I have a medium to long beard, and I use a round brush to curl the bottom of my beard under to give the appearance of a shorter beard and it works quite well. I’m in the process of growing a “yeard”, so I haven’t trimmed it all for the last 6 months. I have 6 months to go, so with the help of moisturizing products, a blow dryer, and a round brush, curling the bottom of it under gives a clean line and keeps it off of my neck during the day while I’m at work. 👍👍

Hey Greg. I know this is my 3rd time commenting on this video in the last 4 years, but I recently ran into some beard trimming notes I took from this video: I wanted to thank you. I want to let you know that you helped me learn to trim my beard during a time where I didn't really have anyone to teach me. I was about 20 or 21 and in college when I ran into your channel. Fresh outta the awkward teenage years lol. It truly helped me trim my beard with confidence. My beard has thickened up since then lol and I still follow the basics I learned in this video. I appreciate you taking up the role of a "big brother" of sorts to help me out as a young guy. I'm 26 now, I have a job in non-profit work, I'm applying for med school, and I still trim the way you taught me in this video. I've used your professional beard look for interviews, university, professional presentations, conferences, meeting with friends, and now with my regional management work. All with confidence. I use the same corded trimmer my dad had from the 90s lol (they made em stronger back then haha), and a small chargeable beard trimmer. I use a 6, gradually shorted to a 4 as I go closer to back of my jaw. I use a 3 up and down the cheeks, and use the beard trimmer to slim down the cheeks for a more tapered look and then shape the cheek and neck lines. Been working for me ever since. As an Afghan American being born and raised here, I had to learn a lot on my own since my parents came from a war torn country and my father fought against the Soviet Union back when the Mujahideen was backed by the USA lol. Long Islamic beards or big fancy fatherly mustaches were the trend back then haha and my dad couldn't teach me about trimming a beard. My entire family appreciates everything you taught me :) Thank you brother. You're awesome. And your beard is amazing.

Great instructions! I have a much fuller beard these days and I've been just winging it when it comes to keeping things neat looking. Thank you! One thing I'd like to share because I'm so excited about it. For anyone with beard dandruff please read on... ...My skin is definitely prone to dandruff. The oil helps, BUT most people are completely wrong about how to apply it. Sorry to say, even in this video. The main reason for using oil is to hydrate the skin, and the cause of beard dandruff is the lack of oils on the skin - because the hairs pull allot of the naturally occurring oil out. So instead of applying the oil to just the hairs, you MUST apply the oil directly to the skin UNDERNEATH the beard. The hairs will naturally draw the oil out, so no need to just apply to the hairs! The Technique: Using a comb, separate the hairs (like peering through a curtain) and apply a few drops of oil with the dropper. After all the key areas are hit, use the tips of your fingers to rub the oil into the skin. Repeat every day, and wash your beard with beard shampoo only once a week at most. I've been using beard oil for a few years, and I've never been able to get rid of my dandruff until I used the above technique.

I've been growing my current big-azzed beard for almost 2yrs. It's actually down onto my stomach, when wet ;-P My girlfriend can't wait until I finally cut it. Thanks for showing me a more contemporary way of trimming mine. I've had various length beards for almost all of my adult life (middle-aged, now).

@@danirose8364 Hi Dani, Nutrition n genes. Asian? Asians have the slowest growing facial hair I've ever seen. Beyond that, good nutrition its very important. Think of hair like it's skin. Nutritional deficiencies will show there, First. Good Luck!

Honestly helped quite a bit, I have a unruly beard with lots of different grain directions, and this helped alot, didn't quite manage to recreate the look but much improved.

Oh yes, this is the tutorial I'll use when I trim my beard in about 1-2 months. First time grower and I'd say I'm a few days past 2 and a half months and it's looking more and more how I've envisioned it. It really is how you say that the more you let it grow the better it looks even if it's not trimmed. I can't wait to trim it however cause it's so hard to keep the hairs in check even with all the oil and balm and combing there's always a few buggers sticking out and though I'm looking more and more like a viking with every minute I still want it to look clean and crisp and you got that look down with really easy instructions so I hope to god (of war) I don't fuck it up. Would you say that's around 4 months growth in this video? Thanks for the tutorial btw, will be so helpful and a real money saver considering I hopefully won't need a barber ;)

I cant believe we both have the same beard length, you have so many follicles! It makes your beard look so much longer, I'm jealous. Would you recommend doing this routine if you're looking to grow out your beard a little longer? Great vid dude, keep it up!
