my radio unit does the same. the problem that the AGW and the Radio draining the battery, i took out fuse 6 in the trunk and fuse 26 near the driver side. does it worth to buy the bypass lollipop and give it a try, or need to replace the AGW. Thank you.

Hi this is a great video. My CLK350 comand when turned on will show MB logo forever never turn off but nothing else works. i tried to update the NAV but after that. nothing works but the MB logo. Could I bypass the NAV? Have to take out the COMAND unit? CD audio works but the screen is only shows MB logo forever.

Yes i was getting telaid module malfunction visit workshop error and command unit would not work. So i bypassed voice module and got command unit and sound back still getting sos error how to clear that i am not paying MB to use star diagnostic tool just to clear that

I have a 2007 ML350 W164. The radio works but the screen just has lines running through it. I think the screen is bad but think a aftermarket system might provide more options

I tried searching for my problem here but didnt find any answer - My 219 Cls with PremiumAudio(HarmanKardon) should have the option for SurrroundSound/Logic7 music modes, but it lacks it. Only the fader and balance, bass and treble can be controlled from Comand. Do you know if that could be a problem with Audio Gateway, or more likely to be Comand's problem? I had battery charged because car sat for 3 weeks . Then I noticed static on radio, & navigation wasn't working . Then again after 5 days - car not driven -I just had to get a new battery & maybe they (AAA) disrupted the wiring . Is that possible ? Should I go to Electronics person or garage ? May I used the roof ( back ) antenna to connect to the satelite radio? the antenna is the small black stick in the back. I think this was used for the tele Aid ( not installed in my car) Also I'd like to know where I can get the cable terminal , ( what side of the vehicle) I saw like a double connection in the left back close the the fuses. thank you !

What steps should I take if after jump starting my battery the unit does not turn on at all? No power seems to be coming to the unit.

My system powers on but without display n no sound or anything. The fuse for antenna is blown so I went to chg it n it popped before I could even plug it in twice! Short?🤷‍♀️ I bought the lollipop so I’ll try these suggestions n see… thank you so much for your awesome videos!!!

Hey there again you wouldn't be able to tell me how to make my cars fade ability work on my 55 w211 Mercedes it has the same stereo I have a 2006 model car and it will let me adjust the fade front to rear but the 2004 car will not exact same stereo and both cars. Hi, thanks for the video, very eye opening. I'd like to ask what I think is very important regarding the modules that connect to the radio in the cockpit. Are the fibre optic cables navigation, audio gateway, voice module, etc multi-mode or single-mode? I'm asking because I removed the Bluetooth dongle from inside my armrest compartment to free up space for my actual phone, and that caused the radio to stop working. I'm just wondering if I can splice the in and out cables to close the loop. Thanks.

Hi there, I purchased a GL450 2009 and the cd player took the 6 cd's with no problem, but, after a family trip it didn't eject them, so, I took the command control out trying to fix it, couldn't do anything since is too complicated for my electronic knowledge, so, I put it back, hook up all the connections exactly like they were before, but, now it doesn't turn on at all,, can you please advisement? The CD changer mechanism needs to be replaced or repaired.

In that box is a small fan that stays on when my doors are locked and car is sleeping. Thats why my battery is very weak.. also navi is not working.. 320cdi '07.. where i can find new one?

Okay i did it got my sound and radio back. I bipassed all componets it was voice module. I still have sos error but command unit and cd changer sound work

2009 model has totally different sound system. You need to have your command unit repaired or replaced.

Any faulty component with fiber optic connector could trigger the SOS error message.

@@HiTechElectronic I got the stereo back up w a bypass loop on the navigation. A week later I swapped a salvage yard Navigation unit in and stereo still worked but SOS malfunction msg was still present , came back after reset but it went away overnight . Still off Yay me and thanks

If you change your command and amplifier with an after-market unit the problem will go away.

hey, i have a 2007 ml350 and when i turn the car on, the audio works then it cuts off after two minutes. I used the bypass loop for the amplifier and tele module checked the fuses but it still doesnt work.

My car was doing the same, it turns out the #6 40 fuse was out. I replaced it and everything is working just fine

Most likely Audio gateway module is bad.

the head unit in my 2008 cls63 recently started turning off then on randomly. along with this came a "popping" or "cracking" sound from the speakers every 10 seconds or so. considering the fact that im getting cracking and popping along with the radio shutting itself off, it's more than likely the amp, right? anyone on here have any input? all fuses are fine

You could bypass voice module if your car has one. Otherwise you need to replace the audio gateway and find out because you can't bypass the audio gateway.

Another question if you dont mind answering my steering wheel for e320 is heavy I believe its a broken belt somewhere how much should it cost if i was to get it fixed?

Hello. My radio occasionally works, but more often lately it doesn't work at all .No logo and CD changer doesn't come out either. Does that mean the radio head has a loose connection or needs replacing. Thanks

Hello, my comand unit NTG1 does not start when i push the Power button. Sometimes it does, but most times not. Most times, I would pull out FUSE 26 from the Radio Unit, and it would start. Now, even if I do that, it still wont start. I have bypassed the Navigation unit and the Tele-aid in the trunk, and still does not start. I suspected the AGW but after seeing your video, and listening, I think for sure it's the comand unit. PS: I don't have CD changer. Any sugestions?

If there is no Mercedes Logo when you power up the command unit then the command unit needs to be repaired or replaced..

