Get it!!
Just turned 50 and began a new chapter in my life with weight lifting the last year. Your podcast has helped me in every step of the way for information on lifting and diet. The dead lift im trying to master and really appreciate this master class can't wait to test the waters with all the new information. 💪💪
Deadlifts are so effective for my back and knee pain. Started practicing with dumbbells and then moved to barbell. I can currently deadlift 185 pounds (w bar) and I weigh approx 190. Love this exercise
I deadlifted earlier today 😊 It’s an extremely useful exercise when performed appropriately.
You guys convinced me to incorporate deadlift back into my routine.
you guys can pull me out of any slump! saw this masterclass and immediately got hyped to lift!!! 🏋♀
I love this as I struggle with deadlifts and my low back. Always worried about lifting heavier.
i love how adam explains things sm, he's very visual and as a visual learner myself, i appreciate it sm. it really helps me understand things a lot better. like the whole opening a window thing when doing overhead press, picking something up on the floor, shoulder being shrugged forward, the core/spine thing etc.
I deadlifted twice a week for a couple months and definitely started to feel the traditional signs of overtraining. I did cut back to once a week but I feel like that’s not stimulating enough for me somehow. Love the advice to go heavy and light in the same week, definitely gonna try that out
Video just on time. Started working out about 3-4 months ago & planned on doing less isolated exercises & more of the big compound exercises. Most definitely adding this 😎👍🏾
I liked this before I’d even watched it. Nothing like waking up and finding the new podcast is a Deadlift master class. Looking forward to this one.
I'm really glad I came across this channel! I'm learning so much, listening to you guys. Thank you!
I'm a CPT and absolutely love the content you guys share. Definitely my favorite Podcast! Always learn something new. Thank you!! 🙏
I have watched a ton of your content, but this one was so full of information that I feel like I need to rewatch it about four times. I've been deadlifting for about 30 years and reps have always been touch and go reps. No one has ever told me to stop and put the bar down between every rep. I feel stupid for doing it wrong for so long. Thank you! I did deadlift last night, but I can't wait for my next deads workout so I can do it right.
As a 45ish old man who's ran through anabolic, performance and aesthetic . I truly appreciate all of the hard work you guys have put into all of your content. Thank you all for everything 🙏 💯🔝💪👍

I’ve been waiting for an episode like this!!! So, so pumped! The deadlift is my favorite compound movement, and I am so excited to put into practice all the guys advise here. And Adam’s comment that he thinks the deadlift is the king of all exercises…Heck yeah! Thank you MindPump as always!

Love the Master Class series. Made me rethink some of my deadlifting habits.
You guys have changed my life. I'm currently listening to your older pod casts on Spotify.
27, been Deadlifting and Squatting for 2 years and just hit my PR for 500 dead’s & 475 squat
this master classes are awesome.... especially since I am a new personal trainer, I am getting lots of information and a better way to explain to my clients the how and why we are doing what we are doing. thanks to all of you!
Hello Mind Pump my beloved podcast! I am back to listen to another video of yours! 🥰
I did Rows for years trying to get my back stronger. I started focusing on Deadlift about 2 years ago and I have noticed a huge difference in the entire back side of my body. Way more then rows ever did
Perfect timing for this video! My hips rise and I'm working to get this fixed! Good tips!
Mind Pump continuing to provide a PhD level education for the masses! Thanks for all you do. Let’s go! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I just started deadlifts today with serious intent and I've only been going to the gym for 4 months I'm deadlifting 350 pounds
Love the master classes…really help me to understand the movements & then I share them with my teenager who just started working out. Been using dumbbells up until now, but will be hitting the barbell at the next gym session!
Thanks again for the master class! I appreciate the focus on proper form and preventing injury. I tweaked my back with bad form about a year and a half ago. Since focusing on proper form I am so much stronger and have less risk of injury today.
Such a value masterclass! Thanks guys!
Undeniably best podcast in the fitness space, informative, corrective best advice always 👌
Thank you for this! I’m always trying to improve my form with deadlifts!
Great episode! I have been working more on my deadlift. Currently in phase two of Maps Strong and loving the feel of my body feeling strong.
Love listening to you guys, great information 💪🏼
Thank you for the episode. A lot of questions answer with this video.
I pray that this podcast hits 500k by the end of this year. Hands down the best
Awesome video, thank you! Deadlifts are by far my favourite exercise. Love the technicalities of it and there’s just nothing like that feeling when you get a great lift!
Hello(: I’m new to the community!! So my whole life I’ve always wanted to have my own businesses and a week ago today actually i told myself that i just gotta do it and start now. I searched best personal training certification and one of your videos popped up and honest to god it was the first and only video i saw. After watching that video i booked a call with NCI and starting next month i will be in their level 1 course. I know you guys said y’all work with them, not sure if y’all get a part of the money or whatever, but the fact that y’all were telling people to go to different places and not just to get your stuff speaks volumes about the kind of people y’all are and i love that. Now after watching more videos i know for sure that what i initial thought about you guys was right. Y’all are amazing truthful people, who truly want to help others. I will forever be apart of y’all’s community no matter what!! I would really love to win the giveaway and if y’all wanna throw in the starter bundle i wouldn’t be upset(: if not it’s cool I’ll just continue to save to get it one day!! Hope y’all have a great day and thank you for everything!!!
Getting back into weight lifting and enjoying deadlifts. This episode has been helpful. Shout out from the UK!
Excellent, this is the most complete deadlift video I have ever seen!

