    i’ve been working out for nearly 7 years, and recently bought lifting straps because i wanted to see if they’d help my reps. i’m Autistic so i was absolutely overwhelmed + quite frankly having a meltdown on trying to find a tutorial that actually showed a POV/step by step literal guide. this was the only one that showed me exactly how i usually learn. thank you so so much

    If you need straps, your hands are too weak, and it's too much weight

  • @mar2506

    @mar2506

    But if you can lift much more, how is it too much weight? There is no reason to stop training back which is the most important muscle

  • @smashleyscott8272

    @smashleyscott8272

    10 ай бұрын

    @mar2506 ... who said anything about stopping?? Let me clarify... are you a competitive lifter?? Probably not. Therefore, if you're lifting so heavy that you outline your grip strength, you are lifting too heavy. More reps, less weight, and the strength will come, especially in your hands.

    @@smashleyscott8272 true back is more than one muscle and even if we skip deadlift here, lifting straps are more commenly used in lat pulls and rows these days to prevent pre fatigued forearms I dont think forearms are meant to keep up with lats And people naturally want to focus on back muscles without wasted forearms.

  • @smashleyscott8272

    @smashleyscott8272

    @mar2506 .... I know why straps are used... and the idea that forearms aren't meant to keep up with lats is shot to hell by the reality of those who rock/,mountain climb. If you get pre-fatigue in yoyr forearms, you aren't adequately training your grip strength.

    Wrong, you shouldn't use these loop type, instead use two pieces of 50 cm (20") white Judo belt, so you can tight it with one hand. ☝️

    The loop should be reversed and the stitching to the loop should be on your thumb side. Once around the bar then through your fingers if you have small hands, you just made the bar thicker with all that cloth. I had a pair of thin leather straps from ATP they were the best.