Thank you. The video is very helpful. I have a 2007 ML350 with Harmon Kardon upgraded sound system. When I turn on the care, everything works, but after a minute or two the sound cuts off. I have tried replacing the Amp and the Audio Gateway under the seat with used ones I found I found on eBay, but the issue could not be fixed and I have tested the Command unit and that is fine as well. I did not however use a scanner to reset things after the installation of these components. Do I need to do that before these parts start working or could the issue be something else I am missing. Thank you in advance for your response.

Check to see if the car is equipped with a satellite tuner module, if it does have one, bypass it and hopefully it would fix the issue.

I replaysed voice m9dule and cd changer sound is back bit always i got this module nect to tele aid on right side what is it cant find what it is looks like amp idk. On your video you have an empty slot on the right mine has the amp l9oking module their what is that? Maybe thats problem? Idk can you please help?

The problem could be the Audio gateway or the Antenna.

my Mercedes Benz C230 2005 has challenge in music player.... when the music is playing, for about three seconds, a beeping sound will interrupt, it will continue like that until one minute latter, the music will stop to play completely...... what do I do????? please help.

Hey guys, I've had a 2008 Mercedes Benz E350 for 2 years now. The Harmon kardon Logic7 sounded amazing. Until one day my CD changer stopped working while I had CDs inside . I've been reading forums and some people said to remove the fuse for AGW, the CD changer and the radio. I followed the steps took the fuses out, put them back, and at the end the CD changer started working again. But ever since I removed the fuses and put them back into place, my sound has not been the same. I used to get powerful bass from the front speakers, and the subwoofer , and an awesome clear surround sound experience. So much question is do I have to go into engineering mode to get the sound back, or what do I have to do to get the sound? Because I believe that after removing the fuses I must've messed up a component in the radio system that has to be readjusted. I still get sound, but it's not the same as it used to be before I removed the fuses. Sometimes I try, and I put the bass to maximum, and nothing happens. Guys please help me.

Hello awesome video. My car is a 2009 e350. I have the same issue as you described and the difference with mine is that I have radio sound. The logo comes on and disappears after about a minute and sound cuts off. None of the steering wheel buttons work for the radio. I have ordered a bypass loop and haven’t received it yet. If sound comes on, the comand unit is probably still good correct? According to your video, if I have sound my audio gateway is still good?

My 2008 GL450 has radio static like blown speakers for about 5 minutes then clears up and sounds perfect CD and satellite radio sound fine all the time do you know what the problem is I changed the amp under the driver's seat same issue no one seems to know the issue

Hello HiTech, My wifes 06 ML350 has the nav command radio. My problem is the mercedes logo comes up and never goes away. The radio will play the last station tuned into and volume level works. But the radio will not change any stations as only Benz logo remains. It does not go to sleep, just stays on one station and is locked up. Maybe nav system is faulty as yours in the video. I guess I need a lollipop to try. Suggestions appreciated. Thank you, Craig

Hi Craig. I have pretty close the same issue except my radio will cycle on and off. I copy and pasted HiTech's reply to me followed by the problem I'm experiencing. Good luck! (HiTechs reply), The problem is the command unit and most of the time is caused by the navigation drive which is inside the command unit. (My issue), Hi, I have a 2009 E350. The radio started the intermittent on/off. I have audio and it can be adjusted up/down but cannot change station or bring up nav/cd. Mercedes Logo remains on entire time until radio turns off by itself then back on. Cycle repeats. Can you help? Thanks.

My 2005 e200 has sound for a while and after 15 minutes the speakers begin playing soke metal , screeching sound. Hard to explain. What could be the cause?

I have one issue the Comand is SLOWLY loading.. might take 5 minutes sometimes might take 10 minutes.. when I shutdown the car and start it again no problems but If I leave the car for 1 hour without the engine on .. Comand loads so slowly..

Purchased tele aid and audio gateway module..the orange sticker says "once installed this control module contains vehicle specific data.installation in another vehicle is strictly prohibited .please refer to service literature for proper service and replacement procedure" which is for the tele aid module.the module was pulled from another car same year same engine .when I purchased the car it didn't come with books or service manual ..

I changed the car navigation from the back and even the audio gateway which were used on another w211, and i still got the same problem, it turns on and off, could be the voice module or the taillight module?

You should bypass the Vice Module and find out. Tail light module has nothing to do with your sound system.

this probaly works but i tried following the steps but being that i didnt have the tools .. i juss disconneted both the main battery witch is in the rear and the conventional fuctions battery located in the front hood and put it back together my radio and navigation was operational again ...this is what i call a hard rest but it most certainly worked

Either the LCD is bad or the circuit board behind it. You need to have your radio replaced or repaired.

Have any of you ever encountered a command system that will cycle through the Mercedes’ logo until the power button is pressed, then once turned on says “system (or device can’t remember exactly) unavailable” and then turns off again. Probably one of the modules mentioned in the video? 2005 S430 for reference, thanks!

One of the components in the trunk is not working. Such as Amplifier, CD Changer, Navigation drive or any other components with the Fiber Optic jack.

I have a E350 2006 Benz and my battery keeps draining. We think we figured it out and believe that it’s the navigation system in the trunk and radio. But someone said I may have to look into taking the car to the dealership about the audio gateway for the radio. Any suggestions?

Most likely the Audio Gateway is faulty. Just remove the fuse for Audi Gateway and find out.

Hello, I have a 2008 ML550 and the center screen and it's accompanying buttons have recently become unresponsive. None of the buttons work, besides the power button. The screen does show the screen, however it's only stuck to whatever I'm looking at, as I cannot change the source due to the buttons. Any suggestions on how to fix?
