As a heads-up, this boss also has a move that damages itself to get more bumps. This boss can also be burned, but each time it takes burn damage, that also adds a bump.

I DEFINITELY recommend using Return Postage and Zap Tap against Captain Falcon, since he attacks mainly with punches, he'll take damage for hitting Mario, great strat. WATCH OUT for his car attacks though, all I can say is superguard and pray to God.

Or just lower your hp to 5. And have a crap ton of BP. Buy a crap ton of power rush badges from the pianta parlor (like 15-20) and you’ll be able to beat whacka in like 3 hits. 😁

yeah. i already knew the whacka fight existed and captain falcon being in the thumnail can put people off. it's supposed to be an "anti-spoiler" (probably) but by putting him in the thumnail everyone's gonna think that gameXplain spoiled the (nonexistent) boss in the thumnail

I found Ms. Mowz the most helpful during both Superboss fights. Her love slap pierces through defense, so super boosting her stats make those slaps really eat through them. That plus a boosted Mario's Power Bounce can beat both in no time.

I think Prince Mush denies that sort of strategy, though. After a while, when his health starts to get low, he’ll just block any attack you throw at him, even if the move pierces defense. For example, when I fought him, I would use Quake Hammer (a move that pierces defense) to get rid of his copies, yet he didn’t take any damage. You HAVE to Superguard him.

I think ms. Mowz is pretty bad against whacka, since her slap counts as 4 hits for some reason, making him spawn 4 bumps from it. He only has 1 defense, so you’re not getting much value from mowz anyways

So whacka pretty much eats his own scabs

If you can't get the email to spawn, eat one of the collected wackabumps, then reload rogueport. Also, that 100% reward...

This took me well over two hours to activate I eaten all my bumps, kept screen transitioning all over rogueport, and went down the pit three times and still nothing until it finally popped up

Never would've thought they'd have a Captain Falcon cameo as a secret boss! I wonder if it's due to the popularity of Culex and his remake form, that Nintendo's starting to branch out and use other franchises as cameo superbosses. If so, then that is AWESOME 🤩🤩🤩 and I hope it becomes a mainstay 🥰

I wish I saw this before I went through the pit of 100 trials again. Now I have to do this and go through the pit of 100 trials for the third time. I didn’t know I had to drive the whackas away.

In case ur dumb like me, you actually have to get the RDM Extra Issue and not bum rush it into the pit again after driving off whacka and beating bonetail. I repeat, make sure you RECIEVE the issue and open it

I waited for half an hour before I figured that maybe I should read the previous issues and, what do you know, after reading the last one I FINALLY got the Extra Issue 🙏 so yeah, dont waste your time like me, at least mark the emails as “read” 😅

There’s a really easy way to cheese this fight btw I did this and I might do the boss again just because the cheese was way too much Spoilers below Since the boss only attacks if there’s stuff on field, you can use Vivian to use veil after Mario attacks to avoid the turn of the boss attacking and since there’s nothing on the field the following turn (veil burns two turns remember) the boss will spend time spawning in the projectiles and not attack, you attack with Mario and veil with Vivian in that order and you can basically take no damage and cheese the fight easy

The boss isn’t postgame, I just fought it before chapter 7, probably just need the rdm issue announcement

It seems you also need to complete every trouble. At least that's my theory, as the moment i turned in the 50th floor grafiti one, the issue popped up.

I found that using Power Lift, then Power Smash still dealt a lot of damage while keeping the bump count low. Whacka healed at least twice for me with only the normal bumps, but he also used an earthquake move to make props fall on his head to produce more bumps, up to 5 during my fight with him. I also made liberal use of all the healing items I brought with me (no Life Shrooms) when there were 3 or more bumps on the stage, rather than wasting star power on Sweet Feast.

Koops's Shield is GREAT for this fight.

Heh. I started the pit of 100 trials at like level 20 or smth. At the very start of chapter 7. I had a danger mario build and had like 20 power rushes. Yeah... needless to say I absolutely obliterated the 100 trials easily. Granted it did take a while. But still, was super easy

If it was possible in the remake of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, possibly in the remake of Paper Mario 64 that idea will be repeated along with the Albino Dinos.

