One trick we use when error F-09 shows up while trying to bake is to switch off, then start broil on hi until it heats for ~2 minutes. Then Clear/off the broil cycle, and start baking at your desired temperature. Seems to bake okay after this silly process. Probably a big clue in this trick as to the origin of the initial bake preheat failure, but I haven't dug into it yet. Good luck.

I get the F09 code but I can see the oven burner is on. The temp reading stays on 100 until the code appears a minute or so later. Suggestions?

no need to check every component. just check the voltage on the hot surface ignitor if you have voltage then its the hot surface ignitor if you have no voltage its the board. makes your life easy

I've had problems with every single LG appliance that I have ever bought and have had to fix my dishwasher, washer and now my oven. I just really wish that I never bought any of their products but unfortunately when you go to the stores they stand alongside other premium models and they're usually priced just a little lower making them seem like a good buy. They just really make shiny products with all of the bells and whistles but are really not durable and dependable long term.

I hear you! LG appliances have a nice appearance, but operation sucks. And try to get a service tech! Good luck. LG will not allow local repairmen access to their parts, so you have to go through LG for service!! Our LG appliances are 2 years old. The LG dishwasher electronic panel went at 2 months. We ended up replacing it with another brand dishwasher. Now our LG range needs the oven control panel replaced. The oven isn't heating as the ignitor needs to be replaced. Obviously we will be purchasing another brand of oven. LG sucks!!

That is what I do, I don’t even wait 2 minutes, I just turn off & back on to set the temp & it is working.

Good stuff ! That’s the code I’m getting F 09

1 major flaw is your readings. Just because your getting a reading doesn't necessarily mean the component is good. There is value for for them. Last washer i did had a tolerance from 7k to 15k on the windings from the stater. So if you saw a 2k reading, you would think it's OK. Not the case. Further breakdown is essential on alot of appliances.

Also you could just check voltage on bake relay.

I'm curious what model number of oven you have? We moved into a house with an older LG oven and your display looks close, if not exactly like ours. I'm having a hard time finding the settings mode since on my display doesn't have it anywhere on there to adjust the oven temp. Thanks Dan

Found the glowbar to be bad new glowbar resistance 103 old one 226

I had F9 code and oven not heating. After I reset my breaker box, no more problem. I wonder how many people don't know this and are paying repairman unnecessarily.

I got one off ebay for $45 + shipping.

Don't waste your time watching this video, he has no idea what components he's checking (for example door lock motor, convection fan), just because you get a resistance value doesn't necessarily indicate the component is functioning within parameters.

LG is garbage. I bought the refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stove. The only thing that hasn't failed is the microwave. Never again. I recommend anyone considering their products move on. My LG repair guy told me next time stick with Whirlpool
