This is such an evocative piece. You’ve given this piece a story now. A whole history of this table popped into my head when you put the poly over the stencil. Hi there, I've been watching your renovations for a while now and have been very happy with my furniture painting based on your instructional videos. I am out of room for this type of furniture now and I want to try and rehab chairs and/or sofas. Have you thought of doing videos on fabric painting and overlays? I would love to see them if you are branching off into fabric as well. Or can recommend someone you trust. Fondly, Patsy in NC

i'm an Aussie and I am loving using some of the quality paints we have particuarly Porters Paints, of course Pureco and Mint by Michelle's mineral paint line. I try to mainly use Australian paints and finishes but I also go where my inspiration takes me!

Thanks so much 😊 So no this paint line (the chalk one they do have an all in one) does not have a primer but if you saw the first color it was darker and that does not require a blocking primer. only lighter colors :)

I always find it interesting when someone's " finished" piece looks the same as my " halfway through a project" piece. I start stripping furniture...find layers & layers of paint..get discouraged & stop. Half of my stuff already looks like your finished piece lol...

@@BellaRenovare oh...sorry neither...it's just frustrating for me...keeping up with the trends. It's like seeing kids wear mismatched socks. When I was a kid...everything matched...socks, shoes, pants, tops...even your jewelry...When I go to refinish furniture I just assume it has to look perfect...clean no old paint...nothing..just a perfect finish. Just like some ppl age furniture on purpose...my furniture is ALREADY aged...( that was meant to be funny...cause I'm old lol). I am just wondering if I am doing extra work for nothing??

@@shagordaahuanlla810 honestly, I don’t really pay attention to trends. I just do. I live in Germany so what is popular here is not popular in Australia or the US. I say create what you want and what moves you and you will find the right clients for you :)

@@BellaRenovare It makes sense you live in Deutschland...here in Canada ppl seem to prefer cold clean IKEA type designs over more antique & rustic looks. But you're right...it depends on your clients. I don't have any specific person I redo furniture for so that probably makes it harder. I just find furniture that ppl have thrown out & try to give them a second life. I just never know what styles will appeal to most ppl ( besides IKEA lol).