Absolutely love all of your content and knowledge you share. I love your programs, I have Prime, Anabolic, Aesthetic and Symmetry. Thanks guys!!
Great break down! I listened to this last night, applied what I learned in the morning and surprise surprise - it helped!
Definitely my favorite exercise. I used to get so much low back pain doing it. But I thought that was natural. It took years to figure out what I was doing wrong. Now I try to explain to my wife how to do it (unsuccessfully lol) but the way u guys explain it will definitely help her and me as well. Thanks guys for all the valuable information!
Great detail!!! Very good episode.
Very informative. I just happen to have dead lift day yesterday. I can definitely improve on my form after watching this.
This was so informative and it was great to listen too 😃
Sooo helpful! I started deadlifting for the first time a month ago and it’s now my favorite compound lift. Something that would be supper helpful is how form might be impacted based on body type (e.g. short/long legs, arms, torso) and body type specific cues. Thanks! 🙏🏽
Was needing this! 👊🏻💥✋🏻
Few thoughts, definitely need to revisit my technique and this shows me things that I need to work on and refine. Also needed to hear about the shortcomings, failures, the need to positively progress and not just chase numbers plus hearing someone say that the hook grip isn't the end all solution. Great info as always and a great reminder to dial it back sometimes if I feel the basics and mechanics are what need to be practiced at the cost of big #s.
Awesome content as always thanks guys I have not deadlifted in while because of back issues I need some coaching!
So much knowledge 👌🏾❤️
What a great episode! I love to deadlift!
Love the show good info. I have torn tendon in my right hand and always done the over under with my grip, and have noticed imbalances on my upper traps will definitely practice over grip
Been waiting for this episode
Big fan of deadlifts 🙌🏻 Thanks for this ❤
Thanks Mind Dudes!
Got a trainer to teach me barbell lifts because I started listening to you guys. Excited to try these cues! Thanks!
Great session guys. Went little heavy couple weeks back deadlifting but back is healed now so I'm gonna get back to this but little lighter
@strawberryyogurt0
11 ай бұрын
What did you do to ‘heal’ your back? I know my technique or bracing was off when I feel soreness in my back during or the day after my deadlift session. If my legs were sore, that would be a good deadlift session. Currently out of commission after my deadlift session Monday. Had to skip my PM squat session later that day. I’m guessing I’m probably looking at a 2 weeks timeframe.
This episode is gold
I've come to love deadlifting more because of you guys🙌🥰.
Thank you for this!
Starting these next week as part of my training
These master class episodes are becoming my favourite. Fine tuning is always necessary.

Love the deadlift! i've only got a few plates so I am really working on slow reps and making sure i have enough time under tension. Forgot about the bands until this episode. Thank you so much.

Try to also explore using the weight ur doing for slow reps and doing some quicker touch and go reps, it'll be good to introduce a new way of doing it too
Just really getting into deadlifts glad to see this
The fellas back at it again, mastering the masterclass
This was just what I needed, thank you!

