Thank you for the app tip. Finally got control back. I wish a new generation of remote will have the ability to sync with the app so you still have a handheld option.

The use of the smartphone allowed me to determine which buttons were not working. I then used compressed air while working the buttons and was able to get the majority of them working. Great tip, thanks.

The best idea was checking the function of the buttons with the smartphone camera. 👍👍 The most used buttons around the middle did not work. I removed the top cover of the remote with a screw driver gently without destroying it. the middle of the remote was fill with an oily film which prevented the buttons to work. I cleaned the electronics board with a a cloth and window cleaner and washed the rubber foil that holds the buttons with water and soap as well as the top cover. Without closing the device, I tested the buttons with the camera and they worked again. Now the remote control works as a new one. I have no idea where the oily film came from, maybe sometime a battery leaked? But it works again. Hope this helps somebody else.

Thank you my remote issue solved , it kept reading 'no TV channel" everytime I tried to stream movies for my kids. But I reboot my TV for the 3rd time and unplugged it. And badaboom! All clear.

Hello. I have a xg9000series tv. I bought a new sony remote because the org broke. It has 2 more buttons for apps, the rest is the same. My old one had play store and netflix button. The new has yt netflix d+ and prime. D+ and prime doesnt work. It says the apps are deactivated. But the apps work, just not with the shortcut-buttons on the remote. Is it possible to fix that? My remote stopped working. I used a butter knife to separate the two halves of the remote. I pushed it in along the seams. I washed circuit board and buttons in warm soapy water. I made sure everything was bone dry then reassembled the remote. It works like new.

Sony tv is not responding while pressing remote control but remote control tested another sony tv working fine. what i have noticed is that tv light is not blinking previous it was blinking whenever tv turn off or on white color but now no more light even with the remote control. What could be the issue , TV issue ? Interesting part is voice control is working fine.

I've tried everything but still can't get the remote to work...first, it works fine when I turn the main switch off overnight, and 30mins into using the TV I will have a get closer to getting the remote to work but now not at all...I've even reset the tv and it's at the welcome screen and still can't get the remote to work pass the welcome screen. Hi Victor, you can move the remote cursor to the search engine on KZread and click on the middle button, a keyboard will appear on the screen and you can type the letters through it.^Omnia

Push the Volume down button and hold it. After that, push the MIC-button and the LED on the remote will start to light up several times. That means the remote is pairing with Your tv. That works on mine Sony XF9005.

The pointer on TV moving randomly and automatically- to the extreme ends- how to correct this - have changed batteries though.

Download Android TV app on your smartphone, if the TV is connected to the WiFi you can operate with it.

I tried everything you said, no luck. I have a sinking feeling the android OS was hacked and rendered it inoperable from the remote. I have ordered a new remote to confirm my theory. I really hope it works using a new remote. Otherwise, I reckon it will require this Bravia KD65-X8007H have a hardware reset button somewhere or a service USB port to do a complete reformat by a technician which is quite expensive.

@@SonyEuro Hi again. I have good news. Turns out there's a way to reset the remote! You press two buttons. First you hold down the minus volume button then hold down the mic button for 3 seconds and an orange light will appear on the upper left corner of the remote. It's back to normal! I'm in SE Asia btw.

If I put back the old firmware on my android box, it's work again, SOOOO, It's no related to the Sony TV but the android box, but SONY should just "indicate" me was is the component in android 12 that make the remote of my TV SOny bravia KD-55XE8596 work, that's ALL. The pb I DO have with my SONY is that your firmware on TV doesn't SUPPORT almost any gamepads I have!! Not EVEN Dualshok4 and many other gamepad, What a SHAME, it's your OWN BRAND!! My Sony tv has no obstacles in front, the remote is indeed sending signals (I’ve checked with camera), but the only button that works is the voice command which is going through Bluetooth. Seems like the receiver in TV doesn’t work but I don’t know where it is located sony 55xf9005 I changed new batteries. Tried everything. ☹️.

I have the same issue on my second RMF-TX310E (first one had the same issue), Voice Control works, IR can be seen from the remote but the buttons don't work... I will now need a 3rd remote, maybe there is a known issue with the RMF-TX310E?

Actually when i try to contact my tv to the wifi network the keyboard that i need to enter the password doesn’t show on the tv screen 😢 and i couldn’t connect it to the network please help

TV doesn't respond to remote (but remote works on another TV), so I guess it's the TV's IR receiver. I used a bluetooth remote to control TV and was told by support to do a factory reset. Now I'm at the 1st stage of new TV setup (select language), but the bluetooth remote can't connect (as the TV isn't setup yet), the TV remote still doesn't work and I cannot do ANYTHING!

I used a universal remote app using an adroid phone and was able to factory reset the Sony TV, unfortunately, there's no way I can navigate the controls now on the TV because the universal remote app on my adroid phone is already disconnected and the Sony remote is not working too. @@SonyEuro Thank you for your reply and attention! First of all, the software is updated automatically (no newer version available). The TV model is sony bravia 2015 kd49x8309c. Second, the remote "home" key works, since when I press the key I see the light through the mobile camara and also the TV indicator reacts (the white light under the Sony name). The batteries are also fine. The problem is: When i turn on the TV, the default screen is always HDMI 2/ MHL (dont know why). In the past, I pressed home key, the screen went to the home screen. Then it had been a while the TV reacted with delays like a couple of seconds to switch the screen to home. From yesterday on, it just never goes to the home screen anymore. I am now using "discover" key to find youtube and other apps at the moment... Today the problem remains. Yesterday I also tried unplugged the TV for > 2min which didnt solve the problem. I tried several times. I also tried to ask for help by "remote help" on TV, but it didnt work. I'd really appreciate that you would help! Thank you!

My back and home buttons get stuck a second or two when pressed. The buttons get pinched by the outer shell. I guess the holes are misaligned or too small. Contacted Sony Sweden, but they didn't want to replace it since it still "works". I love double presses on my new Sony 75xh9096.....morons. Rmf-tx500e has piss-poor quality (and control) is my conclusion. And Sony's unwillingness to help me get a replacement to a malfunctioning cheap plastic remote should be an embarressment to them. Disappointed.

I have the exact same problem, bought the tv from Elgiganten in 2020. And the problem started about six months after the purchase. There must br several other customers with the same problem as it looks light the problem is a result of a design flaw. However I guess there aren't many people reaching out and instead buying replacement remotes. 😕
