Great video very easy to follow just next time I suggest you get some ESD wrist straps or at least touch metal before you touch any internal components to release any static electricity you might have because you can damage some parts if you shock them with static electricity (even if you don't see/feel the shock specially since you're doing it on the carpet). Sorry I'm a computer tech and I had to mention that for others doing their own upgrades.

Thanks for a good and clear video. I have ordered one refurbised one with 16gb and 512gb ssd with i7 cpu. Have seen some other guide and noone is starting with removing the battery connection. I mean, we all learnt that we always should start with remove power. As one already mentioned, use an anti static wrist band is always a good idea. Better to stay safe than being sorry afterwards. When reading the specifikation on HP, they write that 2x16GB is maximum but have some tried to use sticks with lover CAS and higher freq, will it work and will it benefit in some better performance? 1TB of m2 disk is stated to be max but I have seen at corsair upgrade site that 2TB should work fine too.

Hey Eric, I hope you are well. Thanks for the video. I have a similar laptop which has overheating problems. What could be the cause of overheating? Is the fan broken or it could be something different? Do you have a video demonstrating fan replacement? Note: I have never opened it before since I bought it in the UK, about 2 years ago. Thanks!

  • @erikorehek7843

From Experience it could possibly be the fan and vent need to be cleaned. The air vent on the side pushed out air from the fan being located on the bottom the laptop causing dust, lint etc to get inside. I had a laptop always shut off and that was the fix. Give it a try. Best of luck