Great information, I had issues with grip during deadlifts
I bought MAAPS anabolic and I’m almost done with week one and I love it. I went the advanced route because I’ve already been lifting for a couple years now and it’s been a great program!
I just started anabolic and hired a trainer for 4 sessions just to perfect my deadlift, this episode was so valuable to my goals right now, great episode guys!
Thanks for the information going to use it for my powerlifting training and for the kids and clients I’m training
I lisen to you guys everyday on my 45ish min walk to mye gym. I'm currently on Maps Aestetic, and today is deadlift day!🥳
since my cancer surgeries, I have to focus on maintaining bone density. Deadlift is one of the top of my movement focus this year. The reminder of what a deadlift is - pause on the floor. Not touch and go. THANK YOU!
Another great video. I always avoided straps when I lifted at a gym that allowed chalk and had deep knurling on the bar. Then I was at a commercial gym and figured You can work your grip and still use straps to continue to lift heavy. If you can deadlift 700 on some shitty health club bar with straps then use the double over which I do until 405 (straps for 495,585 and 675) and get straps for the higher weight,(the only difference I notice is with chalk I set my feet then drop my hands to the bar quickly which primes me. With straps I am down by the bar for 30 seconds unless I am in my home gym with chalk. I do this rarely all singles. I hit 605 for 6 with leather straps and a belt (that workout plus 3 follow up sessions literally put slabs of muscle on what is already a body part that is dominant. The best deadlift assistance for me are glute ham raised, 45 degree back raise with a loaded bar off floor or far less weight across the back. Zercher squats and hanging leg raises with ankle weights are my favorite trunk stability assistance exercises.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING. I just completed a 16 week program and throughout it I was doing RDL's 2-3x weekly. I am talking 4 sets of 10-12. I would attempt to do my max lifts at these. I am a straight up lifting fiend and this program had me so sore and my energy extremely low. Needless to say, I was 100% overtraining. This content, and all of your content, has been so helpful to me. I have been lifting about 2.5 years and so I am an absolute learner and will remain one (in all aspects of life). This is why lol.
I'm like Adam one heavy day one technique day. These master class videos are on point.
I did a Starting Strength style program for like 7-8 months and got my major lifts up FAST. I'm changing up my program a little bit now but once I get back to a "pure strength" phase with the big lifts again I want to work toward a powerlift meet just for fun. I need to get my deadlift up another 50lbs or so if I can. Can't wait to listen to the rest of this one!!
Perfect timing with today being deadlift day 💪
Great info
Great episode! Will certainly try sumo deadlift to break my plateau. Thank you! 🤘
Back in 09 I was lifting 315 3 sets of 12. And I feel like my form wasn’t all 100 percent, but I was gain strength.. never had low back pain just soreness after working out… You guys helped me get a better form n I’m climbing from 165LB slowly building
Ah the podcast dedicated to the workout that is both my favorite and least favorite hour of my week. Looking forward to this.
I went to an exercise class with a "certified trainer " who had me doing deadlifts and did not correct my form. I pulled my back and hurt for a few days after. I always hated deadlifts because they hurt. I finally found an awesome tutorial on KZread on how to do them correctly and I love them now. Definitely one of my favorite exercises
@Madchris8828
11 ай бұрын
Glad to hear it! Definetly one of the most fun exercises to do when performed right. Bad training advice is unfortunately everywhere too
So I want to say thank you for another great master class. Also I watch your deadlift video on mindpump TV and it also help my son with his deadlift technique. I totally agree about the grip position. I do over hand grip until I can no longer. I not sure which was helping the other. When it comes to grip only. I wasn't sure if the dead lift was helping me or heavy dumbell shrugs? But whichever one was getting stronger, so was the other. I also love the suggestion of the priming with the prone cobra, combat stretch and supine Scorpion. I have never done it and I will try this on Saturday.
I don't know why, but I've always done touch and go and thought that was normal. Now I've learned that I get a 3 second rest pause at the bottom! Awesome!
Great info. Deadlift was one of my weakest lifts as I had never done one before I started my first MAPS program, Anabolic, 9 Months ago. I have continued to improve my deadlift but excited to use these tips to excel.