You don’t have to beat the game for this boss to appear you just have to beat the pit and drive wacka away and beat the pit again

So I drove the whacka away after I beat Bonetail and I just got down to floor 100 and he wasn’t there. Did I miss something or do something wrong?

I'm here at the 100th floor and he's not here and i have to look it up and he's not here because i didn't hit him a bunch of times :( I felt guilty because Goombella told me to stop hitting him (tattle)

Literally the last two tattles i need are tied to waiting for emails that just arent coming even though ive done everything for them

What was the issue?

Why don't I get the Email? I beat the game, made Whacka disappear and beat Bonetail.Can I just go into the Pit now or do I have to do something else, to trigger the mail first?

I owned Super Paper Mario as a kid and could never bring myself to hurt the Whacka. Now Nintendo has made it a 100% completion requirement... and made sure we all were adequately punished for our crimes. Justice for Whacka!!!

I've already met all but one of the conditions; receive the email. How long does it take for the email to show up after driving the Whacka away? Update: It just came in!

I’m not sure if you have to roll credits for this, I got my email after clearing the Pit for the first time and smacking our guy off his island.

Just an FYI even if you complete the game, pit of 100 trials, and bump whaka 7-8 times, he will not appear in the pit unless you receive the email first. Happened to me 😢

Step one is incorrect. You don’t have to beat the game in order for anyone to fight this boss. I did the last two steps before starting chapter six and after I completed that chapter while I was in Rogueport I received the email saying that yeah this a Whacka in the pit of 100 trials. As for strategy, I used a strategy that I used for almost every other boss in the game: PERIL JOSHO!

I got the email before fighting the shadow queen. So you dont need to finish the game, just beat bonetail and hit whacka 8 times.

This is Captain Falcon. Max HP is 120, Attack is 9 and Defense is 6. He was the winner of a grand prix, WOW!!!. And he's also a great bounty hunter, he is really talented!. Mario we have to be cautious, his falcon punch is no joke.

UPDATE: it doesn't need to be post game if you beat the 100 before you go Keelhaul Island and then get him to disappeared before you head back to Rogueport, you should be able to face him after collecting the 6 star

I got the email before beating the game so you can do the fight before the final boss

not me wasting my time forgetting to go to rogueport for the stupid email lol (it was a smooth run with 2 movers and 4 amazy dayzees though i guess)

Whacka was originally going to be a super boss in Paper Mario 64 and Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door upon their releases; but in the end those ideas were discarded.

Looks like you just need to get Whacka's HP to 0 like everyone else. Any badge and skill will work, just be aware that multi-hitting moves gives Whacka more ammo.

you don't actually have to complete the game to fight whacka, all you need to do is defeat bonetail and drive the whacka away, he'll appear whenever you complete the pit of 100 trails

I am thoroughly convinced someone at Nintendo played Paper Mario Master Quest and was like "omg that was amazing we need this in the official games!" Prince Mush is way too similar to The Master 4 and the idea of fighting Whacka at all were both lifted straight from that romhack.

Tbh not a fan of these underwhelming secret bosses. Never understood why secret bosses in Mario games who are extremely hard to defeat, also appear as a regular, ordinary character as opposed to something that looks more menacing like the bone dragon

I guess they assume extra content is just stuff that can be slapped in for players who are able to find it. Kinda shows when culex is one of the most popular secret bosses because he’s actually cool and different from the rest of the game, while also being pretty difficult. And people love true endings to games that are hard to find like in Hollow Knight and Persona 4, that are unique final challenges. edit: also im just yapping about bosses I realize now im really not talking about the game...

Whacka is an iconic character in both the N64 Paper Mario and the original TTYD. He gives you the overpowered Whacka's Bump item which heals for 25HP and 25FP. Nothing to do with Toby. He was never an enemy in the original games.

As much as I love this remake, this addition almost makes it worse... why the hell, if they actually thought about adding superbosses, would they include the most boring, dumbest possible boss at the end of the most time consuming area? Having to play the pit twice only to fight wacka... seriously 😅
