How To Use A Twca Cam Knife Tutorial

Ғылым және технология

Got a Twca Cam and want to get the best out of it? Well, you are in luck!
This is a short tutorial on how to get the most out of your knife. It's basically a distillation of my course I have run over the past few years at Spoonfest.
I take you through the hand positioning and movements you need to maximise the knifes potential AND keep you safe while doing it.
Thanks for watching!

Great video, Owen, I have two twca cams and have struggled with them. This is very enlightening.

Wow. Thanks Owen. And here I’ve been thinking for well over a year, “I wonder what Twca cam stands/is an abbreviation for”. Did I do the simple, smart thing and do a google search. Yeah, 5 minutes ago 😂🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the tips. I like the natural stop at the front of the spoon’s bowl. Gonna save me at least one good nick. Well, just finished stropping my Twca, time to go have fun. Cheers!

Hi, Owen--In your opinion, how much does 'Left Hand' or 'Right Hand' specs matter.

Great video. Thank you. I am thinking of buying the Nic Westerman twca but unsure whether to go for the 50mm or 65mm . Any guidance you can give in this respect? Many thanks.

I use the 65mm as I find that it is the best size for making eating spoons s they tend to have shallow bowls. The 50mm would probably be great for stuff like scoops or hollowing out kuksa. I only have the 65mm one though

Being right handed, I often have problem with the front right edge, I can get it as thin as the left edge without making a mistake; do you think I can use a TWCA cam on a shallow spoon for that edge?

Great, thanks. I'll have a go with mine now, had it almost a year and not really used it. Can it be used for an egg shaped bowl also or just round bowls?
