Can We Recondition Golf Cart Batteries At Home?? Same as a car battery?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

On tonight's show: we try an at-home remedy for an ailing golf cart, Brendan pours out some liquid, and some batteries sit on the ground... What could possibly go wrong?
In our series documenting the attempt(s) to repair many things in the fleet of Cliffjumper Cars, this is a short video showing the the attempt to resuscitate a few bad car batteries which happen to be used to power this old golf cart. The magnesium sulfate solution used in the video can be made using the instructions found at this link:
www.the-diy-life.com/recondit...
This process can be used on just about any modern car 12 volt battery, in addition to the ones used in 36V and 48V systems found in electric golf carts, so hopefully this will be helpful to some folks!
Make sure to like, subscribe, and share if you are a car enthusiast who enjoys working on your own car as a shade tree mechanic or fellow grease monkey, or if you just enjoy watching the misery of trying to keep one of the most notoriously unreliable cars ever produced in running condition! Not even The Car Wizard, Johnny the Car Ninja, Hoovie or Tavarish would dare tackle the insanity of resurrecting a 200,000 mile Corrado VR6 at the same time as a vintage Fiat Spider!! But I'm a special kind of crazy.
If you have a Corrado, Fiat, Alfa, or some other weird quirky car that is a challenge to keep on the road, please share in the comments!

So.. I obtained a ezgo txt today, they were mostly dry, i put some distilled water, but the charger does not click on. I notice some of the batteries are swollen around the positive posts. I dont know if I am wasting my time trying to get them to take a charge.

Open up the ports on top and shine a light inside to inspect the plates in there... if they are corroded badly, this reconditioning process will probably not work. If they are only mildly corroded, it may work. If you don't see any corrosion, then try using the epsom salt method and slow charge them... they should revive.

For this to work you need to drain the batteries out flush with warm water and baking soda until liquid runs clear the n repeat if need be,. Last step add Epsom salt to distilled water then trickle charge back to full health is Wealth dude

Sorry, went through quite a few life changes, moved, and no longer have the golf cart. Only achieved partial success with the battery reconditioning. Two batteries turned out to have the inner workings too far corroded to be able to be fixed with a chemical flush, refill & recharge.

Never! There is a pretty long list of things that need to be done on it and I will be getting to that again shortly. Motor mounts, some suspension work, heater elements in the Recaro seats, underbody aero, all sorts of stuff…

Appreciate the perspective. However, I make no apologies for my stream of dialogue. It's what I do. Cheers!
