I've never had an issue with my appion, I guess I don't over tighten it. But I could certainly see how that would be an issue. That's a handy thing to keep in mind. Thanks for the video

For the price, the Appion MGAVCT Core Removal Tool should be calibrated and ready to use out of the box.

Why can’t Appion get this done at the factory? Let’s all adjust our fuel mapping curve when we buy our next new vehicle as this will save manufacturers the programming expense.

I have a love hate relationship with Appion. I’m wanting to try out the new fieldpiece with the sight glass.

I guess this would be a royal pain on a roof when it's over 100°. I need a tool that works on the first try.

I have two Appion core removal tools. One grabbed the core perfect out of the box. The other needed to be adjusted to grab. I noticed one has the logo on the body while the other one has no logo. Can’t remember which one worked out of the box.

I have 3 appion core tools and for the mini split core and their depressors (those are decent)and soI had to donate one on a job because it got the core stuck so bad. Sucks but I learned to pinch and nurse it just right every time I use em to not have this happen again…I will have to go back one day in the winter to recover the donated appion 😢

I had to do the same thing to my Appion Core removers. I would recommend using the Knipex non-maring pliers 😎👍🏽

I over tighten everything by hand . I always have to pay a lot of attention when doing this .

Weird I recently bought a pair of these and they both have the opposite problem. The gap was too tight so I really had to force them in but after 1-2 uses they fixed themselves

I use the Appions, and have had this issue also. Something that I have done is use the head from my JB on my Appion vcrt. Unless Appion changes the tips I probably will be going with another brand. Probably the FP ones. It’s a shame because other than the issue with grabbing the core they feel solid.

I think it’s all preference. For me I’ll never buy anything but Appion core tools. They have proven themselves time and time again, the re build kits you basically re build the whole unit to brand new and the solid construction of them. It’s just like leak detectors and brands of equipment. It all depends on what any given person is comfortable using. Some people prefer heated diode leak detector over infrared because they’re comfortable with it or vice versa. Just like people that say they hate mini splits, more often then not they just don’t know how to work on them or didn’t like the training they received. It’s all a game of who likes what and what each person has the best results with

Have 3 or 4 of the appion core tools. Don't really like them. Seem to be way too finicky. Premium price marginal performance.

Actually it should not effect your vacuum. You are going to remove the core before you pull your vacuum. After you remove the core you will snug the tool back down to tighten the seal, pull your vacuum, Then weigh in your charge, then put the core back in while the system is under positive pressure.. Works every time for me. The YJ and FP tools work better than this thing anyway.
