En Colombia se dice "se me fue la paloma" como una versión más larga (o la versión completa) de "se me fue". ¿Tambíen se dice así en México?

Acabo de ver tu video y se me olvidó 😂
se le antoja un taco. o se antoja un taco. significan lo mismo?
Se me olvidó que te olvide.
is it just me or you often pronounce it as "olvído" (for example at 2:38) instead of "olvidó "

Realmente no me cuesta entender las frases, sino cuando usar las, sobretodo en contextos fuera de lo común… así que, si hay algo que pasó sin querer o tal vez sin intención se puede usar esta forma.

I never understodd and still don't understand why Spanish teachers decide to teach Spanish IN SPANISH. I mean - by definition, your audience doesn't speak Spanish very well, so why add the additional burden to them?! It's like "I'm going to explain about this language you can't speak to you, in that language which you can't speak. WHY?
