If the Mask unit is faulty, can bypass fiber optic at Mask unit will help to get normal audio in the car?

Hello I can’t find how to remove the amfm module in the driver back panel ? E65 2008 bmw 750i alpine model ? I would appreciate any help don’t have radio but I can go through usb and listen to radio just not loud and front right speaker crackling sound thank you .

Mines turned out to be the fm tuner module if I put a used one in will i have to get it coded to my car?

Thanks for the information. These videos are awesome. Especially becauseI just purchased a 06 750li and my DVD changer makes noise but does not release the disk drive. The same thing with the navigation system in the trunk it took the Navi disk and dont do anything. Any suggestion? I will try the process for the static in my passenger front speakers.

Cd changer needs to get repaired or replaced. For navigation, push and hold the eject button a little longer or unplug it and plug it back in.

Thanks for taking the time and create the video and explaining how it works and diagnose. I have e66 2008 750li with SOS bmw assist system malfunction and had no info to the right side on the radio FM,AM,ETC..., no sound and most of the things on the idrive did not work. Also the front speakers had static coming out like they are on and I think gps unit in the trunk was kind turning and turning. So I got one of the Fiber Optic Optical Loop Bypass Female Adapter and I have started in the trunk with the Satellite turner module , I disconnected the cable and had red blink light, so I connect the loop cable and while I started the car , I had all working again FM,AM,ETC all except for the Satellite radio not working anymore, So my question is is that what the problem I had? by looping the Sat receiver is this where my problem is? Hello, we have a 2012 X3 and we checked all the optics and all working fine , what else could be the cause of having no sound ? Checked all components as well , main unit , amplifier , we tested all speakers ... everything seams to work except the sound

It could be due to the bad amplifier or head unit.

Thank you for this video, I have a 2008 BMW 750 and when I turn on the radio I get no sound just a low static. I do have sound for the parking sensors door chimes seatbelts all of that but just the radio has no sound. Is there a fuse or something I should be checking?

@@YamaZafar Check in the trunk, close to the amplifier to see if you have an "IBOC Tuner" module.

Display unit and ASK unit are generators. Order of the fiber optics not always the same, remove all and find out.

Unfortunately in my case the ASK unit is bad, which makes everything in the optical loop appear bad. I have a 2004 BMW 745Li. ASK units are hard to find...

You may remove the broken fiber optic lines but you need to splice the rest to close the loop.

Hey my screen is completely black no sound at all my single cd spit out a cd so the fiber optic loop must be fine to that point the changer door is broken but still functions is my best bet trying to replace the monitor? I was about to bypass everything and install double din in glove please help

If sub woofers are working intermittently then the small amplifier could be faulty. You could buy it on Ebay, search by the part number off the amplifier sticker.

At first I wasn’t getting any sound and the display inside was not showing any stations. I tested the signal from the fiber cable inside the glove box as well as my navigation system in the trunk area. Both areas gave me a blinking signal. However, when I plugged in the lollipop fiber optic bypass into the satellite tuner, the radio began working, and I could see the stations and change the stations again. The audio began working too but there was some static and the sound kept breaking up. I never tested the Logic 7 Amp because my original issue was no sound and no radio channels. So now I’m curious what the issue could be. Do you have any suggestions what to do next or what the issue(s) may be? I appreciate any guidance you can provide. Thanks

Problem could be the monitor or the ASK unit. No need to do any loop test since you have audio.

Video was great. I checked all my module and they all have the blinking light. When I try to bypass the AMFm Turner in the rear with the optic wire there wasnt any sound. when I hooked it back up to the AFM Turner then there was sound. the issue is that the front left speaker and the rear right speaker is working but none of the other speakers are. What could be causing this.

@@kcole8873 yes, change ASK unit and if still the same, then the other Amp could be bad also. Play a CD and check the audio again as well.

@@HiTechElectronic so I switched out the amp and the two front door speakers is working the rear back speaker on the right is working the ones on the back door is working and theres static with those speakers the other ones are not working. I am about to test the ask module in the meantime could I still be the logic amp?

@@Angel-rj7ss You need to bypass the amplifier first. If the amplifier were faulty the navigation and radio station would come on.

I bypassed the amp, and still no sound, does this mean the amp is ok? Two quick question, can you bypass the ASK unit to see if this is faulty? And second, must the cd cartridge be in the cd changer for the radio to work??

ASK unit can't be bypassed. CD Changer dose not need to have cartridge.

@@ccasta23 If you bypass the AMP you should have sound. After you find the problem then hook up the Amp and check it.

Very very helpful video, I have a weird issue, all units are generating light so there is no MOST ring break, the problem is I have no radio station, cd and cdc are grayed out and when I inset cd in ask unit it tries to read it then goes back to FM, when I turn the volume all the way up I hear hissing, what could be the issue? I’m thinking maybe ASK unit is faulty?

@@himalionel775 You need to find out and let me know. Leave the key in the ignition while the driver door is open, you should hear the door chime. If there is no door chime, bypass the amplifier in the trunk and check again.

Ignition on and radio on, and you need to cycle the ignition key once it time out.

No, it does not need programming. Either the used Amp is bad or problem is something else.

My amp is working because I still have all the subwoofers working but I have no other speakers working and can not access navigation or car assist on the screen please help

To find the problem, you need to bypass the amplifier first and check the audio. If speakers started working then amplifier is faulty, if no sound at all then the ASK unit is faulty.

@@HiTechElectronic ok i tried that the ampthat is their apparently it's been replaced because it's not that long big logic 7 amp it's a shorter smaller one when I bypass that everything cut off then I plugged it back in tried bypassing the other stuff that was back to the GPS navigation all that and subs came back on randomly like yesterday and the day before for the first 5 minutes of driving my right side door speakers will work but the subs won't in the left side won't and then after about 5 minutes those shut off in my subs come back on

I have a 2002 bmw745li and soon as I crank it up the acceptance button always show up then after you accept then the radio shows up but no sound or stations shown.. the door chime is not coming on also..only problem I've seen is the cd changer won't eject but has power.. also my AC was just blowing snow balls now it's not even blowing at all but is clicking on when I hit my ac botton.. the car only has 64000 so I know it's not much.. Please Help I need music and air!!? Thanks

You need to follow the instruction on this video to find out which module is faulty then have it repaired or replaced or bypassed.

Thanks for the Tutorial. Great Job. The Radio in my 2006 BMW 750i does not produce any sound nor display the radio channels as well as navigation. I tried your test without the fiber optic Jumper by unplugging and plugging back each Module's fiber optic cable one at a time to check if signal is transferring. Apparently everything seems to work fine as signal is passed from one module to the other as indicated with the Red blinking light. However i noticed there is no red blinking light in the fiber optic cable in the glove box of which you said it is possible the ASK system is bad. I bought another one and still no changes. Can this be an issue with a fuse at the back? I have tried everything else but don't know where else to check again. Please HELP...

Please disregard my question. I found the problem. The fuse in my old ASK system was bad. I just replaced it and now it works.

Also, make sure there is at least one DVD disc inside the player. To check the player, try a music disc instead, it might play music disc but not the DVD, that means the laser pick up needs to be replaced.

@@dalebiggs2327 If there is a disc inside the DVD player and there is no Icon then the DVD Changer is bad. I hope you know the difference between the Navigation DVD player and the DVD changer.
