i love how adam explains things sm, he's very visual and as a visual learner myself, i appreciate it sm. it really helps me understand things a lot better. like the whole opening a window thing when doing overhead press, picking something up on the floor, shoulder being shrugged forward, the core/spine thing etc.

I deadlifted twice a week for a couple months and definitely started to feel the traditional signs of overtraining. I did cut back to once a week but I feel like that’s not stimulating enough for me somehow. Love the advice to go heavy and light in the same week, definitely gonna try that out

I have watched a ton of your content, but this one was so full of information that I feel like I need to rewatch it about four times. I've been deadlifting for about 30 years and reps have always been touch and go reps. No one has ever told me to stop and put the bar down between every rep. I feel stupid for doing it wrong for so long. Thank you! I did deadlift last night, but I can't wait for my next deads workout so I can do it right.

Hello(: I’m new to the community!! So my whole life I’ve always wanted to have my own businesses and a week ago today actually i told myself that i just gotta do it and start now. I searched best personal training certification and one of your videos popped up and honest to god it was the first and only video i saw. After watching that video i booked a call with NCI and starting next month i will be in their level 1 course. I know you guys said y’all work with them, not sure if y’all get a part of the money or whatever, but the fact that y’all were telling people to go to different places and not just to get your stuff speaks volumes about the kind of people y’all are and i love that. Now after watching more videos i know for sure that what i initial thought about you guys was right. Y’all are amazing truthful people, who truly want to help others. I will forever be apart of y’all’s community no matter what!! I would really love to win the giveaway and if y’all wanna throw in the starter bundle i wouldn’t be upset(: if not it’s cool I’ll just continue to save to get it one day!! Hope y’all have a great day and thank you for everything!!!

Few thoughts, definitely need to revisit my technique and this shows me things that I need to work on and refine. Also needed to hear about the shortcomings, failures, the need to positively progress and not just chase numbers plus hearing someone say that the hook grip isn't the end all solution. Great info as always and a great reminder to dial it back sometimes if I feel the basics and mechanics are what need to be practiced at the cost of big #s.

What did you do to ‘heal’ your back? I know my technique or bracing was off when I feel soreness in my back during or the day after my deadlift session. If my legs were sore, that would be a good deadlift session. Currently out of commission after my deadlift session Monday. Had to skip my PM squat session later that day. I’m guessing I’m probably looking at a 2 weeks timeframe.

Another great video. I always avoided straps when I lifted at a gym that allowed chalk and had deep knurling on the bar. Then I was at a commercial gym and figured You can work your grip and still use straps to continue to lift heavy. If you can deadlift 700 on some shitty health club bar with straps then use the double over which I do until 405 (straps for 495,585 and 675) and get straps for the higher weight,(the only difference I notice is with chalk I set my feet then drop my hands to the bar quickly which primes me. With straps I am down by the bar for 30 seconds unless I am in my home gym with chalk. I do this rarely all singles. I hit 605 for 6 with leather straps and a belt (that workout plus 3 follow up sessions literally put slabs of muscle on what is already a body part that is dominant. The best deadlift assistance for me are glute ham raised, 45 degree back raise with a loaded bar off floor or far less weight across the back. Zercher squats and hanging leg raises with ankle weights are my favorite trunk stability assistance exercises.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING. I just completed a 16 week program and throughout it I was doing RDL's 2-3x weekly. I am talking 4 sets of 10-12. I would attempt to do my max lifts at these. I am a straight up lifting fiend and this program had me so sore and my energy extremely low. Needless to say, I was 100% overtraining. This content, and all of your content, has been so helpful to me. I have been lifting about 2.5 years and so I am an absolute learner and will remain one (in all aspects of life). This is why lol.

So I want to say thank you for another great master class. Also I watch your deadlift video on mindpump TV and it also help my son with his deadlift technique. I totally agree about the grip position. I do over hand grip until I can no longer. I not sure which was helping the other. When it comes to grip only. I wasn't sure if the dead lift was helping me or heavy dumbell shrugs? But whichever one was getting stronger, so was the other. I also love the suggestion of the priming with the prone cobra, combat stretch and supine Scorpion. I have never done it and I will try this on Saturday.

Great info. Deadlift was one of my weakest lifts as I had never done one before I started my first MAPS program, Anabolic, 9 Months ago. I have continued to improve my deadlift but excited to use these tips to excel.

You guys are pretty strong. I am impressed that Sal can deadlift 500+ pounds. I wonder how much Justin and Adam can lift. Great gains.
