Your supposed to dissolve 8 oz of eosinophils salt in 2 quarts of distilled water and 1/3 of battery water out and refill with salt solution. Oh. And shake very well. It supposedly take ten days to clear the sulfates.

This battery reconditioning program exceeded my presumptions. It worked on any drill battery, several AA and AAA batteries,>>> batery.repair and any camera battery. The steps are simple and the act itself is exciting to do. No matter what type of battery you`ve got, it is sure to function again!

my battery was 12v 4.10amp. After add epsom salt like instructions and recharging battery over night, it droped to 8V 3amp and hot like boil water for two days. It ruined the battery. Better to recharge with battery acid; safe and still cheap.

Have you used a hydrometer? A battery can read 12+ volts and be close to dead

what is the ratio of water to salt?

There are a few suggestions for fixing a car battery never try to do this until you are sure what you are doing - the acid can burn you Test the voltage first - there may be a dead cell which would waste your time. Check the battery fluid. Try to fully charge the battery. (I read about these and more on Jons mender guide site )

You don't think or did you wash all that build up out of them 1st?

First thing I would do is clean all terminals and wire lugs. I mean I am surprised you dont have massive voltage drop. Corrosion kills!

Save your time. It will not remove sulfation, which is the cause of the battery not performing well

Yeah i know, novice at the time. Definitely dissolve it first.

Who the hell said Epsom salt restores batteries? Over and proved wrong. Manufacturer would use it if it did. Charge a bad battery at 16V, discharge to 10 V in a 12v battery, recharge, repeat a couple cycles. This normally does the trick, if not, junk it.

You're lucky you didn't blow the battery caps off while charging it

you can use anywater this is only the process of cleaning then you rinse and use distill +acid

the best success that i've had was with the Magic Mender Wizard (i found it on google) without a doubt the no.1 course that I've tried.

Hey everyone, the best results that I have ever had was by using the Magic Mender Wizard (just google it) definately the best info that I have ever tried.

I cannot see the point of adding anything such as epsom salts to a battery that then contaminates the existing acid. Surely the correct approach is to empty the battery of the acid and rinse it several times to remove the initial crap and then use a suitable chemical to correctly desulphate the lead plates. Then after this is carried out thoroughly rinse the battery again several times checking that all the chambers are clean. Add fresh battery electrolite and gently start the charging process using a basic charger not an intelligent one.

Disolved epsom salt is an electrolyte solution for the battery.

If you have ac just collect the water from the condenser coil.

I can't believe the ignorance I'm seeing here. First of all, you test the battery and it's showing 6 volts, which is NORMAL. Then you add a a huge quantity of epsom salt to the battery and THEN you add ordinary tap water! Only DISTILLED water should be used in a battery. Just what the hell were you trying to accomplish to this good battery? It seems you were trying to destroy it.

eyeball settle down champ, it was just an experiment! and NO I wasnt particularly concerned about getting these batteries back, all I wanted was enough voltage and current to test the motor, and control boards. EAGBOD
