    I have zero knowledge of any kind of handy trade skills. Slowly learning on my own, and have been buying ozito tools (I'm up to 3) because they are affordable and work well for my little jobs. Have big projects in my head but been scared to do them because I know I would need a circular saw - so thank you for this.

    I like the way you can get good results without a $100,000.00 investment in exotic machines that you see in some KZread carpentry videos, mainly from America. I've subscribed. I've been doing DIY things since the 1960s and I've built a couple of sailing boats. I still have some clamps from 1967 and my tradesman grade AEG corded 184mm circular saw from 1978 is still like new. My hand-held saw cuts have never been accurate enough to satisfy me, so I bought a Triton Workbench and used that for many years in both rip and crosscut modes. That went to a refurbishing/recycling organisation a couple of years ago. As did my GMC compound sliding mitre saw because the slider bars had become rusty after we moved from dry climate Melbourne to humid Nelson Bay. I didn't think that I'd want to build stuff again. I was very dissatisfied with my GMC mitre saw because I found it impossible to calibrate and set and I wasn't sorry to see it go. For example, the only way to get the rear fence at 90 degrees to the saw cut was to grind the adjustment slots for a couple of hours. None of the pre-set settings were accurate. The laser cutting guide was way off and couldn't be adjusted. It was probably accurate enough for cutting fire wood. I'm now faced with needing to do some DIY stuff and have to buy a few tools on a budget. Apart from durability, how are you finding the Ozito tools for accuracy? I have a drill and impact drill combo that seems very solid. The funny thing about my AEG saw is that it's put on a lot of weight since it was new. It feels a lot heavier than it used to. Maybe being in my 70s means that I'm not as strong as I used to be. How could that happen?

    Hi! I have found really good accuracy and durability in all my Ozito tools. I have the sliding compound mitre saw and the back fence is dead on. I do always double check the movable angles with an angle finder or speed square if I want SUPER accurate cuts like in making furniture. The circular saws are always very accurate and I hit my line every time. All in all, they are great tools for the home diyer. I use at least some of my tools every single weekend.

  • @NicoleHerrickDIY

    @NicoleHerrickDIY

    2 жыл бұрын

    In the features on the Bunnings website, it says: Max cut depth. Or on the saw itself if you’re in store, it usually says it somewhere on the model, definitely on the box as well.

  • @NicoleHerrickDIY

    @NicoleHerrickDIY

    There are 2 different Ozito cordless circular saws, one is the 150mm and the other is the 165mm. It wouldn’t be safe to use the 165 blade on the 150 machine.

    @@mckeon1960 ok, you’ll need a drill that has hammer action and a masonry bit. Make sure you go nice and slow and stop every 5mm or so and blow or vacuum out the dust. Don’t push super hard on the drill, allow the bit to do most of the work. Go at a slightly slower speed. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iqVl1rV_lNjghtI.html

    Love your "can-do" attitude but we have to get you a decent workbench, lol! Also, when you mention that something is a "mil" do you mean a thousandth of an inch? Or do you mean a millimeter ( a thousandth of a meter)?Australia is sort of a mix of Imperial and Metric, right? Asking as an American.
