Foam is a beaut for behind skirting. Loving the series lads. Still love my 20 min easi-fill for small jobs like this. Also I found that by using a good LED work light shining across the wall you can spot defects more easily.

Love all your videos and trying to fix cracks between my walls (some plasterboard some brick/plastered) and ceilings which were skimmed 2 years ago to hide artex. Nearly every room has cracks :( some times you use watered pva some times DIM primer, when and why do you use primer?

Thanks. usually B.I.N. will be used for small jobs and bare wood.

Whats the reason you dont just fill the entire gaps/holes with filler rather than using foam first?

I found polyfilla cracks when i was filling my edges up i was using powder and also the ready mixed stuff in a tube

Quick question if you were doing a whole room where it was wallpapered say similar bare wall to this one, would it be quicker to reskim or patch like you’ve done here?

I have the same question and I guess the absence of an answer tells the story. Its a testament to the mans abilities that he gets a decent finish on this wall but it surely is quicker and cheaper to skim the wall.

around the skirting board and the door frame why you choose that method with a filler rather than decorating caulk enjoyed the video.

Thanks, the foam helps no need for caulk.

In your other video with the 2 million views, you didn't bother with the undercoat plaster after putting expanding foam in the crack. You went straight to the Polyfilla. Why did you put undercoat plaster this time round? Cause I've got deep cracks all over my flat...I've cut them until all the loose material has come off (an inch and half deep). Shall I copy what you do in this video or your other video?

Both are fine, it's a cheaper filler to use undercoat plaster.

In some cases you can glue it back by making small holes and filling. Just all depends what's going on. Thanks

It's at home and it's a rented house so just enough for a demo. Although I may end up stripping the rest, especially the chimney breast. Do some videos on corners and bullnose lining paper. Thanks

I stopped using caulk because it takes days to dry fully and can shrink back and crack. Thanks

What's the difference between using wet mix instead of expanding foam and some dry light weight filler??? Cheers

expanding foam removes all movement.

@@PaintingandDecorating you are the biggest jinx lol on a job for a friend of a friend he sent pics so I didn't bother to go and quote in person... Been here 3 hours prepping no paint out yet 😩😩 suicidal Sunday or what. Everything was fine until I watched these videos haha

I am filling the top of a skirting board. I can only apply expanding foam in short lengths of the skirting where the gap to the wall is big enough to put expanding foam the rest is just a small crack the whole way along. Can i use polyfilla the whole way along the skirting to cover the less wide gaps or should I use decorators caulk?

You should have mixed abit of pva into the Undercoat plaster
