No , it's trendy beard time
A beard is full time job, a big responsibility. It's almost mathematical, measurements, quantity, angles. I'm learning something new about men and their beards every day now. I have a new found respect for the Beard. I used to just admire a mans full beard and wanna touch it, I had no idea just how much goes into a sexy full beard. It's not just about growing it out and brushing it. It's almost mathematical, there are measurements, the quantity you want to remove, angles of the facial features, the size of the guards, the precision in a guard free trim, the steadiness of the hand, the confidence after the end result. How can you not love a man with a styled beard. A man who styles and cares for his beard is showing lady that he loves himself just as much as he loves her by gracing her with such an outstandingly trimmed beard. I take my hat off to all men with beards. It makes you look dangerously sexy. Okay, I'm going to stop now.

What a fantastic video. Keep up the great work. Your patience and detailed instruction will serve everyone in their beard journey for years to come.
MAN I'm glad I found your guide after watching 4 other videos that didn't really apply to me. I'm long, going short same length as you, followed your #7 goatee area and #6 sides. Flattend the bottom and then shaped the jaw. It turned out exactly how I wanted! Wife's happy I'm happy! Big thanks brother!!
Impressive transformation. You really do make the trims look easy! This came at just the right time as I will be trimming Saturday.

Very cool! I hope this helps
I watched one of your videos on beard trimming about a year ago and it really helped me out. I usually went too short with it in the past. I appreciate the tips.
You are the man. I have been trying for a month to find someone who could teach me how to use my trimmer and you are the first guy I could easily follow. THANK YOU
You posted this awhile ago. I just wanted to thank you for it. It was EXTREMELY helpful to me. I've always had a relatively low cut beard. Being middle age I had never grown a big beard. Well I achieved success grew that big beard and I wanted to take it down some just not as low as before and I was leary to try after all the work of growing it. Because of your video I feel I am armed to give it a try. Thank you again.
I'm 77 and since I started shaving at age 16 I've never grown a beard...until now. For the last 4 months I just stopped shaving. Well, as you can imagine, the beard looks like a squirrel's nest. My wife said, "Can't you do something with that thing?!" So I've been watching youtube videos and once I saw yours I need go no further. I will order that Wahl trimmer and follow your method. If I still look like something the cat dragged in, I'll shave the beard and go back to my old, boring routine of shaving 5 days a week.
Thanks very much for all of your videos. 4 months ago and at the age of 50 I decided I'd take a beard journey for the first time in my life. I got a ton of compliments on the new look. Well it was time for the first trim. I stumbled on this video and really helped out a lot. Your videos gave me the confidence that I could trim my beard myself. I'll check out your other videos on other ideas for the next trim.

Glad I found this. Always grow a long beard for fall/winter and find it hard to bring it back down. Thanks brother!
yo, I've always grown a beard fast but I've never let it actually grow out before. this was super helpful for taming that 2 month beard back into something cleaner that I liked. I really appreciate you covering the varying lengths for the sideburns, mustache etc since I always struggle with those, even when it's short bookmarking this for future reference, ty!

Let me know how it goes 👍
After being "in the wild" for about two months, I was full Duck-Dynasty. I needed to get back to my usual Mil-Spec Operator beard (issued to me in Afghanistan), but the last time I went from long to short I ended up effing it up so bad I just took it all off, which was tragic. This vid was everything I needed, and nothing I didn't. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this! I had a beard nearly as long as yours that I had let grow out for about six months. I had been wanting to trim it down, but had been putting it off as I do not know any good beard barbers near me. With the help of your video, I was able to successfully trim my beard down. Even got a few compliments from other people. Thanks again for this tutorial!

@@GregBoswell428 One question Greg, if you can help me. Is it really that important to go for hair? I mean, instead of using a 2.2cm one in this case, if I used a 3cm one in favor of the hair, the result would not be similar? Going in favor of the hair, I notice that the hair that always stays longer is from below the earlobe, not the one on the chin, which is how I think it should be. Why do you see it as important to go in favor of hair?

I’m glad you had that small tea tree mint “goof up” because for the longest, until I saw this video actually, I thought guys were saying tea treatment.
Nice trim there Greg! This shorter beard looks good on you. Curious from a first time beard grower, why go with the grain when it seems the the guard pushes the hair down under the guard rather than cut it.
@GregBoswell428
3 жыл бұрын
Going against the grain will cut it much shorter than you may want it. You can do it, and I have but it won't look the same. Multiple passes will ensure that you'll get everything.
Nice job man, Thumbs up. I like it. Thanks for sharing, great tips.
Awesome video. I don’t know if I’ll ever trust myself to do it.
Awesome tutorial Greg! I'm saving this one in case I ever want to trim my beard down to a short beard. Mine is probably a tad longer than yours. I was using my beard as a bit of a deterrent and certainly as a "screening device" with women as I have been single for almost 2 years and not really wanting to date at this time anyway. Well, I seemed to have found a beautiful woman that absolutely love my look with the long beard. And bc I'm so into this whole bearded life and community, not to mention all the products i have accumulated over the past year (50 bottles of oil for starter, it looks like I might never need to refer back to this video! Lol

Hi is the difference to cut beard against the grain / with the grain when I have a guard long enough to cut it against the grain? I think I cut it more thoroughly. Do you think that will change anything to cut style? Thank you bro, btw. this style is best!
Excellent Video! Thank you!
Amazing video thanks for showing us how to keep it growing and neat 👍
Looks great! You clearly suit any size beard. In another life I was/am a straight razor collector, user and sharpener - they are great for the neck and cheek line too, though you obviously don't need help in that area (and you definitely don't want to use a finger as a guard with a straight razor!!). Not sure if I'm ready to go shorter yet but this has been saved as my go-to video when (if) I do. My issue is that I am fairly thin (and have white hair) on the cheeks (more so on the right side - I think maybe because I sleep on that side), and time and length has helped cover the thinner spots. Though, it looks like the sides don't get hit very hard in your trim and as you say hair grows back. Maybe when we come into our summer (Australia - so Nov or so) I'll give this a shot. Thanks Greg - great video as usual.

I know you don't use oil or butter prior to trimming but what is the benefit of not styling the beard first? I've always styled first then trimmed but I'm curious & willing to try your way.
I think I get it now! I did understand to use the different guards. But I did not understand that you have to freehand the steps as the guards change. So I was getting a stair step look on my face LOL! It seems what you're saying is to just take the clippers and blend those steps into each other correct? Thank you!

I've only watched two or three videos but there is really not much to have to understand , when the explanation is throughly like your video on how to shave your head, I pretty much got it myself, but the conditioner , 5 blades, behind the ear and falling the razor right behind the hand . Thank you Greg ...
Great, I always thought to use a template with holes, mark holes with marker remove template, follow dots 😀
Brings up a good point. After my service in the Army you don't realize how much you can't understand people say from people that cover their lip with stash. Maybe it's just me with bad hearing or maybe it's legit because their mustache distorts words.
Your so right about both sides growing different! My rights side isn’t as full as my left by my jaw and it’s irritating to me I like that whal I have one too but not with that T blade I gotta get one of them! It’s also difficult to trim the mustache right under the noise with a guard, I gotta freehand that and blend
you should check out stirling soaps beard oil, specifically the menthe one, it's fantastic and cools your beard
Hey man I order the cordless model you demonstrated but it did not come with size guard you are using. Which guards are compatible with the model you are using? Really like your instruction video. Thanks
Awesome tutorial. As a bald guy I can see how it might look better on myself (also bald). #goodwork Tools: I need a good T-blade trimmer. Much easier to sculpt and make crispier cuts.
